Paul Morales3 wasn't exactly cracking any jokes, to be fair.

You just can't win against Herp. Ever.

Herp. 😍 🙂

I'm just living in the hope that he'll come back one day...😢

But seriously—why doesn't Paul Morales3 just apologize for overreacting and end this whole thing?

Because she's a moderator, and moderators rarely bother apologizing—especially when she’s already gone out of her way to show everyone she can't stand that certain forum regular.

Wait, was Paul Morales3 writing in color?
Or did she get into some forum drama and now her text turned white 🤣 just because I might put her on my ignore list?

Just curious, the PŽK file basically became my favorite PDF 😁

I really miss Herp, man. She’s absolutely stunning 😍

Sorry, but how can you even call yourself a forum regular when you're a mod? Is there some kind of blue or black button I don't know about?
From what I can tell, she’s been using her moderator status just to mock people. So...😁

I’m not out here saying Paul Morales3 needs to be punished, slapped with a warning, heaven forbid banned, or stripped of her mod status. Not at all. It's just common sense—people are naturally going to feel uneasy when someone holding a position of authority (even if it's just being a moderator on some online forum) acts incredibly condescending toward them for zero reason. You have to take that into account, because that kind of behavior does absolutely nothing to help the laid-back vibe of this site—if anything, it kills it.

Paul Morales3 went at her like a common farm bird. There was no waving signage, no colorful ink, no fighting over tools—just a standard, messy squabble. ejsin hit back, and she reclaimed all five points. They basically just pecked at one another and that was that.
If this ends up impacting how ejsin manages posts, then we’ll have a legitimate issue to address. Until then, this is nothing more than a playground scuffle.

Not quite.
Both scenarios involve attacking the individual rather than the subject matter, while airing grievances about the platform's vibe and user behavior. Furthermore, neither instance has anything to do with the actual topic being discussed; they are outbursts triggered by general impressions built up over various threads and time.

Some people just can't help themselves—they have to stir the pot, and honestly, they aren't cut out for the fashion industry. You can call it a "chick fight" or try to downplay it all you want, but that’s not what’s happening here. The whole topic was set up specifically for this...

Look, if we were moderating a Politics sub or some structured PDF with clearly defined rules and specific behavioral standards—where we actually lead by example to show users how to interact according to those guidelines—then I’d say it makes sense to demand that level of decorum.
But that isn't the reality here at ZK. ZK is a messy, loud, and unfiltered PDF.
I don't see the point in moderators modeling a type of behavior that isn't actually required of the users and doesn't fit the general vibe of this PDF.
What, are we supposed to write all these gentle, polite, sterile, and measured posts like we're following the strict academic standards of a Viennese school?
And then what? We expect you all to act the same way? We just banish every argument, every bit of banter, every troll, and every joke?
At that rate, we might as well just shut down the chat and the off-topic section too. 👋
Sure, we could do that, but a ZK that's been stripped of its flavor won't appeal to anyone.
Personally, I wouldn't moderate a place like that, nor would I bother posting there.

I don't know... I'll leave it to the mods and admins to review what happened. I really have nothing else to add.

Don't even bother, you're just repeating yourself at this point. And honestly? It’s not all the same, no matter how hard you guys try to frame it that way.
And what’s the best move? Just dragging it out until everyone's exhausted. This thread really should've been locked after a few posts once the person who actually had something to say finished talking.
Look, I’ve got nothing against Paul Morales3, seriously. Everything I'm saying is just based on what actually went down in that controversial thread and right here. But her response in this thread just shows she doesn't really get the difference between sharing an opinion and pulling those cheap ad hominem attacks by leaning on her moderator status.
Besides, there's no need to turn this into some massive circus. Nobody—not even Jose Williams—was asking for everything to be sanitized or for the grit and spice to be sucked out of the conversation (seriously, where are you even getting those descriptors from?).
It’s just about the reaction. Which, somehow, is always exactly the same.🤣
I don't even need to keep following this; I already know how it's going to end.

I gotta say, the way the new mod, stevia, talked to Ace rubbed me the wrong way too. But look, let's not go full drill sergeant on her just yet. She’s brand new to the job and needs a second to find her footing. Maybe down the road she'll actually show she can act like an adult when dealing with the users she doesn't personally vibe with.

velvettrucker52, I honestly don't think anyone is actually out here campaigning for some sterile, clinical atmosphere over at ZK, nor are we asking for everyone to act all "Kissing hand, kind lady" about how they behave. People just want to avoid those unnecessary, awkward situations that drag everything down. Look, let's be real—forum life inherently comes with its fair share of friction and heated debates, but there’s a massive difference between a regular spat between users and when the tension is coming straight from the moderators—even if they're typing in plain text and trying to blend in as just another regular user. Bradley Sanders4 is spot on when they say this was just a single isolated incident, and frankly, that’s exactly how it should stay, rather than having people declare this kind of behavior as totally normal or even desirable.
I think that's precisely what's rubbing people the wrong way. I'm not saying what happened is some earth-shattering scandal or an unforgivable sin, and I'm definitely not calling for some massive crackdown on Paul Morales3. If everyone just showed a little bit of good faith, this could be settled easily—but you can't do that by doubling down and pretending like nothing weird ever happened or acting like everything is just peachy keen.

Ace, I think you both poked the bear unnecessarily, and maybe there could have been a bit more tact from either side given the circumstances. But since Paul Morales3 is a mod, I get why being targeted by staff might sting a little more than just regular user drama. I'm not a fan of the idea that moderators shouldn't be allowed to do what users do, but I see where you're coming from.

The part I don't quite get—the bit that seems to be bothering you so much—is that post where Paul Morales3 got defensive and said she could put you on ignore while you couldn't do the same to her. So what? 🤷 Honestly, I guess this complaint would carry a bit more weight without that, but fine, clearly the whole thing rubbed you the wrong way.

If you're worried about the mod being biased down the road, we have other moderators who can step in if things ever get messy. Or anyone else, really, if someone ends up being unfair.

Man, Joshua Jones13, I really expected more from you...

But that’s exactly the point!
You're getting hung up on the fact that someone was being a smart-ass 🤣 Every day someone is picking at someone else over some random topic, and honestly, the color of a user's handle shouldn't matter. But the "issue" started when Paul Morales3, during that whole "my dad is bigger than yours" kind of banter, pulled out the "argument" that she can do something Ace can't—simply because her handle color gives her that power—and therefore she "won"... I mean, come on. 🤣
Forget having a debate where someone can just mock you using tools they only have because they're a moderator... 🙄

Look, I like Paul Morales3, and Ace can definitely be a handful sometimes when she gets hyper-focused on something, and if we were going strictly by vibes, I'd be Team Paul Morales3 in a heartbeat—but I'm standing with Ace here, because what Paul Morales3 did was just childish... sorry Paul Morales3, but it was. 🤣

And is it really such a huge deal to just say sorry? Especially since that wasn't an argument anyone should have been using in the first place.
No!
Instead, you guys would rather drag this thing out forever, trying to convince everyone here that people are just narrow-minded and don't get the joke, rather than just sitting down with Paul Morales3 and settling it with one single post—and then it's over. 🙄

This whole thing with the ZK moderation is becoming impossible to take seriously—it feels like there's no way for a simple bit of banter to ever just be resolved. 😍🤣

Look, to me, that kind of mocking feels a bit like kindergarten behavior. It surprises me that anyone would take offense at a sentence like that. It’s unnecessary, sure, but is it really worth all this? All these threats like "I'm putting you on ignore"... 🤷
I don't want to sound heartless, and I don't want Ace to feel uncomfortable on ZK, because there's no reason for that, but that specific comment was just pathetic, nothing more.

I'm right there with you on that—it’s honestly just plain immature. 🤣
And we're talking about two grown women here. 🤣
I mentioned earlier that it felt a bit like those "my dad is stronger than your dad" playground arguments, but honestly, let's just leave the debate at that level. It feels pretty stupid to say something like that to someone who doesn't even have a father around... I mean, like, what the hell? 😕🤣
Maybe this sounds a little silly, but I could really use some more specific examples... at least for my own sake.

I think I get why people are getting annoyed here. It’s not actually about what Paul Morales3 was saying when she was acting all tough, talking about how she can just hit the ignore button on Jose Williams while he can't do the same to her because she's a mod. It’s more about the fact that she was basically using a silly little moment to flex those "muscles" she thinks she gained just by changing her username. Exclusively. It's probably just because she finds that particular forum member a bit off-putting.

Look, you've got the wrong person here. I'm not Paul Morales3. And honestly, if you're looking for someone to drag this whole thing out indefinitely, I'm definitely the last person you want to talk to. I really don't have the time or the energy to get sucked into these endless debates.

Paul Morales3 is basically a fresh trend right now, and honestly, it’s going to evolve largely based on how the fashion scene treats it and, more importantly, how you all decide to steer it.
The message she’s been getting from all of you since that first complaint rolled in during her first stint as a moderator says one thing quite clearly— Honestly, who cares what they think? Let them foam at the mouth all they want. We’ll just keep building up those lines, and when they start complaining, we can just shrug and tell them they're being paranoid, narrow-minded, or that they simply don't get the joke. Just keep doing exactly what you're doing. You handle things like a moderator—unshakeable and never feeling the need to offer an apology to anyone.

Look, you're technically her "superior" in this space. If she thinks sending those tiny little bursts of text is an acceptable way to communicate—even if it works for her group of friends—then maybe you should just step in. Tell her to take a breath, write a full sentence or two to get the point across, and then just wrap it up. Simple as that.
Otherwise, you’re just going to end up sinking more and more of your time into things like this.

mom 🤣🤣

You guys can all collectively laugh at how childish this entire argument is if you want—honestly, go ahead—but do you really expect Joshua Jones13 to just march into the middle of a sandbox like some kind of playground monitor, grab a crying Paul Morales3 by the braid, and demand, "Now, apologize to her right this instant!"? 🤷

We caught some kind of nasty computer virus at home—yeah, like, an actual digital plague—so I’ve been totally offline dealing with that mess. I won't stay away for long, but just to give you all a quick heads-up, hopefully this makes sense:

Jose Williams said:But the complaint is specifically about the moderator's conduct—the way she constantly jumps down my throat, her obvious hostility toward me, her arrogance, and how she's abusing her position. I made that very clear in my complaint.

In other words, if it isn't about the moderator herself.

But it is. Ever since she stepped into the moderator role, she's been targeting me. Before that, she never bothered me. If you think I'm making this up, feel free to dig up the last time she actually spoke to me before she became a mod. 🤷
Otherwise, it just falls under personal likes and dislikes, and we don't intervene in that.

Can you explain how a moderator's statement on a PDF claiming everyone's posts are "ad hominem" or "nitpicking" can be brushed off as mere personal bias rather than a direct reflection of how a moderator treats a user?

Actually, you could just answer these three questions:
How am I supposed to expect any objectivity from this moderator when she’s already decided all my posts are just nitpicking and ad hominem attacks?

How can I feel comfortable just chatting about a topic on ZK without being harassed, especially after she basically mocked me by saying I can't even put her on ignore?

Am I asking too much by expecting a baseline of decency and professionalism from a moderator? Because in this case, there isn't even a hint of it; Paul Morales3 has shown the exact opposite.

Or, you're welcome to try and prove me wrong with a few screenshots from ZK where moderators openly tell users they'll be ignored or conclude their posts are stupid, trolling, nitpicking, or ad hominem. If you do that, I'll gladly admit it was my mistake for not realizing that rude and unprofessional behavior from moderators is just accepted as standard practice here at ZK, and that this isn't some special case that deserves an apology.

And yeah, this complaint is strictly about Paul Morales3's behavior. I don't have an agenda here, and I'm not complaining about you or velvettrucker52, regardless of how much you guys gossip about me with people like stormyraven14 outside the forum. On the PDF, you've been perfectly fine. I don't think Paul Morales3's behavior is part of some grand conspiracy to get me kicked off ZK, so there's no need to go off on tangents about things that aren't part of the issue. I asked specific questions and I'd like coherent, relevant answers.

I honestly don't think she misused anything at all.

Joshua Jones13 said:Ace, I think you both poked the bear unnecessarily, and maybe there could have been a bit more tact from either side given the circumstances. I’m totally on board with this point. Honestly, users shouldn't go around expecting mods to act any differently just because of the color of their username, but at the same time, moderators really need to be mindful that they might view certain posts through a different lens when things get heated. A little more tact wouldn't hurt anyone—and I mean that for both sides. It’s all about finding that balance between everyone involved.

I honestly can't get behind that idea at all. Look, we can go back and forth and poke fun at each other all day long, but using moderator tools to target someone on a forum? That just feels cheap. It’s totally unfair to pull those kinds of levers against someone who doesn't even have the power to push back in the same way.

Honestly, Paul Morales3 totally missed the joke, and then she went ahead and dropped this incredibly lame comment that only seems controversial because it was written by a moderator. I really don't think anyone needs to show up at the PŽK over this, especially since we don't start new threads every time two blue-named users get into a scrap—and let’s be real, that happens on ZK every single day. But seriously, her comment was just as bad; she completely failed to catch the punchline!🙂She probably could have skipped that whole bit about geeking out over the modding tools—unless, of course, she was just asking for someone to snatch them right out of her hands and smack her across the face with them! 😳

Look, I’m all for keeping things civil, but when two people on a forum start going at it—which is exactly what happened here—it’s hard to play fair because they just don't have the right tools to settle things properly. It ended up looking pretty messy and, frankly, a bit ugly, but I don't think we need to turn this into some massive, over-the-top drama. That said, I totally get why it rubbed that lady the wrong way; her reaction makes complete sense to me.
