We couldn't care less; we'll just be out on the coast, enjoying our summer quarantine.

What do you mean by "we will be"?

If anyone's actually into rocker girls, they should probably take a look (though I guess Mjuza isn't exactly something you'd want to pass up either).

Anthony Jackson2 said:No, we can't—that's the whole problem.

Economically, we won't last a month, but the mental breakdown will be much worse.

Even during wartime, people find ways to socialize—to lean on each other and share the depression. But if we're stuck unable to move an inch, people are going to snap like popcorn.

Think about how much easier it would have been after the earthquake yesterday if people could have just popped over to a neighbor's, or visited family to make sure everyone was okay... instead, they had to bottle it up and fight it alone. Mental health isn't some joke.

A solid post... 👍
The question remains—is this how one chooses to live? To simply grind away indefinitely, driven by the singular, exhausting pursuit of trying to save as many souls as possible...
So, the choice remains: do we take the risk and simply let things play out naturally—hoping that in a few months, life returns to its previous state—or do we act? From a purely economic standpoint, this kind of instability is unsustainable... and if you ask most people about the mental toll, I suspect they would agree that some things just have to happen as they will.

Man, I am really not digging the direction we're heading with all these bans and restrictions. Just... no. Not happening.

If someone had told me just a month ago that the military would be patrolling downtown—that I wouldn't even be able to make it to the coast, let alone grab a beer at a pub with a friend to catch an LP match on Tuesday...
nobody would have believed them 😢
what is the point of living like this?

True... it’s only been a few days, yet somehow some of these things have already started to feel perfectly "normal."

Imagine walking down the street when the Corona virus just trips over its own feet and faceplants. It mumbles some "holy crap" under its breath... looks down, and realizes it actually tripped over Lionel Messi 😂😂

I mean, think about it, those viruses are freaking microscopic 😂😂

And now Vekjo is acting like some kind of genius, throwing out that 4% mortality rate like it’s some absolute, scientific gospel truth. Papi just stays quiet because, hey, scientists are obviously way smarter than you, right? And apparently, I have every right to just spout total nonsense and claim that 10 million out of 250 million people should just drop dead because "it's a fact." 🤦

Paul Martinez73 said:I’m not here to lecture anyone or play teacher; I just genuinely enjoy a solid debate. I want an actual argument where we can challenge each other—where you might actually convince me I'm wrong, or at least leave me questioning my own stance... But engaging with people who think they're the only geniuses in a world full of idiots? That's just a waste of breath.

The biggest issue here is that people just don't get the point of quarantine. The whole idea is to stay isolated for fourteen days because that’s how long the virus lingers in your system. Think about it—if you take 100 infected people and put them in quarantine for two weeks, theoretically they should all be recovered by the end, and you wouldn't see any new cases popping up. Plus, if new ones do show up, you actually have a functioning system in place to handle them. But we aren't talking about isolating a hundred people; we're trying to halt an entire country to stop the spread, so you don't accidentally pass it to your family only for them to suffer through it at home. The real headache is that some individuals are just plain idiots and refuse to follow the rules, but you also can't exactly shut down the entire United States for two weeks since certain industries have to stay operational... and then there's the medical staff, who are constantly exposed to crowds, making them the easiest way for the virus to jump from person to person...

All of this should ultimately slow down the expansion, giving us a good two to four weeks to let things settle back into a functional groove...

They’re also scrambling to repurpose existing medications, since some drugs are already being tested against the Coronavirus—not exactly seeing massive breakthroughs yet, but more and more treatments already on the market are being tweaked to see if they can fight Corona...
Vaccines are essentially the "new kid on the block," which means they won't be widely available for another year or two... But an actual cure? That could be hitting the scene much sooner, maybe in just a few months. It probably won't be some magic bullet that works 100% of the time, but then again, what ever is?

I’ll say it again: none of us are smarter than the entire scientific community combined. We’re talking about the people who actually discover cures for diseases, engineer spacecraft, and map out gene cloning... so if Ashley Bailey6 or urbanhawk17 really think they have a better handle on things than the global powers running the show, then honestly, they're beyond help. It isn't exactly rocket science to just stay home for fifteen or thirty days. You aren't even under house arrest—you can go for a stroll, sit on a bench in the park, whatever; you just shouldn't be having physical contact or hanging out close to people for that window. You have one simple job: stay home. But apparently, that's too much to ask because everyone is acting like it's some unbearable tragedy that they "can't go out" or "can't socialize"... please. If you catch the flu and need two weeks to recover, what do you do? Wander around the neighborhood sipping coffee? No, you stay home, get over it, and stop whining all over Reddit and Facebook...

aaaaaa, guys, don't push it.😁

Your system is the only one that actually works. Yes or no? Every single time things get intense and the quarantine breaks, we all end up taking a month-long break together.🤔

And you still have the nerve to bring up slow dilation?🤦 I honestly wonder where you think all our essentials come from—the gas, electricity, water, food, and fuel. If everyone actually stayed home and strictly followed a quarantine, what kind of service do you really think could possibly keep running?🤔

And we’ll just conveniently ignore those "scientists" who claim quarantines actually work, knowing full well that none of them are ever going to hold up in the long run.

wiredfalcon2 said:Look, we can either trust in actual human progress—real science involving levels of global cooperation we haven't seen since... well, maybe climate change—and accept that four more top-tier scientific institutions in the European Union have already jumped on this virus research. We can trust people who spend their entire lives studying this stuff and actually know what they're doing 150 times better than any random person on the internet telling us how to live our lives. Or, we can just be those arrogant jerks who think we know better than everyone else. I get it. We live in a country where institutions are shaky and trust is basically non-existent (for good reason), but let's try to be realistic here. Why on earth would every single sector, every industry, every private funder, and every relevant government agency just commit mass suicide through quarantine just for the hell of it?

Does this only apply to scientists, or does it go for everyone? When a general messes up, when an engineer fails, or when a politician or a doctor gets it wrong... what about when an actor admits a movie they were in was total garbage, yet they still went ahead and did it? We’re supposed to listen to those supposedly "expert" economists who work for big banks or other special interest groups just because they spend their entire lives in that sector. I highly doubt any of them don't have some hidden agenda tucked away somewhere. or they’re just thinking narrowly about their own little bubble.

Instead, you should be asking if four top-tier scientific institutions in the European Union have actually secured enough funding to keep the lights on and pay those high salaries next year.

The issue isn't who you are; it's who's signing your paycheck.😈>

Think of it like a parallel to World War II. I've got some aggressive general or scientist pushing the idea that we absolutely have to go to war against this virus.

I tell him straight up: logically, I can't supply a war for more than a month, and I want to know his timeline for winning.

And what do I get back? "Listen, you don't understand science."😁 Just brilliant. 👍 Seriously, man, hasn't anyone noticed that you simply cannot sustain a quarantine for any length of time—not even a month in the best-case scenario.🤔
>
The whole point of what I'm saying is that once your "scientific" quarantine is over, we'll be left with a situation where most people won't even be able to afford a loaf of bread. You're going to wreck what little prosperity we had left, and then we'll all be wondering why everyone is migrating away.

P.S.
I was just telling a friend the other day, man, come on. He can comfortably believe that a local grocery store fills its shelves every single day and still be considered great at his job. A quarantine means a total halt in production and supply chains, which makes this an economic problem. The issue most people are whining about is economic.

I feel like you guys think you're arguing with Flat Earthers. Just realize that after a month of this, most people will be completely broke and deep in the red. Businesses will burn through their reserves, leading to bankruptcies and layoffs. If the Germans start moving again and we aren't ready to export, they'll find partners in Poland... Honestly, 🤷 I'm not really in the mood to philosophize or play the humanitarian card here. Everything is literally going to hell if this small slice of the economy disappears.

Ooo Carlos, who exactly are you a clone of, appearing out of nowhere like this? 😁 Something like Real Madrid in the LP.

Maybe Corona just lost its footing when Messi dribbled right through its legs and left it in the dust. The true GOAT. 🙏🙏🙏

The scientist Rudan laid everything out so clearly in that recent piece about the two completely opposing ways to tackle this plague. Honestly, if you read that text and still find yourself stubbornly clinging to just one side of the argument, you’re being totally irrational. btw, Rudan is an Epidemiologist who clearly knows his stuff across multiple fields too, because if he didn't, he wouldn't have even bothered developing two conflicting scenarios in his writing; he would have just pushed one single narrative and claimed it was the only truth.

Hmm... 🤔 So, what exactly are those immune Poles going to do for the Germans—are we talking about Martian technology, or will they just be training chimpanzees...

Why don't you tell us if you're still giving advice to truck drivers traveling through Italy to pretend they were never actually there? Is that what we're bragging about now?

And please, give us another one of those little theories of yours about how this is all just a mild flu and everyone is just conspiring together...

Eric Fox7 and any kind of actual discussion... 🤣 🤣

Seriously, Eric Fox7, when you're just pulling my leg like this, aren't you embarrassed to post stuff like this and then try to act all high and mighty?
Idiots claiming they shut down schools🤦 In Italy, the media just brainwashed everyone into thinking it was the apocalypse🤦 They even postponed the NBA because of a virus that isn't any more dangerous than the flu🤦

Go ahead, keep typing, quoting others constantly just to call them out, while your actual grasp on the current topic is about as deep as those company drivers who used to dodge anyone asking if they'd been in contact with Italy... absolute stupidity

Go ahead and find where I ever said—either personally or on behalf of the company—that we recommend anything like that to drivers, then come back and try to troll me.
Honestly, I’ve forgotten more discussions than you’ve even posted, btw.
