They actually caught it during my first military physical. They told me it might just be lack of sleep or all the soda I was drinking, but after retaking the test, the levels were still slightly elevated. A few years later, I did the tests again and they were still a little high, but nobody gave me any real advice on what to do about it. So, I just live with it.
I wanted to ask—you mentioned sleep affects it. I have a really hard time sleeping. I usually have to be completely exhausted before I can even pass out. I just can't fall asleep early.
As for alcohol, I can drink a lot, get hammered, and then feel the effects for an entire week afterward. 😁 Even now, I’m still feeling the fallout from this past Saturday. I’ll probably be dealing with this hangover for another two or three days. Honestly, over the last few years, I’ve frequently ended up throwing up after a night of heavy drinking. I don't drink often, but when I do, I almost always have to puke the next day. It's brutal.
And weight. If I wasn't on a strict diet, I’d probably weigh 500 pounds. I wouldn't say I'm "on" a diet per se, but I could eat a whole steak and gain weight instantly.
Anyway, I just Googled Gilbert's syndrome in case this helps anyone else.
