Help: DVD-RW drive issues

Hey everyone.

I've been having some issues with my DVD-RW drive lately. When I pop a disc in, it starts buzzing, the light flashes like crazy, and nothing loads—not through AutoPlay or even on my PC. The laptop thinks there's an extra device attached, as you can see in the photo, even though I only have one drive. Once I eject the disc, the drive disappears entirely. Anyone know how to fix this?

I’m honestly not sure what to tell you—it looks like the optical drive finally gave up the ghost. You can always grab some new ones at Best Buy for $40, or if you're feeling lazy, just order them on Amazon for $17..
