To me, this whole thing feels like a parody of the typical zombie genre—even though the actual plot involves a zombie named "R" who eats some young guy's brains and then somehow falls for the guy's girlfriend, which apparently starts changing the behavior of the other zombies.

So, has anyone actually sat down to watch this movie yet?

I see there's a screening scheduled for this Friday over in Chicago.

That was probably the worst movie I’ve ever sat through in a theater.

I'd only recommend it to masochists.

There are huge plot holes.

The transition from standard zombie tropes to talking zombies who pretend to be people was really clunky. (That's on the director)

The romance feels shallow and a bit forced. (Though I guess you can't really complain about that given what kind of movie this is)

The whole zabadanje šestar in the eye during the Ford commercial scene.

The villains/antagonists felt pointless and weren't actually threatening.

I just didn't find it funny at all.

I might think of other things if I hadn't been so frustrated while watching it in the theater, but I think that covers it.

Nicholas Hoult is such a total snack.

The beginning is awesome, even if it drags a bit later on. It’s a sladunjav movie, but honestly, that's just how those types of films work. This one was sladunjav in a really cute way, and I had a blast watching it at the theater. Did I mention Nicholas Hoult?

Do you think this would be a good pick for a movie night with my girlfriend? 😁

Good question. I've been wondering the same thing since I'm tired of waiting for a movie that's actually fun for guys but still feels like a solid chick flick for couples. 🙂

I was honestly worried all the good jokes would be wasted in the buildup and I'd end up hating the movie—but it actually wasn't bad at all. Honestly, you just need to watch stuff like this with a great crowd and the right vibe 😍 it’s not really meant for nitpicking the script, it's just there for the ride. though, if you're feeling deep, I guess there's a metaphorical layer about alienation and accepting outsiders and blah blah blah, if you're into that kind of thing. It's a zombie film, okay.

I remember that guy from Twilight, he's awesome. And yeah, I think it’s a solid pick for young couples who just want to laugh. btw, the lead girl's friend 👍 is genius

I find it hard to believe it actually holds a 7.3 rating.🙂

I thought the movie was great—super fun and hilarious. Honestly, I didn't really expect much going in, so I couldn't have been disappointed even if I wanted to. But yeah, still a blast 🙂

It is almost transparent; they even went so far as to cast Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart as the leads.

It’s basically been done to death: we’ve had the teen romance with vampires, werewolves, lycans, and witches, so it’s only logical that zombies would be next in line. 🤷

The movie isn't terrible, but it doesn't hit the mark either. If they had just leaned into a dark comedy angle or even a standard comedy, it might have worked. As it stands, it just feels super lukewarm and boring. 🙄

The problem is that zombies simply don't belong in the realm of Romantic Gothicism. They can't, really, because at their core, they are nothing more than wandering, decaying carcasses—merely aesthetic window dressing used to decorate the scenery of post-apocalyptic sci-fi.

I am honestly so relieved I didn't head to the theater and waste my hard-earned cash on this one. In my opinion—and I know this might be a hot take—the IMDb rating is way too high.

I’m totally with you—the IMDb crowd definitely overrated this one.
The movie is alright, I guess, but it’s definitely not something I’d pay theater prices for or even bother rewatching on TV at home.

It’s just one of those "watch it once and forget it" kind of flicks.

Honestly, this movie was such a slog. You might be able to power through the first 30 minutes, but after that—well, it starts feeling like actual torture.
