Fury wins. Transcendence is interesting because of how they handled singularity and self-assemblers, but as an actual movie, it just drags on way too long.🤷

Thanks for the tip, I think I'll dive into Fury later today. 🙂

No, no... that whole bit about the wet pavement is just a total strawman argument. Everything else is fine...

I think we totally misread the situation back then 😁

Basically, he just lost his mind, went full "this is Sparta" style 🤣

A deserved penalty, honestly, it is what it is.

No, maybe it's more like SSovac shoving a grenade into a tank.

They’re going to go playing sheriff again over at the FBI, killing off innocent people and preaching about democracy, only to find themselves asking "How?" and "Why?" when the exact same thing happens in a few years. 🤣

Just a quick follow-up on what was said yesterday about science being treated like some kind of dogma:

restlesssurfer97, dark matter and dark energy are basically just scientific "code words" for everything we don't know yet—the massive, unexplored chunks of the universe. We're talking about 95% of everything out there. But with religion? Dogma is everywhere. People in those circles completely ignore the whole concept of faith. They’re just dead certain they've got it figured out. They aren't interested in any debate that challenges their pre-packaged views, which have long since bulldozed over the actual idea of faith and rebranded it as an absolute, undeniable reality.

Alright.

But if I recall correctly, you were the only one actually bringing up the whole science versus dogma thing in your post. I don't think anyone else was even trying to draw a parallel between scientific theory and religion, and I definitely wasn't.
What I actually did was just have a total blast tearing into the idea that religion has any scientific basis, basically channeling my inner Charlie Hedberg to point out how ridiculous it is to claim anything significant when there’s zero scientific evidence for the existence of God. To me, the whole thing is just laughably absurd, especially when you consider the context of someone like Big Fat, to be more specific.

So, basically, Charlie Hedberg was right on the edge of going under, begging everyone for donations just to stay out of bankruptcy, and now suddenly they’re printing three million copies? And people are just letting them off the hook like nothing happened.

ps. okay, maybe I'm being a bit of a jerk here, my bad. 😢

If I remember right, you were checking out that Apple's review that tried to play the "common sense science" card against religious fanaticism. Personally, I don't think common sense science covers wild theories—it's about actual, proven results.

You clearly don't remember how this went down. I actually spelled out exactly what I was responding to right here, so you can go ahead and look it up yourself if you're feeling unsure.

Even though the whole thing with Samsung isn't really the point, it's just annoying how people from the CIA show up out of nowhere acting all bitter about the results—throwing around lines like 'well, they got exactly what they wanted'—when they weren't even part of the conversation to begin with, and honestly, it’s been bugging me for a while now how people act like the total lack of scientific proof for God's existence is somehow some massive, heavy-hitting argument in itself.

To me, this doesn't even feel like some grand conspiracy theory; it feels more like 🤦 people who couldn't have cared less about the publication when things were normal, suddenly finding themselves obsessed with the contents because a couple of absolute psychos decided to storm the editorial office.

I'm right there with you on that. That's basically the vibe I was going for with my new profile pic.

Well, that point matters because our worldview is built on the info we have and how we process it. Cut off from information, you get narrow views and zero room to think.

The fact remains: you can't prove God through science. Having access to that reality helps actual believers, not religious fanatics with bad output. Extremism always breeds its own opposite. It’s a cycle. When an organism absorbs the good stuff from food, all that's left is crap to be flushed away.
