Daniel Lopez said:seriously, tell your old man thanks so much! 🙏 🙂

next time I’m definitely throwing this in the freezer, honestly we’ve already polished off half of it 😁

man, what even is that... like 5 liters? 😁

I'll make sure to give him a huge thanks 🙂

plus, you’re totally invited to the official tasting of his secret recipe 🙂

You can follow the same process to make floral petal syrups—think roses, violets, dandelions, and things like that. Just make sure you double-check that whatever flowers you pick are actually safe to eat. 😉

Just a quick tip for you all: flower heads are usually crawling with tiny bugs and ants. To fix that, let them soak in some water with a bit of baking soda first, then strain them out... all the debris will settle right at the bottom.

Oh! Thank you!🙂

So, how long can he leave it out at room temperature before it actually goes bad?

Daniel Lopez said:oh! thanks 🙂

so, uh, how long can it actually sit out when it isn't chilled before it starts going bad?

so I just called my dad 😁 😁 hahaha

and he was like 🙂

he’s basically saying don't leave it out because there's zero room left in the fridge...

but I guess the main thing is just keeping it away from the heat (you know, like at a temperature where it might start to "cook" or ferment or whatever) 🙂
yeah
🙂 here

He said this:🙂

He’s worried about them because there isn't enough room in the fridge...

The main thing is keeping them out of the heat—basically avoiding any temperature where they might start "cooking" or fermenting prematurely.🙂

Here we go:🙂

Oh man, mine is sitting right here in the kitchen cabinet... I need to run and get those three bottles into the fridge immediately.🙂

I'll be right back.😁

That dandelion syrup is another classic old-school remedy for respiratory stuff... I really hope Tija knows this or happens to be reading this...

Spot on 👍

I actually ended up having some of that myself 😁

I also drink this regularly and have my fill of Coca-Cola, but today I found myself completely stumped by a question from a friend, which went something like this:
"Are you actually aware of how many calories are in that soda? Honestly, if you finish a whole liter of that stuff, you won't even need to eat for the rest of the day."
PSMTR 😢 , yet here I am, sipping on it nonstop.

It’s probably because of all the sugar inside. Honestly, I don't even want to think about it.😁

By the way, I think the syrup sitting in my pantry might have changed flavor a bit over the last few days while it was so hot outside.😢

Nobody else at home notices, but I can definitely tell it isn't quite the same anymore. Is it actually possible for it to go bad after just three hot days?

I guarantee the starter spoiled immediately, though you can still drink it; it’s actually quite good for digestion 😁

Don't worry, you'll get through it, and next time you'll know exactly what to expect. I actually had ten liters go bad on me the very first time I tried it, but hey, we still managed to drink it all anyway. 😁

Well, there isn't much left... maybe about 3 liters. 😁

Alright, I've got it down for next time.

Just wanted to brag a little—I finally whipped up some Barack Obama juice...
Turns out I ended up with 4 liters instead of the planned 6...
But man, it’s good. After all these years, that scent hits just the same,,,,🙂

So my husband is all like:

25 big flower blooms
10 liters of water
5 kilos of sugar
15 grams of citric acid

Okay, now check this out:
Let the flowers sit in the water for a day, then strain it. Boil the sugar until it hits a rolling boil, let it cool down, but not totally. At the same time, you warm up the bottles in hot water. Then just pour it all in...

If you're lucky, you'll see some bubbles popping up after about a month. 😁

And if luck is on your side, you might even find a few petals floating around.
Or maybe you've already got those bubbles going! 😁

My grandmother and the old lady make elderberry juice by the gallon—one batch is a mix of black and red berries.
It’s nonsense. It tastes off to me. Plus, when the old lady starts daydreaming and mixes a bit of cherry syrup in there, it's even worse.

Coca-Cola is disgusting. I don't know, that blend just doesn't sit right with me.

And this flower-based syrup? She’s never actually made it before.🤔
Maybe it’s because I grew up in some middle-of-nowhere backwater where nobody knew anything about these kinds of blossoms...😁

I finally tracked down this thread! 😁

I'm just glad I noted which recipe I used on the first page, otherwise I’d be stuck asking everyone for it all over again. :rof:

I've decided to stick with the original method. I really don't feel like experimenting with anything new right now. 😁

Pepsi 😍

I absolutely love blueberry blossom juice, and that berry wine is top-tier!
but nothing beats deep-fried flowers 🙂
