Hey there...

It’s been over two months since my laparoscopic surgery... the incisions are still all raised up and dark purple, though the scabs have finally fallen off...

I’ve been using Dermatix...

Is this actually normal? My doctor mentioned they might look even worse right now than they did right after the surgery 😕

If this is just how it goes, what does the healing process usually look like from here?

You mentioned using calendula ointment

My wife has been applying Contractubex to her laparoscopic incisions (I can't remember the exact name off the top of my head, but I'll shoot you a text with the details later)
I think it’s pretty similar to what you’ve been using
The scars have regained a normal color, but they're still raised and visible—honestly, they'll probably stay that way forever
At that point, your only real option is plastic surgery

There's also an Avène scar cream called Cicalfate—I think Tilla was raving about it

I mean, I get that they’re supposed to be lighter and kind of raised up, but these ones look totally purple to me 😁

Don't even mess with me 😁 my doctor gave me such a hard time about my discharge because I wasn't just lying in bed all day 😬

Anyway, what I really want to know is... are these colors normal for this stage? 😬

I stumbled upon this thread, and while there's a ton of talk about different creams, nobody really says if this whole thing is just a normal phase or what

If you're feeling the same way, I’m still dealing with a scar from a procedure I had back in October of last year, and it's still stuck being this bright purple color. 😬

No, it wasn't stitched up; it just healed this way... entirely on its own. 😬

For scars, a solid combo is rosehip oil and calendula ointment.
Personally, I just have that tiny little mark on my belly button, looks just like an old piercing.

Alright everyone! So—I had this tattoo surgically removed about a month ago. Everything went fine, I guess? My doctor hasn't taken the bandage off yet, but I peeked under there a bit... and yeah, there’s basically just a hole where they took the skin out. Is that normal or what?
So now I’m sitting here wondering—is this spot actually going to fill in at all over time? Or am I just stuck with a permanent crater even after some plastic surgeon gives me the usual "it'll look totally fine" speech? Seriously, help a girl out—any advice?

The divots will fill in. It takes a bit of time, but it’ll turn out fine. I totally panicked when I first saw my own indentations—they looked like deep potholes after surgery—but fast forward two months and they've filled in 🙂 basically leveled out 😁.
