Even though I've had Peaky Blinders and Daredevil sitting in my download queue for ages, I just haven't found the headspace for them. I'd much rather stick to comedies lately; I just wrapped up Entourage (now we're all just waiting on that ☕ movie), and right now I'm watching Archer, which is freaking hilarious. There's just too much good stuff out there and nowhere near enough time.

And don't even get me started on the classics I've missed, like Oz or Twin Peaks—I actually started the latter a long time ago but had to drop it because life got in the way. That said, I did manage to get through The Sopranos and The Wire, and honestly, nothing else even comes close to those two. 🙏

You should check out The Fall; Jared Padalecki is fantastic in it.

I think it's excellent.

If you're a fan of Breaking Bad, there's a very good chance it will resonate with you too.

I am currently watching The Leftovers, and while the first four episodes are decent enough...

So, I'm currently checking out this new series Aquarius —they dropped the whole season at once. It’s alright, I guess.

So, I just finished Breaking Bad and saw all this hype around The Wire—read through some forum threads too—and man, I was totally riding that wave... honestly thought I’d stumbled onto some absolute diamond of a show because the reviews were insane, not to mention how everyone kept insisting it actually tops Breaking Bad...

And then I hit the biggest disappointment of my entire TV-watching life. I forced myself to watch The Wire three times—seriously, three times—thinking maybe I just wasn't in the right headspace or something... especially since The Wire was one of my all-time favorites... but nope... a total waste of time...

I’m honestly about two seconds away from just muting all these "critics"... such a massive waste of my damn time... 😠

You know, this is probably the first time I've come across anything negative regarding The Wire. I haven't actually sat down to watch it yet, and honestly, can a police procedural even be compelling when you aren't following a central protagonist? Still, it seems like everyone and their mother is praising the show. I think I'll download a couple of episodes just to see if there's any substance to the hype.

What is wrong with people? Honestly. For me, The Wire is the absolute best and most objective portrayal of how society actually functions—from the police and politics to education, journalism, and even the unions...

Everything about it is masterfully executed and incredibly detailed. Aside from The Sopranos, it’s easily the highest quality series I’ve ever watched, with Breaking Bad sitting right on their heels.

Did you watch every season, or did you give up after the first two?

I feel the same way. Aside from The Sopranos and The Wire, I’d probably throw The X-Files into that mix too.😁

That’s exactly how I handled Deadwood. The comments were unbelievable—everyone acting like it was this flawless masterpiece, boasting about an 8.8 rating on IMDb. So, I download it, fire up the first episode, barely make it through, shut the TV off, and delete the whole damn series immediately.😁

You can't judge an entire series based on just one episode.
It's like watching ten minutes of a movie and deciding the whole thing is trash.

I watched the first episode of The Wire 3 times before I could even get into it. Let's be real, starting that show is an absolute grind, but once you're in, it’s epic. Seasons 3 and 4 are peak television, hands down. And Omar Little? Easily the greatest character ever written.

Btw, finally got to Game of Thrones. I've been waiting forever for this, and man, what a sick episode.

I watched the first three episodes, then went back and did them again—then three months later, I tried once more. 🤦

I wasted a massive chunk of my life hoping things would finally "click"... but worst of all, it just left me feeling totally numb...

In that case, I'd suggest checking out The League if you want comedy, Wilfred (USA) if you're into dark humor dramedies, or Rake (Australia) for a drama with some solid banter.

Anyone have any thoughts on Battle Creek or maybe Lilyhammer?

Aspen is such an incredible show. So many sharp, hilarious lines—plus, Van Zandt was absolutely born to play this role...

The NFL 🙏 It’s actually a fantastic series, and honestly, El Chapo is the absolute Number One charmer 🙏

I put on a queue to download Supernatural, The Leftovers, Aquarius (mainly because of David), Aspen, and Battle Creek. I'll get around to watching them eventually. ☕

You can stop watching Supernatural after season 6. The quality drops off a cliff right after Leviathan.

Same here. I really tried to make it work, but it just wasn't happening. I sat through the first season twice over the span of three years, and that was it—nothing gripped me enough to keep going. Watching that one season felt like a chore, honestly. If a show doesn't click, it just doesn't click.
