Look, if someone close to you gets hit by something like this—God forbid—trust me, the last thing you'll be thinking is that the world isn't perfect or that hunting for some imaginary sense of justice is just pure utopian nonsense.

Dennis Evans6 said:Maybe I’m just wired differently when it comes to institutions, but this whole performance where our media tries to force empathy out of us just ends up having the exact opposite effect. 🤷
Unfortunately, that kid isn't the first or the last person to drown, and if the EU keeps playing this kind of political games, we're going to see plenty more of them.
Would you, or any of these people who love to "weep" over the fate of refugees, actually bother commenting on the video > posted? What’s the actual solution here? Are we supposed to send the Navy out to make sure everyone stays afloat? Or should we just ship them all off to Germany, since that's clearly the only place they want to be?

Look, Tomislav Salopek wasn't some one-off case for ISIS members to execute. Why did the collective American consciousness react so differently in his situation?

Dennis Evans6, reacting to Noah Carter24's video. You know how it goes? We aren't even talking about the same thing. This is about refugees fleeing a war, not migrants. The analogy is dead.

Look, you’re just pushing marketing fluff here. Not everyone fleeing conflict is a refugee from a war zone; if they actually were, you'd think they'd be satisfied just having escaped with their lives intact and stayed in Greece or Canada, or wherever else offered them safety. Instead, they all show up without papers, refusing to register in the first country that takes them in because they have their sights set exclusively on Germany or Sweden. They've even started going on hunger strikes, rejecting food and water just to pressure the Canadians into letting them slip through to Germany without any official registration. Does that strike you as typical behavior for someone fleeing a war and looking for humanitarian aid? Or are we actually looking at economic migrants—maybe even a mass migration? It’s not about being against taking in Syrians, or anyone coming from a combat zone, but surely there are some established rules for how these people are processed 🤷

They aren't refugees anymore; they become refugees the exact second they step foot into a neighboring country where there isn't an active war going on.

PS: I really hope people like you get exactly what's coming to you at your own front door.

And nobody ever claimed that bringing everyone into the EU right this second is the magic fix for global hunger. Besides, we aren't even talking about economic migration here—that’s a completely different beast altogether.

I’m reading this right now, and it’s heartbreaking: the child whose body washed up on the beach after that crossing? That little one was part of a family where 11 members were killed in Syria just this year. Seriously, how much would you struggle to stay put in a place where your own family is being wiped out like flies in the summer, especially when there isn't even a legitimate side in the conflict worth fighting for?

Of course, what else can you expect? Just more cherry-picked clips designed specifically to stir up hysteria.

I sincerely hope you enjoy watching stuff like this:

This is what happened in Turkey. Syria-Turkey border. I'm talking about actual refugees here. Not the guys heading to Germany because the construction jobs pay better.

And I guess all you have left is this desperate kind of spin? Just because there are some idiots in our neck of the woods doesn't mean we suddenly need to import an entire "allahu akbar" squad, right?

That’s not spinning, man—it’s just the same cherry-picking you’re doing right now. Look, idiots exist everywhere. You see them in your neighborhood, and yeah, you'll find them among refugees too. Nobody is suggesting we just open the gates to absolutely anyone without any oversight whatsoever.

And we aren't "importing" people; we are rescuing human beings from war zones and giving them a shot at a real life. Or do you honestly think everyone should just sit tight, put their lives on hold indefinitely, and wait around in refugee camps in Turkey or neighboring countries until this whole situation settles down? This conflict has been dragging on for four years now with no end in sight!

I don't know what they're supposed to do, but the fact remains: until they actually make it into those refugee camps, they are refugees. Once they hit American soil, they're economic migrants.
You talk about a "chance at life"? Like, what, a job? In the US? 🤣

There's absolutely no talk of refugees here. This is purely migration driven by economic necessity...

Look, someone is a refugee both while they're in a camp and after they leave. If you're running for your life just to stay alive, you're a refugee for good. As for where they flee—I've already covered this, and I'm not repeating myself! Even Americans used to flee to places like Germany or Scandinavia, even though staying in Canada or Canada would have been perfectly safe. People head wherever they think it'll be easiest to rebuild a life after having their old one absolutely demolished by war. It's what any of us would do! Honestly, you can even laugh at the idea of the US being a "perfect" place to live. If you feel that way, then what would you say about Greece or Mexico?
And besides, all of this is just a tiny fraction of the total number of refugees out there.

Larry Fox5 said:And I wasn't even basing my conclusions on that forum! If I used that as a yardstick, you'd think I spent my time reading some Hitler Youth website or something.

It says right here that 58% are against helping refugees. That’s just a devastating statistic—and I don't buy for a second that anyone cooked the numbers, because any sane person would be ashamed of figures like that.

And as for what you're saying regarding '91 and accepting refugees, this guy explained it perfectly:

"One simple, yet incredibly uncomfortable truth has become clear over the last few weeks: it doesn't matter where we were back in '91. Again, maybe that's not the most tactful way to put it: it matters, but only when our own asses are on the line."

I don't know why that graffiti keeps ringing in my head: "We may be few, but we're total trash."

And who exactly is this massive wave of Americans arriving abroad? You can't compare the situation in America to Syria. Besides, if I'm not mistaken, Glavašević went to Chicago, not Germany.

What kind of fools were my people, running straight to Chicago, while these others breeze through half of Europe (all safe countries) without any paperwork?

Well then, why don't you take a week-long trip to Syria and prove it to us?

Go ahead, rush down to the train station in Budapest and tell us exactly how many women and children show up for every one man.

The thing is, most of those people aren't even from Syria, if you ask me.
