It’s pretty much your standard American fareβ€”predictable and kind of played out, I guessβ€”but still fun enough to watch. 7/10

It looks interesting enough, but honestly, I’ll probably forget all about it by tomorrow morning.

Exactly. It was a pretty predictable flop, just like I thought it would be... That scene with the little girl at the end was really the final straw.

I honestly found the movie so engaging and tense, and man, Liam Neeson is just an absolute legend when it comes to these kinds of thrillers, it feels like he pulls off these intense roles without even breaking a sweat... Julianne Moore was equally captivating too, playing that character with such a twisted, unpredictable edge, she always seems to be teetering right on the brink of losing it. That slow-motion gun scene was seriously peak cinema, haha! I did feel like there was a bit too much unnecessary drama involving the kid, though that kind of thing is pretty much expected in these movies anyway...

spoiler:

Wait, am I really understanding this correctly about the four kidnappers? I'm still a little tripped up on that part where they have their hands tied with those zip ties and then somehow hand Neeson the gun... if you're hijacking a plane, why on earth are you handing him the weapon? And also, were there actually four kidnappers? Because I only caught sight of two of them with parachutes...

It’s a solid action thriller, and honestly, you shouldn't go in expecting some kind of mind-bending masterpiece, but the execution is incredibly effective. The way everything is packaged for Liam and the manner in which the story unfolds keeps you glued to the screen.

stormyridge2 said:Neeson has turned into such a serious actor. It’s honestly a blast to watch. I mean, seriously, why can't kidnappers be a little more creative sometimes? Instead of just demanding cash, why don't they ask for something wild, like having Hillary Clinton film a video with George W. Bush or something crazy like that.

There are two kidnappers.

The guy hands Neeson a gun just to gain his trust, which is clever, but more importantly, he wants Neeson to stay in control of the situation inside the plane itself.

It’s your standard Liam Neeson flick. It manages to stay somewhat engaging until the final stretch, where the momentum starts to plummet rapidly along with the planeβ€”spoiler alert over.

The last ten minutes or so were enough to drag the entire experience down by a grade and a half.

It isn't terrible; it maintains a decent level of suspense and provides some entertainment, but it doesn't offer much beyond that.

Actually, there are three hijackers if you look closer. You've got the guys with the stun guns who eventually hand him the weapon, then you have the tech guy who acts as the programmer and crafts that virus with the image, and finally there's the agent carrying the cocaine who decides to cooperate just because the money is right...

Not a bad movie, though I was a little bummed that Liam didn't just absolutely wreck all those passengers when they jumped him at once. 😬

I honestly went in expecting Cullen Bohannan to have a much bigger role in the story. 😁

At the end of the day, you have to admit it was a solid hitβ€”it pulled in $200 million on a $50 million budget, so I wouldn't be surprised if we see a sequel down the line.

Watched it yesterdayβ€”fun, but honestly, what you see is what you get 😁. I’m just stuck on one thing: why does he turn to him right at the start and mention heading to New York City? I don't see how that even connects to anything 😁

Just so he doesn't seem suspicious.

Well πŸ€”β€”honestly, I’m also looking for some actual logic in a movie like that 🀣.

Nah, all five.
I noticed him right awayβ€”he definitely seemed shady in that scene, so...

It’s a solid piece of workβ€”I wouldn't call it a cinematic masterpiece by any stretch, but it hits exactly the notes it's aiming for, which is what really matters. Honestly, seeing how much money it pulled in at the box office, I wouldn't be surprised at all if they've already started drafting a script for a follow-up adventure πŸ‘

Lupita Nyongo is such a great actress, even if she doesn't show up all that often... I guess she hadn't snagged an Oscar yet when they were filming this movie..

It was a decent enough movie, but honestly, nothing to write home about... I thought Taken was way better...

Liam is fine, though he always seems to have that one specific worried look on his face...

The bomb explosion just didn't feel real at all...

It’s a good movie with a disappointing ending; it would have been way more impactful if it turned out Liam Neeson was actually the villain at the end.

Nah, you can't do it that way. If we want an ending that doesn't feel totally clichΓ©, we have to stick to the truth. This is how it should be, and anything else just wouldn't work.

There is absolutely no wayβ€”he just can't be the villain! 😳

I mean, the man is basically the new Chuck Norris...
