jadegull15 said:Oh, I know, believe me, I am well aware of those rather harsh realities.

I find myself wondering just how hypocritical our members—especially the ones with all the special privileges—can be, allowing
this kind of behavior to persist for over a decade now; though, I guess it's possible many of them simply possess a certain immunity,
much like politicians do, which I suppose allows them to operate on that same level altogether.

Now, I am firmly against any forum member expressing themselves in a way that is inappropriate toward others—you know, things like chauvinism, fascism, or xenophobia—and I truly believe the
moderators should step in immediately in those cases.
That isn't the issue at hand.
The real problem, I think, is when people try to slap a metaphorical Band-Aid over someone's mouth just because they spoke a word, or perhaps a fact,
a confirmed fact, or even just written truths...

Under the guise of a false sense of democracy, this forum has essentially become...
We are living in a sort of modern global fascism, except maybe it just goes by a different name nowadays, otherwise, I doubt it would be considered
acceptable.

You're talking nonsense—no offense meant—you wrote all sorts of things without backing a single one up with an example. Your post has nothing to do with the current topic here; critiques like that belong in Politics or the Lifestyle section.

I think my own situation serves as plenty of an example, don't you? I mean, why exactly was I penalized?
Was it for trolling?
I suppose if I just sat there wagging my tail and nodding my head like a happy little puppy, everything would be perfectly fine, wouldn't it? That's how it works, right...

But honestly, you’re the one trolling right now, especially since the topic at hand was supposed to be about football, not politics or anything else, so this whole unnecessary punishment feels completely misplaced.
It was a thread about sports, not some political debate.

At the end of the day, I’m just criticizing the general state of things on this forum, and I believe I have every right to do that.

Go be somewhere else—this isn't your spot.

Anthony Jackson2, can we get an American Major League Soccer chat thread going? What about a "MLS Corner"? A dedicated spot where the MLS crowd can joke around, swap takes, and maybe engage in a little lighthearted trolling? I feel like quite a few fans aren't really finding their tribe here on Offside; the MLS crowd has its own specific way of talking shop. It’s much more laid back—we could rotate the topics, keep things lively, and avoid all that heavy-handed negativity, mindless political debates, and the general nonsense that seems to clutter up most of Offside these days.
Since we have to keep things strictly civil without any spamming or trolling over on the official MLS boards, and since the atmosphere here has felt a bit stale lately, why don't we try launching an MLS Chat thread?

Paul Martinez73 is right on the money. Someone please start another thread that isn't about geopolitics. I'm absolutely drowning in political commentary, both online and in my actual life. I can't deal with reading one more thing about who's an undercover agent, who's a spy, or who's part of some "fifth column" breaching our borders. It completely kills the hype for me and just leaves me feeling depressed. Then again, I suppose it’s obvious that in this day and age, people feel the need to dissect it all.

A warm welcome to our newest moderator. 🙂

It seems the moderation team neglected to announce that we have gained a new member, gentlemen. ☕

We really ought to start a dedicated thread just for officiating. Honestly, we've already hit our quota for referee analysis this season between the games involving the Dallas Cowboys and the Green Bay Packers. It would make way more sense if people used that specific thread to talk about player movements, big plays, scoring chances, the atmosphere, or the clubs themselves. Right now, this place is just turning into a weekly loop of "was that a foul?" or "yellow card," "red card," "penalty." If you're actually looking to debate the refs, go find the other thread.

The thread already exists; you clearly haven't been paying attention. Everything regarding Batcave is right there.☕

Thanks. I didn't even notice. Now I need to go clean up the MLS thread so we only have actual game footage and refereeing calls left in there. 🙂

Alright folks, I’m going to need that PDF from you again. With the World Cup in Qatar kicking off soon—as usual—we need volunteers to step up, contribute their part to the upcoming PPDF, and get these group threads started.

neonorca38 has already claimed the thread for Group B, so everything else is wide open. The deadline is just a couple of days before the tournament begins.

It’s first come, first served.

I don't really follow much besides the Premier League, but if you guys happen to be short on volunteers, I'm happy to jump in and lead a group if needed.☕

I'll take C—that leaves D, E, F, and G on the table.

Since the folks above mentioned they're handling two, we've still got three open slots left.

The championship is right around the corner—better to get this sorted and finished sooner rather than later.

I thought there would be a rush on this, so I didn't want to step on anyone's toes.😁

Alright, I'll grab Group D. I'll have my draft ready in about 3 or 4 days.

By the time this whole nightmare in Riyadh finally wraps up, we’ll probably have H
