Daniel Lopez said:How can you say that? My mom wanted to write down their recipe for them just last week...

You end up with a prescription that lets you buy the pills ten times over.—just an observation.
They cost $23. Some amount of dollars or so—I don't recall the exact figure.
She took her first dose today.🙂

Well, she told me earlier they aren't covered by insurance—meaning you have to pay out of pocket.
Actually, everything is covered by insurance, but you still end up paying a co-pay. It works that way.

Only Cilest and Logest are paying up—honestly, I haven't the slightest clue about the others.

All I care about is what they say regarding smoking. 😁Anyone know about this? Like, does mixing pills and cigarettes actually mess things up? Just asking generally... pills + cigarettes... anyone got the scoop?

Yeah, whatever... Logest is the new kid on the block and looks like everyone's churning it out. But it's not exactly a guaranteed win—you have to pay for it.

It says right here that for women smokers over 35, the risk of heart disease goes way up. Not even kidding.🙄

Update — finally feeling good after six months. Everything’s settled now. Breasts are back in place, and the pain is finally gone. 😁

Been at Logest for a week now. Doesn't look too bad so far—appetite hasn't gone crazy, no water retention issues, no headaches either...

Catch you guys in 2 weeks 😉

Anyone ever have those days where you just totally blank on taking your pill?

Never.

On a few occasions, I’ve sipped something a little later than usual, but skipping?
Never.

I skipped my 🙄 dose yesterday. We went out, stayed out late, and I completely blanked on taking it. Just finally got around to it an hour ago, even though it was supposed to be at 9 PM last night. Honestly, I’m a little rattled. A friend of mine had a massive flare-up after missing hers—she thought she was actually going to die from the pain 🙄

It all depends on which brand you’re taking. For some, it kicks in after just a few hours; for others, there’s absolutely no effect at all.

Besides, I take mine in the morning right after brushing my teeth. I always keep a small pack in my wallet, separate from the ones I keep at home. You never know where life might take you.🙄 😁

Same here. 😁 😁 😁 I remember being at this dive bar once, and this guy—just totally out of line—starts digging through my purse. Then he looks at me and goes, "What's this?" I just told him, "Birth control." 😁 😁 😁 Honestly, he looked more embarrassed than I did. If he’d been even more stubborn, you know how some guys are, I probably would've ended up at the police station being questioned as a drug suspect. 😁

I explicitly stated those pills were FOR headaches 😁

At the border, they questioned me 😉

jadetinker85 said:Hey guys, has anyone ever had those days where you just totally forget to take your pill?

Yeah, definitely.

My aunt—she’s a doctor—told me things are still fine if you manage to get that pill down within a 12-hour window.
Though, honestly, you aren't 100% protected then either. (Then again, when are we ever actually 100%?

😉 )

I’ve switched to the patch now (also hormonal birth control), so there isn't really anything left for me to forget. 🙂

When I was on the pills, though, I kept the pack in my bedroom dresser—even if I tucked a backup pack in my purse, I’d end up completely confused for days trying to figure out which pack I was actually on.

Look, I’m terrible at navigating this site. I can’t figure out how to send private messages or start a fresh thread, so I’m basically begging for a favor here. I need a solid gynecologist recommendation, and honestly, where else am I gonna ask if not here?
thanks in advance for the help🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏

Though you aren't looking at 100% protection anymore. (And honestly, was it ever really 100%?

.

Look, I'm not even worried about getting pregnant. It's more about avoiding what my friend went through—that brutal bleeding and those stomach cramps. It was awful. Hopefully everything turns out fine; I took the pill, but it’s been over 12 hours now.🙄

jadetinker85,

Look—at least don't go seven days without protection—or use withdrawal if you must—but give it a week first. After that, we can play by our own rules. It’ll be easy enough...

How much do you actually care about me 😁

I have to watch my step. Don't want to catch strains 15, 16, or 17 and get banned from the forum. 😁 🙂

Was she definitely safe from other causes if she just missed that pill? (Assuming nothing else was going on?)

Of course—you still have to take the pill and finish the whole pack, even if the contraception isn't really reliable at this point.

Where on earth are you getting this advice?

You have no idea which pill she’s on—say, if she’s only twenty-one days into a month-long cycle—so seven days of "being careful" doesn't mean a thing. She needs to stay protected until the entire cycle wraps up; until she starts a brand new pack, she isn't 100% safe.

Please—when you're handing out these "professional" tips—think about what kind of mess you could actually make of someone's life. 😠
