Having technical issues on Reddit? Ask here.

This is what I’m running into on my phone.
I’ve got an adblocker running on my PC, though.

Yeah, I'm reading this on my phone since my laptop is totally dead right now, and it's gonna stay that way for a bit.

Honestly, I've never run into an issue like this on my phone before...🤷

Is there any way to actually fix this? What am I supposed to do?

Every single time I click on a thread, these massive ads just slam into the right side of the page and cover everything up. Like, I can't even see the end of the posts because the sidebar ads are just sitting right on top of the text.
And it’s not just one page either; it happens every time I try to load something new.

Sometimes, if I'm really patient and slowly, painstakingly scroll down, I can manage to navigate back to where I was, but most of the time, it’s just a lost cause.
It’s making it such a pain to actually read anything here, though I guess I don't post much myself anyway.

Can we get some help with this? Any mods out there who can fix this mess?

I've been running into the exact same issue, but usually, it just settles down after a minute or so. You basically just have to sit there and wait until the "ads" finally snap into their proper alignment.

I'm pretty sure there's a way to deal with this using an ad blocker, but honestly, I'm totally clueless when it comes to that kind of stuff. 🙂

That's why I asked here. Maybe someone actually knows how to fix this. I'm clueless when it comes to ad blocking and all that technical nonsense, so if anyone can help a girl out... :-)

Honestly, this forum has gone downhill fast when it comes to these technical issues.

Just download Tapatalk. It’s still riddled with ads unless you want to shell out for a monthly subscription, but at least it won't give you those constant headaches.

You won't run into the same headache. Just install it and see for yourself.

I find myself experiencing the exact same issue. I usually have to refresh the page two or three times before the layout finally settles into place. Occasionally, simply scrolling up and down is enough to snap everything back into alignment. It seems the advertisements tend to shift most frequently when I open a new tab or upon my initial entry to the forum...

I just tried scrolling up and down a few times really quick and it actually fixed itself. Tnx 👍
But then it happens again every time I hit a new page... So I'm gonna download Tapatalk and see if that works better.

So I installed it, but the ads are still driving me crazy 😵

Do I actually need to link this Tapatalk thing to the forum, or what? I don't really get how any of this works...

I just downloaded the app, and then it starts suggesting these interest groups—you know, stuff like finance, hobbies, entertainment, art, sports, business—and it basically tries to push all these different forums on you based on those categories.

But out of everything it shows, I only care about Reddit.
Do I just install Tapatalk and then go back to using Google Chrome like I always do to access Reddit, or am I missing a step here?

Just use the search function right there in the Tapatalk app and type in the site name. I’ve attached a screenshot below to make it easier. Once you find the forum, just tap in and log in using your credentials—Sophia Lee53 and your usual password.

Honestly, the technical support on this forum has gone downhill fast.

If you want to browse this site without being bombarded by ads, just download Opera Mini and you'll be set.

It has a built-in ad blocker for every website, which makes everything load way faster—even on a crappy connection. 👍

That’s my best advice. (I've been using Opera for years).
