I’m set to get back on my Triquilar regimen next week after a two-month break, and I honestly can't wait.

Sure, things are a bit quiet on the intimate front right now, but I am looking forward to it!

Honestly, this is the first time I’ve actually heard anyone mention that the specific amount of water you use to swallow a pill matters—not that I’m an expert or anything, but it seems like a detail most people just overlook. 😁

I’m honestly a total novice here, but: what actually are follicles, and how do they relate to ovulation? In other words, how can you tell if you're ovulating even while on birth control?

Not sure, but I'm guessing you're feeling under the weather because you downed way too much water at once. Empty. Stomach issues... happens to me too sometimes in situations like that. 😉

I let it sit for three and a half hours before taking a sip. Maybe it’s the water? If that were the case, someone else would've been complaining by now, not just me.

Well, they’ve certainly made their way to my side too.
These past two months without them have been absolute hell.

It’s no exaggeration to say it hasn't been sex for nearly half the time, haha.

My situation is a little bit different...
I was on Cilest for over two years, and then I started dealing with water retention.
Now I have to wait until September, and after my check-up, my doctor will decide if I should start back on birth control pills or not.
Honestly, I was really happy with them.

See, hollowranger22, this is why I adore you! You just get everything! I was basically acting like a total Valley Girl during my first month on birth control, keeping everything super tight between my legs because people told me that’s how you make sure you don't get pregnant. 😁 😁 😁

Let's get serious for a sec... it’s not about needing a ton of water, it’s more like you just need at least a little bit of liquid—any kind, really—so the pill hits your stomach faster and actually starts working.

As for my sex life, I couldn't care less right now since things have gone south—someone personally over in Sweden... the only thing is my breasts are a bit sore and feel, um, slightly larger 😢 —but I’m just ignoring it and convincing myself it’s purely coincidental.....

So, here’s the situation: I’m 18—well, almost—and I’ve slept with my boyfriend a couple of times now. Look, I don't want to bore everyone with the gritty details, but... I'm thinking about starting birth control because, frankly, I’m just not a fan of condoms. 😛 I was wondering how far in advance of having sex I actually need to take them, how many pills I should be taking, and whether I really need to see a doctor to get a prescription tailored specifically for me. How does a physician even decide which ones are the "right" fit for someone?

You really need to head to the doctor for this.

Depending on what you get, it’s usually twenty-one days on, seven days off—just a cycle.

--Supposedly you're protected from day one, though I was a bit more cautious myself.😉--back when I first started the pills.

Don't start taking them halfway through a cycle—begin on the first day of your period instead—that’s how you ensure they actually work.

Just one more thing before I let you all go... what’s this doctor’s appointment actually like? Are we talking about seeing an OB-GYN or just a regular GP? And honestly, what do they even do during the exam if you're only going in there because of some birth control pills?
