Jack Hall7 said:When are people actually going to realize that Yasmin doesn't even have real hormones—it’s just straight-up Logest... honestly, almost every gynecologist out there admits it by now.🤣

Yeah, digging up an old thread here... but Logest has the lowest hormone dose. That’s what I was on three years ago, and I’m starting back up again now. My OB-GYN told me today that my levels are at rock bottom, so I have to take it at the exact same time every day—give or take maybe half an hour max. Anyone else still on Logest?
I've never had any side effects, but somehow it feels like girls just don't really use them?

@celesta, my mom says, and my godmother says, they call those "old wives' tales." No offense intended, it’s just an expression.🙂 Birth control pills protect eggs because women don't release them every month. Every woman is born with a finite number of eggs that decreases over time. As a woman ages, the quality of those eggs declines. Therefore, if ovulation doesn't occur monthly, those eggs remain, which logically should make them "better." Even if a woman gets pregnant while on the pill—due to missing a dose or being inconsistent—the baby shouldn't be affected. So, old wives' tales; your acquaintance was simply unlucky.😢

I have heard all the nonsense too—don't take the pill or you won't be able to conceive later, you'll gain weight, it will ruin your skin... None of that happened to me! And I have been on hormones for seven years now.

@vision one—Logest, Yaz, and the patch all contain the same amount of estrogen. None of them have the lowest dosage; that would be the hormonal ring.

Michelle Vaughn18 said:So, I took my last Diane pill on Sunday and still haven't gotten my period. Is that actually normal or what?
It’s only been about a month since I started the Diane pills. If nothing happens by Monday, should I just keep going with the next pack on Monday or skip it?
And honestly, could it be because of that one time I missed my dose? I usually take it at 9 PM, but that once I didn't get to it until 7 AM the next morning.

???

That’s fine; you don't necessarily have to experience a missed period during the first three months—those are certainly possible side effects.

Hey,

Quick question—has anyone ever dealt with any spotting or bleeding when they first started on the pill? Just wondering if that’s normal at the beginning. Thanks!🙏

I’ve been on the pill for about six months now, and I’m planning to get off it soon. I’m really curious about what to expect when my first period hits—are we talking about those intense cramps coming back full force, or maybe it lasting seven days or more?

Right now, all my girlfriends are either on birth control or have never touched it, so I’m basically flying blind here. I honestly have no idea what to expect.

Honestly, once I stopped, everything just went back to how it used to be—pain and all the length too! 😢

My cycle got all messed up lately; it’s been stretched out way longer than usual. Honestly, I didn't deal with intense cramps or long durations before this, so I can't really speak to your specific situation, but things will likely settle back to normal soon.

Question: After taking a long break, I decided it was finally time to get back on birth control, so naturally, I waited until my period arrived to start. On the first day, it was super light, just enough to leak a little, which is when I kicked off the pills. I took three of them over three days, and during that time, the flow stayed incredibly light—almost non-existent—and now it’s just stopped entirely. Was that even actually a period? I am completely baffled here. Can the pill cause it to be like this?

Question, though I’m starting to feel like hope might be a lost cause. :S

I've been on Logest for five months now. Before this, I was on Cilest or Yasmin, and it was always the same story—except these ones felt even worse. The headaches... the insane irritability... the total drop in libido...

Anyway, the Logest seems to suit me slightly better than the previous ones. I still had those moody phases and bouts of crying, though they weren't constant, but it’s definitely more manageable after three months of adjusting.

But here's what I've actually noticed: CELLULITE. :S:S
I’m working out a bit more than I used to, trying to watch my diet and avoiding eating too late at night, but it just keeps getting worse.

The scale hasn't moved much, maybe up an extra pound or two—though I did quit smoking about three months ago.

So, here is my question...
Does anyone know if cellulite caused by birth control ever actually goes away?
If I keep exercising and staying disciplined with my food, will it fade? Or will it at least become less noticeable?
It feels like it's becoming more visible to me 😢 and now, if I don't press on it, I can see it right under my glutes.😢

Hey.
Does anyone here have any actual experience with Novynette pills?
My gynecologist recommended I take either Yaz or Loestrin because of these heavy bleeding issues I've been having. Honestly, if I have to go on hormones anyway, I might as well do it for my skin too. Might as well get the breakout control out of the way at the same time. 🙂
Last year I was on Diane for six months and they actually worked. But once I stopped, everything just went right back to how it was. Plus, while I was on them, I was absolutely insufferable.
So, she told me I should give Novynette a shot instead. Apparently, Yaz is supposed to be a total game-changer for your mood.
Please, if anyone actually knows anything about them, speak up. 🙂

Has anyone here actually tried those new pills based on "natural" estrogen? (I’m feeling incredibly skeptical about how "natural" this stuff can possibly be—I mean, where on earth do they even get it from!? 😁 )—I believe they go by the name Qlaira... it sounds great from a marketing standpoint, but I’m more interested in hearing some real-world experiences... 😳

They’ve gone and made a dedicated thread just for them—so, I suppose, you can see how it is now.

Since I wasn't sure if I should post this on the Yaz thread or the Yasmin thread, I figured I'd just try it here. 🙂
So, I’m currently on Yaz, but I’d really like to switch back to Yasmin because it worked much better for me in several ways. Here’s the situation: my appointment with my gynecologist is scheduled for November 19th, but my last active pill in my current Yaz pack will be on November 17th. According to the Yasmin instructions, you can start taking them the day after finishing the active pills from another brand—which, in my case, would be Yaz. The catch is that on November 18th, I won't have my prescription for Yasmin yet, so I can't start them immediately. My plan is to take a standard 4-day break, but instead of starting a new pack of Yaz on the 22nd, I’ll start the Yasmin. I just want to double-check: during those 4 days of the break, I won't be protected, right? So I’ll need to use some other form of contraception during that time? Thanks! 🙂

Has anyone else here dealt with mental health issues since starting birth control pills?? Honestly, it feels like I can't even function normally anymore—I’m irritable, prone to crying, on edge, and just feeling depressed. Everything and everyone gets under my skin. I don't even recognize myself lately. I've been on Diane-35 for about a year now to deal with acne (which, by the way, is still there—just slightly less frequent, but definitely still an issue).

Man, it’s been a lot lately. Honestly, I wouldn’t call myself a crybaby—at least, I never was. But now? It feels like I’m constantly on the verge of breaking down over the smallest things, though I'm trying my best to hold it together. I’m just hoping that getting back into Yasmin will help clear my head; it’s really my only shot.

Yeah, back when I was dating Diane, I was a total wreck. Just completely unhinged—I’d lose my mind over the smallest, most insignificant things. :/

I have a question. I need to take amoxicillin for a throat infection, but I'm on the pill.
Do I need extra protection just for those five days while I'm on antibiotics, or is the whole month a wash?
