Help, ladies.
So, I’ve been taking Belara, and last pack—I actually threw up one of my pills within four hours of taking it, so I had to grab another one immediately. The next morning, I called my doctor over at St. Jude’s and she told me to just keep taking them normally alongside some backup protection. Anyway, I finished the whole pack, but because of that vomiting incident, the last pill ended up being taken on Saturday instead of Sunday like usual. That kicked off my break, and on the fourth day of the break, my period arrived—which lasted until this past Saturday. Now, I'm supposed to start a new pack after a seven-day break, so I went ahead and took the first pill of the new pack today (Sunday). Did I handle that right? And is there any way to get back to my old routine—you know, where I take the first pill on Monday and the last one on Sunday? Thanks so much in advance!

You handled everything perfectly—though, if I’m being honest, I don't think you even needed that extra layer of protection since things were actually going quite smoothly—but I'm not entirely sure how you go about reverting back to the previous setup 🤔
Maybe you could consider taking an eight-day break next time, and then just stick to using the additional security for a week afterward.

Hey ladies! So, I’ve been on Logest for about four years now and everything’s been totally fine, though before switching to this, I was taking Diane 35 to deal with my PCOS. I follow the usual routine—take the Logest for 21 days, then wait four days, and my period usually shows up around day 25. It’s always been pretty predictable, but I noticed things getting a little weird lately. Last month, my period hit on day 25 (it was a Sunday afternoon, even though it usually hits earlier on Sunday mornings), and it seemed totally normal, lasting maybe 4 or 5 days. But this past week, I was expecting my period to start, and it didn't show up until late Sunday night/early Monday morning. On Monday, the bleeding was actually kind of heavy, then yesterday it was just regular, but this morning? Nothing. Zilch. Just some tiny traces. As far as sex goes, my boyfriend and I last hooked up in mid-August—basically twice every two weeks—and I had my normal August period right after. We haven't done anything in three weeks. I’m just spiraling a bit because my period came later than usual and it feels like it's already over. I really doubt I'm pregnant, but honestly, I don't know... I’m supposed to start a new pack of Logest tomorrow. I’m stuck in this loop of: should I go grab a pregnancy test, call my doctor, or just sit here and stress? What do you guys think I should do? 😁

I’ve been on Novynette for four months now. Before this, I was taking Logest, but that didn't sit right with me. My period was supposed to start Sunday, but it showed up Monday—except it wasn't an actual period, just heavy brown discharge. Yesterday was the heaviest it got, and today, nothing. 😢 I’m feeling some mild lower back pain and my ovaries are acting up too. Not sure how much of this is just stress, but whatever. 🙂 I want to know: can I actually count this heavy brown discharge as my period? Also, just a heads-up, I had breakthrough bleeding earlier this month.

Anyway, I’m heading out now, so hopefully everything turns out fine... It honestly feels surreal that after being on the pill for six straight years, I’m actually pregnant 😕 I think I'll just let this period pass naturally and see how it goes, then when my next cycle hits, if it's as crappy as this one, I'll definitely go see my doctor.

Ladies, can Nolicin (uroseptik) and Panatus tablets affect the pulse? Specifically, could they impact my heart rate?

What does it say in their instructions?
If there’s nothing listed, then they don't have any influence—simple as that.

You can find that info right on the official Pfizer website, or just check the instruction manual inside the Balera box.
Taking other medications.
Always tell your doctor or pharmacist if you’re currently taking—or have recently taken—any other medications. It’s just basic common sense; you don't want to mix things up and end up in an ER because two drugs decided to have a fight in your bloodstream.
That includes everything, even the stuff you just grab off the shelf at a CVS without a prescription.
Taking Belara for contraception isn't a solo act—other substances you're popping can totally mess with how well it actually works.
At this very same time. Some of them include medications used to treat epilepsy (such as carbamazepine, phenytoin, and...
Topiramate can clash with tuberculosis medications—think things like rifampicin or rifabutin—and certain antibiotics, too. It’s basically a chemical collision course.
Listen, if you’re looking at stuff like ampicillin, tetracyclines, and griseofulvin—or even messing with barbiturates, barbexaclone, Primadon, or Modafinil—you need to understand that certain medications don't just sit there quietly. They interact. It's like throwing a wrench into a finely tuned engine; you can't just expect everything to keep humming along perfectly without some serious friction. Some of these specific drugs are notorious for creating a chemical tug-of-war in your system. Be smart about it.
When you're dealing with HIV treatment, specifically drugs like ritonavir, you have to be extremely careful about what else you're putting in your body. It’s not just about side effects; it’s about how these medications interact at a molecular level. Ritonavir is often used as a "booster" to increase the levels of other antiretroviral drugs in your bloodstream, which makes it incredibly potent—but also incredibly reactive. This is where things get dangerous with herbal supplements like St. John's Wort. Think of it like trying to run two different programs on a computer that aren't compatible; they clash and crash the whole system. St. John's Wort is a notorious inducer of certain liver enzymes (specifically CYP3A4). These are the very same enzymes that process ritonavir. If you take St. John's Wort, those enzymes go into overdrive, tearing through the medication before it ever has a chance to actually fight the virus. You end up with sub-therapeutic levels of the drug in your system, essentially leaving the door wide open for the virus to replicate and potentially develop resistance. It's like trying to put out a fire with a spray bottle while someone else is pouring gasoline on the flames. Always clear every single supplement with your doctor.
St. John's Wort (*Hypericum perforatum*). This is a major concern when you mix it with drugs that jumpstart gut motility—think things like metoclopramide—or other active compounds. It’s all about how these substances interact and influence your system.
Charcoal can mess with how much of the active ingredients in Belara actually gets absorbed into your system.
Don't you dare mix herbal supplements containing St. John's Wort with a prescription like Belara. It's a dangerous combo.
If you take this medication alongside any of those active substances mentioned above—excluding St. John's Wort—or if you...
If you start taking them, you can actually stick with the Belara medication. While you're undergoing treatment with those drugs, you have to be careful about...
You really need to be using extra mechanical contraception—like condoms—if you’re taking these medications.
You also need to be using mechanical contraception for at least seven, if not up to twenty-eight days after.
Treatment's wrapping up. If there's a need for long-term therapy involving those active ingredients mentioned above,
You need to be looking into non-hormonal contraception methods. Seriously, go talk to your doctor or a medical professional about it.
pharmacy.

So, according to what's been said, there's no Norflocin (norfloxacin) and no Panatum (panatumate) available.

Thanks a ton—honestly, I felt a little bit silly when I hopped online and saw people were actually classifying penicillin as an antibiotic, so I figured I’d better double-check with you guys just to be safe. Thanks so much!

"Antibiotic" is just a broad umbrella term used to describe a whole bunch of different substances that happen to have antibacterial properties. It doesn't specify which exact drug we're talking about. In the future, always look right under the brand name on the packaging and check the generic name written in the fine print to see if it actually shows up on the drug interaction lists in the patient information leaflet.

Hey, does anyone have any tips on how to deal with the nausea that comes along with these pills? It’s pretty rough.

Hey 🙂

Hitting up my OBGYN this Monday to get some pills sorted because my cycle is totally all over the place. A few years back, I was on Diane-35 for about nine months. Honestly? It was a total nightmare 😁. My appetite went through the roof, I packed on 7 pounds, felt super bloated, had mood swings, and even dealt with cellulite... the only win was that my skin cleared up. Not even sure why I was prescribed them since I don't have PCOS, just the irregular periods
. Once I quit, things normalized a bit, but my cycles were still weird—sometimes 28 days, sometimes 35
. But for the last six months, everything’s gone downhill again. I haven't had a period in two months, yet I feel like I'm constantly in PMS mode. My skin breaks out like crazy right before my period starts, and now I've been dealing with breakouts for a month straight. Went to an esthetician to get it cleaned up, but within a week, it was right back to where it started. Definitely an inside job 🙂.
So, here's the thing: my doctor loves pushing Diane-35, but I am so over it. I wanted to go in with some suggestions of my own. Did a little digging and saw Yaz uses drospirenone, which is supposed to help prevent weight gain 😁. Also looking at Novynette since it's lower hormone, or maybe Logest (though apparently that doesn't help the skin much 😁).
If you guys have any advice on what I should suggest to him, let me know. I know everyone reacts differently, but I gotta try something else 😁.

I’ve been on Logest for a long time now and my skin has been awesome. Sure, things get a little rough right before my period, but hey, that's just life, right? I haven't gained any weight at all—honestly, I feel like these pills actually help me stay toned 🤣. The only downside I’ve noticed is that I ended up with more stretch marks on my hips. Thankfully, my breasts didn't blow up on me while on Logest, but back when I was on that Diane stuff before switching, they definitely grew by a good amount 😁

Love seeing something positive 😁. Honestly, I wouldn't mind a little extra growth haha, but Diane-35 did absolutely nothing 😠 for me. Gonna try some natural stuff first, and if that fails, I'll look into these pills 😉.

I haven't really messed around with birth control much myself—Adexa was my first go—but honestly, they’ve been awesome. A couple other girls on here have mentioned nothing but good things too. No headaches, no nausea, no weight gain issues, and my period stays regular and—which was the biggest thing for me—totally painless. Anyway, maybe try to talk him into trying something new so you can see if it actually works for you... 🙂

So, I just got prescribed Augmentin for a two-week course. Does this antibiotic interfere with Belara? If anyone knows, please let me know, since I've heard antibiotics can reduce effectiveness... 😢

Birth control and smoking? Great combo. Just what everyone needs.
Thoughts, suggestions, advice? Give me something to work with. 😁
