Hey Alex Brown50, regarding what we're eating, maybe something meat-based? I've seriously had my fill of seafood this past week unless you're talking about some five-star, world-class specialty.

As for where we go, honestly, I don't care as long as we're in a city like Miami, so it doesn't even have to be right downtown, though I was kind of hoping to stroll along the boardwalk for a bit. If anything, I'd much rather prioritize a killer meal over the actual location.

And when it comes to the budget, I'm thinking around $200-$83 per person, so roughly $167 total for me and my lady.

It feels much like watching a slow tide roll out over a quiet beach—there’s a certain inevitable pull to these shifts that you just have to respect.👍The pricing feels fair and the regulations are standard enough, much like any typical suburban establishment you might find in a place like Columbus. While the food and service aren't exactly anything to write home about—think more along the lines of a reliable but uninspired diner—the convenience is hard to beat since there's parking right out front, allowing you to grab a quick bite before heading over to a nicer spot in a neighborhood like Beverly Hills for dessert. The view isn't particularly breathtaking, though the layout is quite pleasant and well-maintained.

I just took a look at the updated pricing, and honestly, even $45 or $50 per person should be more than enough to cover everything. It actually caught me off guard that they didn't implement these hikes immediately; it’s almost like they were waiting for the rush. It seems like people from the suburbs were under the impression that since they were heading to the coast for something fancy like the Hamptons or a seaside gala, they could just expect to dine out without much thought for the cost. 😁

Alright, thanks, because if nobody else can explain this better than you, then I guess I’ll just shut up and listen to you. 😛usica:

They gave me a glowing recommendation regarding their culinary program... Since they’re relatively new to the scene, they really have to stick to the gold standard to make an impression,

So, have you already eaten dinner or is that happening later? Sorry, I was out of the house and completely blanked on the fact that I could've just given you an answer right away.🤣

I’m not really sure what the scene is like around the downtown area, but I do know that Duffy's is top-tier. Especially those pâtés they serve on warm pizza crust for appetizers—honestly, I could probably live off just those for dinner.
The city is packed with a million little eateries, and while I’ve hit a few, it was all during the off-season, so I can't tell you what the vibe is like right now... The Nostromo down by the fish market is widely considered to have "the best seafood in town," but if you aren't looking for fish, go somewhere else because they are strictly a seafood joint. In this general area, there are a couple of other spots (like Hvaradin or Tinel...) that are also more about the catch of the day than anything else; some people mention the bay area as being a good spot, but I didn't find it particularly impressive.
Lucia's up on the north side of Mount Marjon is decent enough...
Anyway, I don't know, I'm hoping someone with more experience can give you a better steer. I just pulled these links from Google for you, so hopefully, you can make sense of them.😛

I was thinking about doing it tonight, but honestly, I think I'll just grab a quick bite first and then head out to Los Angeles tomorrow

Down in Orlando...

Man, I totally missed that one, I guess I’m just a total failure at being an American.

But seriously, was that a real question or are you just messing with me? 😁

Hey guys, can anyone help me out here? Is there some kind of tech genius or a Steve Jobs type lurking around this forum? I'm having a total nightmare trying to install the OS on my MacBook Pro, and honestly, I'm just completely out of my depth, so if someone could please step in and save me 🙂

It seems like nobody is watching anything lately, so...

The Nice Guys - an absolute disaster of a crime film, truly dreadful, about as thrilling as watching a bottom-tier NFL preseason game, 3/10
Warcraft - another total catastrophe, 3/10
The Brothers Grimsby - just as much of a wreck, 4/10
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice - 6.5/10, and even that is only because I was thirsting for this movie like a man dying of dehydration...
Pawn Sacrifice - 9/10, especially if you have any interest in chess.
The Big Short - 8/10, more than just a good film; the ensemble cast is simply fantastic.
Demolition - 7/10, a decent enough watch where Gyllenhaal’s wife passes away and he loses his mind, eventually meeting a quirky woman working in customer service and bonding with her and her gay son. It just moves at such a glacial pace that it really could have been thirty minutes shorter.

Anyway, I finally got my hands on The Man Who Knew Infinity yesterday, which tells the story of Ramanujan, the Indian mathematician who published groundbreaking work despite having no formal education—for instance, one of his theorems wasn't actually proven until 2012, though the man passed away back in 1920. You wouldn't find it on the usual streaming sites or in theaters, mainly because it isn't the kind of film that benefits from flashy Hollywood marketing. I'd highly recommend reading his biography before diving in. I'll be getting to it in the next few days.

As for TV series, I've been watching Preacher, and while it certainly has its merits, I'm currently on the penultimate episode of the first season and finding the pacing to be agonizingly slow.

What have you all been watching? ☕

I totally agree, Nice Guys was a disaster. I couldn't even sit through more than 20 or 30 minutes... The Legend of the Kray Twins isn't bad, and Green Room is actually pretty good with Patrick Stewart playing the villain. Punkers vs. skins, it gets intense 👍

As far as series go, I’d definitely recommend Stranger Things

Any fans out there? Season two of Young Montalbano is out now

Finally ☕

Everything I've seen in theaters lately has been a letdown.
Maybe I've just watched too many movies to be impressed anymore. People sitting next to me still get excited every now and then, but I don't.

I just wanted to drop a quick note to recommend the series Mr. Robot—it is truly fantastic, just absolutely brilliant. The story follows Rami Malek, who spends his days working at an IT firm while moonlighting as a hacker by night. Wouldn't you agree that it’s well worth your time? It currently holds a solid 8.8/10 on IMDb, though if you ask me, the show easily deserves at least a 9.5/10.

Wait, was that whole "xy on the machines" thing originally from an American forum? I feel like I'm seeing it pop up everywhere across our usual online circles lately. 🤣
