Seriously, anyone can be a journalist these days. 🤦

In America, journalism isn't really a profession anymore. Most news is just recycled content translated from international outlets... they literally just take foreign stories and posts and run with them. Only a tiny, tiny fraction of journalists actually do the real work.
It’s honestly not surprising when you see the state of the colleges churning out these reporters and the quality of the professors teaching them, only for them to turn around and lecture you on how to do your job.

Newsroom staff at these sites are just a bunch of students who either copy-paste everything or rely on crappy Google Translate to recycle content, kind of like how 24sata does it.

Just your typical clickbait article. In sports journalism, there are certain buzzwords—terms like "superstar," "die-hard fans," or specific team names—that are basically guaranteed to drive clicks, especially when you frame them around these recent water polo headlines.
In theory, journalism is one of the most honorable professions out there. In practice, though, with very few exceptions, it’s often little more than propaganda. Maybe I’m just being paranoid, but I find myself believing that more and more lately.
Don't go thinking this is just a local issue, either. Even abroad, where journalists might be more professional or better educated, it doesn't necessarily mean the quality is any better.
Luckily, we have the internet now, so if you actually want to get to the bottom of something, you can always do your own deep dive.

She was so clueless and uneducated that I actually felt a wave of sympathy for her.

I wasn't even tracking whether she got any answers right; she just seemed completely out of touch because she was born in Germany and moved here to live in America.
