The French GDP dropped by 5.8% in the first quarter, while Spain saw a 5.2% dip and Italy fell by 4.8% compared to the previous three months—marking their steepest declines since statistical agencies started tracking this data.

Since this marks the second consecutive quarter of shrinking GDP, I guess France is technically in a recession now.

That first-quarter drop is actually the largest since World War II, even surpassing the decline seen in the second quarter of 1968, when civil unrest and strikes caused activity to tumble by 5.3%.

As for Spain, that 5.2% decrease in the first quarter is probably their biggest slump since the Bureau of Economic Analysis began releasing these kinds of reports back in 1970.

Jessica Gonzalez said:I hear there might be some player protests, if you ask me.

Hopefully, they at least finish out the Champions League.

I'll try to grab Mbappe and Neymar for a quick word once the local pubs open up.

Just double the number of substitutions and give them one solid break during halftime so the players can actually catch their breath. That’s all you need to do.

Look, as someone who has been burned by just about every low-stakes gamble imaginable, I have to say this whole thing feels incredibly superficial. It’s like trying to cross a puddle thinking it's an ocean. ☕

Amanda Evans2 said:So, I’m sitting here thinking about what he said—basically claiming he’s perfectly fine with playing matches outside of France, whether they're domestic or elsewhere, right?

There are two ways to read into that. Is he talking about the way modern Super Bowls are hosted in different cities to boost revenue? Or perhaps he's hinting at playing on their overseas territories?

INCIDENT AT THE ANNIVERSARY FLASH EVENT IN KANSAS CITY: President Biden walks out of ceremony because of a guy wearing an old-school extremist symbol

So here it is for everyone who actually voted for Joe Biden, just your typical small-time gossip monger and bottom-tier politician right here.

That pretty much sums up how he doesn't have any time for these far-right extremists or the old-school partisans either, which is really just another one of those "incidents" where they try so hard to force these outdated political battles back into the public conversation.

Larry Walker24 said:The French Football Federation just officially handed the title to Paris Saint-Germain for the 2019/2020 season since the government pulled the plug on all sports through September, according to The New York Times.

Great. So now the clubs that actually had a shot at the title are totally screwed. Pure stupidity. Just ending the season after 28 games... what a joke.

Amanda Evans2 said:It’s absolutely critical that we set up our tents in Dubrava and spread out our beds across the Arena.
Simply stirring up the masses through empty rhetoric and visual panic on TV isn't going to cut it anymore...

From what I can gather, he simply wants to scrub that kind of extremist imagery from our public discourse, which is something I can get behind.

I certainly haven't seen any crowds gathering under images of Marshall lately.

Jessica Gonzalez said:I guess some leagues might be starting to factor in how brutal the heat can get during June, July, and August, which definitely brings its own set of risks. Especially if there's a heavy schedule with a ton of games packed into just a few days.

For God's sake, can this sport actually pull an off-season hiatus like they used to?

To anyone saying it's impossible—it's not. Of course it can happen. I mean, did they play soccer during World War II?

What if we just "accidentally" wrapped up the championships and leagues by next August? Oh wait, my bad, apparently that's "impossible."

Nothing is impossible.

So you're basically saying you don't see how these things just feed into each other exponentially, you know? You really ought to take Toreov's advice.

So, what you're suggesting is that we can just wave our hands at these massive crises and pretend everything is fine, all while choosing not to react simply because we don't want to make waves?

Oh, absolutely, because apparently we can just march around with our chests puffed out and pretend everything is fine, which is pretty much what I was laying out in my earlier posts if you were actually paying attention.🙄

And just so we’re all on the same page about who's responsible for shoving those old-school extremists and partisans back onto the front pages, just so there isn't any confusion down the road.😍

Is Zoko still kicking?

The media has gone completely silent on him.

I’m honestly a little worried that I might end up missing Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović in a few years, which would be a massive win for Zoko if that actually happens, though I guess it’s not totally out of the question since they once managed to pull the whole Republican Party back from the brink and get them back into power after everything was falling apart due to all those scandals.
She really was such a high-caliber leader that she basically rescued the Republican Party from total ruin and steered them right back into office. 🙏🙏
