I currently have two of my own threads sitting open, and I was wondering if there’s some way to get a little nudge when I log back onto the forum to let me know if anyone has actually posted something new in them? It feels like such a chore to manually click into every single topic just to check for updates... though, I should clarify, I’m not looking for an email notification or anything intrusive like that. Is there a subtle way to handle this within the site itself?

On a completely different note, could someone enlighten me as to what exactly this subscription thing entails?

Thanks 🙂

What on earth am I supposed to do with this new situation? I'm asking for a little bit of grace here, if you can call it that. 😁

Look, you can tell just by glancing at those little icons next to the thread title or even the font color. If the blue is dark and looks bolded, there’s a new message waiting for you. If it’s all pale and thin? Nothing new.

And if you actually want to see what's going on, I guess you'd have to go ahead and scroll through the thread itself...

Subscribe to your favorite threads like I've shown in this picture (click it if you need a better look).

When someone replies to a thread you're following, you'll get an email notification. That’s what subscribing actually does.

You can also check which of those threads are active by clicking "Option" on the blue bar at the top—right next to where the buttons for CNN, Medium, and Marketing are...

Oh, I should probably mention one more thing—once you subscribe to a thread, they’ll give you a few different John Doe settings to play with. If you aren't looking to clog up your inbox, just pick the "no email notification" setting... keeps things quiet.

The next time you drop by the site, just head up to that blue bar at the top—you know, the one where you see CNN.com, Medium, Marketing, Option, and so on—and click on Option. It'll pull up a list of every thread you're following that actually has new posts waiting for you.

From there, just hit that little blue arrow next to the thread title, and it'll jump you straight to the very first unread post since the last time you checked in. 🙂

well... my sincere thanks to all of you... 😍
I suppose I’m asking because, quite frankly, I can no longer recall where I’ve left things or even which specific topics I was weighing in on, and I find myself genuinely curious about finding an answer to that little mystery...

There’s also this little trick... you just head over to your profile, click on statistics, and boom, it spits this out at you:

Everything is right there in one spot. You can jump straight into any thread you want from there. Why make it harder than it needs to be?
