I respect Preata, but I just can't take this band from Island seriously. They act like they crawled out of some Mississippi swamp. They're trying way too hard to prove they're "authentic," and they're completely ignoring raw skill. 🤷

Just imagine if they were actually from the outskirts of Memphis. 😁

But here's a bit of the original flavor for you.

Since we're talking about Pink Floyd, here you go, gentlemen:

you can thank me later ☕

As for newer stuff, I guess this performance of this track is actually pretty good:

Just wanted to offer some credit to my colleague here for their consistently high-quality contributions. It doesn't go unnoticed.

I'm well aware of this project, though I haven't had the chance to dive into the specifics quite yet. I might find some time to look into it over the next few days.

Man, here we go again with the taste debates. But honestly, if you ask me—when it comes to stoner rock, doom, or any kind of psychedelia—less is definitely more when it comes to vocals. 😬

When you're diving into psychedelia, whether there's a vocalist involved is almost secondary. What actually matters is whether you have Pink Floyd or not.
Take this track, for example; the lyrical thought process within this poem is quite significant, and once the song hits the 2:58 mark, it gains an even deeper dimension.

Or consider this—a melody that sounds incredibly trippy despite the lyrics.

I mean, I love Pink Floyd in principle—really, I do—but I just can't get into them anymore. Last time I actually sat through Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety was probably twenty years ago... Now? They aren't even on my playlists. I’ll give them a like if a song comes on the radio because, hey, four or five minutes won't kill you. 😁

It’s just that listening to them now... it doesn't feel right. The emotions they stir up aren't positive or anything—it's more like this deep anxiety and restlessness.

Nowadays, I'm much more into some jazz lounge or maybe some swing. Or even some Dr. House Blues

Is that so?

Does stuff like "Careful with that Axe, Eugene!" trigger anxiety and restlessness for you?

You really are an odd one.
For most adults, those kinds of musical expressions evoke nothing but pure joy and a celebration of nature.

Total trolls.
While we are here trying to discuss music that actually matters for the progress of humanity, you're just trolling with low-brow nonsense.
Have some shame!

You're just a bachelor, admit it—you spent your youth playing video games in the South and listening to Semsu ☕

Not quite. Growing up in Washington, D.C. during the eighties, everyone absolutely loathed that kind of nonsense.
Everyone, not just me.

Nowadays, from what I hear, that kind of garbage is actually mainstream.

Try again.

Cheers to you, my friend.
And seriously, I mean it.
Back in the late eighties in Washington, D.C., Par Valjak was dismissed as some slimy, lightweight pop act. Fast forward to today, and they’re being introduced almost as if they were a heavy metal band. And people like Semsa? They used to be treated like mere caricatures.

Now, I have no idea what era you grew up in, so it's entirely possible you're just trolling me. Who knows?

I mean, seriously, we didn't even play this kind of junk at those themed 80s and 90s throwback parties where people would just drink cocktails from $1.75 and scarf down liver over a beer right in the middle of a pub like they were back in the Rana days. I mean, what even is this?

Most people vote Republican, blast Ceca or Rozga, think they're way better than they actually are, and have zero capacity for empathy or actual thought.

In a world like that—being "weird" is basically a privilege...

See, I never really was a huge fan of Floyd, I’ll admit that.

I tried back in high school. I forced myself to listen because of that mysticism they have—something you realize even before you press play. You just feel this sort of heaviness when, after all that buildup, their supposed greatness just keeps droning on (it's similar to Led Zeppelin or reading Dostoevsky). But man, to me, they always felt slow and monotonous, like they were delaying the point for no reason. Their sound just bounced off me. There might be one or two things I'll seek out when I'm in the right mood, but Dark Side of the Moon has always been a total drag for me to sit through. 😢.

But...

This is peak. It's actually very close to what I was looking for when I posted those first links. 👍
