Taylor Morales31 said:Look, I already told you—I’d much rather just stay out of it entirely.

Look, let’s be real: conflict is baked into every single relationship from day one. It's inevitable. And as for this guy’s testimony? It doesn't mean a damn thing. He grew up without a father—the man literally has no concept of what that looks like. Honestly, you can raise a kid without a mother too, and life goes on just the same. Moving on.

Look, this is just not right in my book. I’m telling you, do whatever you want with your own lives, but at least leave the kids out of it. They haven't done anything to deserve this. Especially since you all grew up in a hetero community—you didn't deny yourselves that experience. Sure, you didn't choose how you were born, but at least you had that option available to you...

If we’re talking Adam and Eve, then it’s Adam and Eve—it isn't just "Adam and Adam." That’s my take on it. Just like that's yours, we’re clearly not going to see eye-to-eye on this one. Look, I have absolutely nothing against you being with your wife, but honestly? I just feel for the kids.

Look, here’s the reality of the situation: even if you two want to have a kid, you still need a man—or at least his DNA. At the end of the day, we're talking about biology, and you can't just bypass the fact that it comes from a male. It’s the exact same logic as two men needing a woman to carry and give birth to a child. You can't run away from the biological necessity of a woman in that equation either. Period.
And of course, you all claim to love your own kids, your fathers, and your mothers—yet somehow, you’re perfectly fine with stripping those exact same rights away from these children. It’s blatant, it's reckless, and frankly, it's just plain disrespectful.

Look, I went a little overboard there, but what can I say? It is what it is.

Look, I didn't insult anyone. This is just my opinion. Take a second and actually think about it. Peace.

You are truly just a narrow-minded homophobe.
Do you have any idea what happens to kids in the foster care system? Have you ever actually stepped foot inside a state-run group home?
It's sad but true: those kids in the system are taught trades—often criminal ones. Once they hit eighteen and age out, they're just tossed out onto the street to fend for themselves. Where do you think most of them end up heading?

Have you seen the reality of these homes? The amount of abuse and exploitation? Have you seen how certain "high society" old men in cities like Chicago used to line up to exploit young girls? And you think *that* is better than them having same-sex parents who would give them every ounce of love possible? Your views are so closed-minded that you don't even realize you aren't actually "protecting" children. If you actually cared, you'd understand that a child needs love and a warm home, not some neglected institutional facility. Disgusting.

The nonsense on MK is exactly what it is—stupid to some, hilarious to others. It’s perfectly suited for those of us who spend our time rambling around there.
And yeah, whether people like it or not, the funniest part of most MK threads is when random outsiders swoop in, feeling somehow entitled to explain to us exactly "where we're going wrong." 🙏
If anyone is confused about the vibe we're going for on MK, they should probably take a moment to actually read the Real Women on MK 🤣
rules. A little bit of actual sense mixed in with the humor is always welcome. 😉
You can find good banter on pretty much any sub-forum, but on the "serious" ones, those threads usually get locked or deleted once everyone starts losing their minds. On MK, we don't do that, because the whole point of this sub-forum is to be casual and talk absolute trash whenever you feel like it.
Nobody is explicitly forbidden from showing up and trying to lecture us on how to joke around; honestly, nothing would make us happier. 😁
There’s really only one danger here: what if you actually end up wanting to stay on MK? 😬

This constant refrain whenever MK gets mentioned completely misses the mark.

The issue isn't whether people are allowed to joke around on MK or how they do it; the real question is why that kind of behavior is exclusive to MK. If you look at recent history, similar antics on Reddit—which is supposed to act as a sort of "mirror image" of the PDF style—have led to vastly different outcomes.

What remains unclear is why, for instance, while everyone is busy fighting to protect certain characters or specific elements of MK, the notorious Kurtzius kura is simultaneously being slammed for supposedly "LJES-style" horrific violence against women—all based on sentences that would be laughed off as weak or overly sensitive if they were posted on MK.

The standard excuse offered is some kind of "independent PDF politics," which is frankly a joke: regardless of whether a sentence is written on this platform or another, its weight should remain the same. In a situation where you can speak one way on one site—because it caters to "those who ramble there"—yet face intense bias on another for much more benign comments, the entire set of rules becomes a farce.

Just because the woman who started the thread completely lost her footing in her own posts—which, I might add, felt like a gift from above to many of us—it doesn't mean the core issue has lost its scale or its importance.

Setting MK aside for a second, let’s be real—not all subreddits are created equal. You can't just allow the same level of "relaxed rules" everywhere, because if you did, some sections would absolutely fall apart given the topics they cover. I’m sure you know that better than anyone, trust me.

Regular explanations act as a sort of "independent subreddit policy."

The core Reddit rules apply to every single subreddit, though how strictly those rules are actually enforced can vary from one community to the next, sometimes with their own unique little twists and additions depending on the group.

And honestly, that applies to MK too.

I realize that not all subreddits are "identical"—look, at least this time nobody (so far 😁) has shoved Politics down my throat. But I’m not actually looking for total uniformity among all subreddits; I’m talking about those that exist somewhere in the middle regarding how casual they are. In what way is ŽK somehow "less identical" than MK? And finally, by what logic is LJES any less similar to MK?

But that isn't even the whole story. Fine, for the sake of moving this discussion forward, I will concede that the opening post in that thread was just trolling. However, if you actually looked at the thread, you would have seen clear instances of hateful sentences that weren't just jokes—and they were written right here on Reddit. When someone writes "drop dead" to another user, that happens on Reddit, and it doesn't matter whether it's happening in a joking MK thread or some other subreddit.

I’ll say it again: all those mistakes listed by kurin (and, if I understood correctly, the admin went through quite a bit of trouble to list examples of transgressions from years ago) are absolutely nothing compared to the (again, non-joking) statements written there. How else are we supposed to interpret his bias, if not as pure intolerance toward anyone who dares to challenge him? I've already said this: his views are a massive red flag for me too—but I dealt with that by breaking them down, mocking them, or whatever else was necessary.

Didn't someone say, "we need trolls too"? 😬

It’s basically because the current moderation team over at LJESa is being "stricter" right now—or maybe they just have different standards—than the crew over at MK. Once some new mods eventually step in at LJESa, things might shift; we might see more joking around or, conversely, even tighter control. At the end of the day, the mods and the community work together to shape the vibe of PDF, giving it its own unique flavor while making sure everyone sticks to the Reddit forum rules.

Look, you can either deal with people like that or just crush them. Some folks simply don't have the backbone to handle it, so they just back off. Sure, we definitely need trolls around—and let’s face it, there are plenty of them lurking in the LJESa threads—but what we really need is a solid, regular audience to keep things grounded.

Just because the woman who started the thread completely lost her footing in her own posts—which, I might add, felt like a gift from above to many of us—it doesn't mean the core issue has lost its scale or its importance.

And the point is basically, "I don't get the joke, so the joke is stupid."👍

It’s not about whether you can joke on MK or why you can; it’s about why those same jokes are only allowed on MK. Looking back at history, similar crap would have had much different consequences even on the Politics sub, which is supposed to be a "mirror image of the PDF."

Luckily, the crew moderating the Politics sub is just as good at telling the difference between banter and actual harassment. Even though I haven't been tearing it up over there for a few months, I don't recall a single one of my posts being reported or getting me a strike. And no, I don't have some mod, admin, or Saint Peter protecting me—my posts get "rewarded" based on merit, just like everyone else's.

What isn't clear is how, while fighting to protect certain characters and parts of MK, they go after notorious Kurtzius kura with this supposedly LJESa-level horrific violence against women, all for sentences that would be laughed off on MK as weak or soft.

The usual excuse is some kind of "independent PDF politics," which is a total joke: whether a sentence is written on this sub or that one, the weight of it remains exactly the same. When you can talk like a lunatic on one sub because it fits "those people rambling there," but get penalized on another for much more benign comments, the whole rulebook becomes a farce.

Hmm, I'm not sure how to put this more gently... women post on MK too. Those same women mess around with us and laugh right along with us during the rants and debates that nobody with half a brain takes seriously.
As long as they aren't coming in to play the "concerned citizen" over something totally unprovoked. If they do, then it's not an issue with the group having a good time; it's an issue with that specific person.

Just because the girl who started the thread completely lost her mind in her follow-up posts—which felt like a gift from heaven to everyone else—doesn't mean the original issue lost its scale or importance.

Or that there was even an issue to begin with. You're just refusing to look at the other side of the coin—and if you won't look at it, then for all intents and purposes, that side doesn't exist, right? 😉

If they're being strict, 😁🤣then they're the worst mods on Reddit. In my opinion, you all should be removed from there immediately; that sub-forum is failing specifically because of the last few disastrously bad LJES mods... clearly, you have no idea what you're doing or how to moderate such an eternally popular and widely read section. And it seems others there are noticing too, even those who weren't directly targeted by threats of violence, by the way...

This thread turned into a total troll fest right from the start with all that talk about breaking arms, knocking teeth out, shoving people down stairs, and other nasty stuff that the mods didn't even address with a warning. So, I'll just take this opportunity to emphasize that breaking arms, knocking teeth out, and things like that (inflicting serious bodily harm) does not qualify as necessary self-defense, cannot be justified by acting in the heat of the moment, and is punishable under the Family Law of the United States.

bluerider41... you’re being cold and unresponsive, which unfortunately means you can't react (or maybe you can, it doesn't matter). But look, the essence of MK and its players is well known to you. It is honestly baffling to me that you took such a serious, worthy topic like homosexuality and posted it right here on this PDF politics board. Whether it was intentional or not, I won't dwell on it, but what exactly did you expect from posting this? An academic debate? Or perhaps you thought we’d all just smile and applaud your attempt to get us to validate your personal inclinations and life beliefs?

The reality is you just don't get it. There is absolutely no hidden or overt intention here to mock or trivialize homosexuality in any real sense. What’s being mocked is your specific approach, your tone, and how you presented a topic that was originally sparked on MK. A topic with that much connotation—presented and forced the way you did it—simply doesn't belong on MK.

In several posts, it has been made crystal clear to you (and your supporters) that you have two choices: either embrace the banter or walk away. Instead of picking one of those two viable options, you chose a third, unacceptable path. You started attacking people and throwing tantrums, which, predictably, backfired.

You're young; I understand your drive to share your perspective and worldview. The only issue—one you stubbornly refuse to acknowledge—is that you expressed your views in the wrong place, using a tone and format that didn't fit. Your style of communication offends the very spirit and foundation of MK, and by extension, offends the regular members, men and women alike, who come here to find their corner of sarcasm and laughter. Because of that, you couldn't even bring yourself to read posts that were different from your own.

I hope you catch my drift. I’m inviting you to join us if you have a sense of humor, especially when it comes to yourself. If not, don't hold it against us for joking about an issue you consider vital. Just bypass this corner for your own sake, not ours.

It’s written pretty clearly, so I'll just quote it:

The guys' corner. For beer lovers, remote control addicts, verbal chauvinism, and all that other guy talk...

I mean, what part of that isn't clear?!

All we need now is for people from overseas to start judging us over those old Mujo jokes. 😁

vividorca9 said:Don't go shoving me into that category just because I'm trying to be objective. For the record, I’m a huge advocate for Gay rights. But honestly? It’s not that deep. Two guys or two girls kissing or sleeping together isn't some massive crisis. 🤷

Honestly, it’s neither realistic nor smart to allow same-sex couples to adopt children in this country right now. We need more time—a lot of time—for things to actually stabilize in that regard. I mean, what are you even talking about? Kids in schools bully each other just because their parents are poor; do you seriously think they won't act out just because they have two moms or two dads? The human brain is wired to react to anything different with confusion or outright aversion. It needs to be trained—and I’m sorry to have to say it like this—to accept diversity. If you think it's a smart move to open up adoption to you guys right here and now, then you're being, quite frankly, delusional. And that has nothing to do with your sexual orientation. Don't take it personally; I really didn't intend to insult you.

Look, when it comes to the whole argument that adoption or IVF by gay couples somehow "takes away" someone's mother or father—I completely disagree. But I’m not going to get into a massive debate about it right here, because you guys will just give me a headache. You’ve still got a hell of a long fight ahead of you before that kind of thing is even an option in this country.

But they’re also having sex. 😲
