Fix desktop Icons Position

But even so, every time the system restarts, the icons are thrown everywhere without any logic. If it were just a resolution or screen size issue, they'd at least stay grouped together, right? Instead, they're just totally disorganized.

Is this some kind of malware causing the headache? What should I do to fix this?

I do know of a piece of software that handles this. You can set up your icons and save the layout; then, with just one or two clicks, everything goes back to how it was. I think it even has an autostart feature...
It's called "DesktopOK." Just download, install, configure, and you're done.

It’s possible the Wi-Fi channels are acting up—your ISP should probably be the one explaining that part to you. I dealt with something similar at home with Xfinity where my Wi-Fi speeds would tank from 20 Mbps down to 2 Mbps until I finally switched over to an Ethernet cable.

Lisa Perez50 said:Forgive me, I totally missed that part of the question. My wired speeds are absolutely fantastic. The max should be 30/5, but I'm actually getting 31/5.5. I ran a speed test right next to the modem on Wi-Fi and hit 30. But in my room, where my laptop has been sitting in the exact same spot for two years, it suddenly won't go above 18 Mbit/s. It used to hit 30. Clearly, the issue is either the modem or the laptop, even though the signal strength is showing full bars.

I think I might (and probably will) have to move this inquiry to a different thread.
