I was totally expecting to gain a few pounds or deal with crazy hunger pangs—I mean, who knows—but honestly, nothing like that happened at all...🎉

My situation is a bit different, though. I’ve got hypothyroidism—basically my thyroid is underactive, which usually makes me gain weight like crazy. My OBGYN actually warned me to stay on top of my weight so things don't spiral, since my thyroid issues make it way too easy to blow up.

Ah, I get you. Still, I personally think there's no need to stress too much about it... I mean, you shouldn't have to worry about gaining weight just because of an Adele song or whatever. 🙂

Has anyone ever dealt with this? I’m on Yasminelle—take it religiously, haven't missed a single pill—though maybe I took about three or four of them a couple of hours later than usual. No stomach issues or anything, no vomiting or diarrhea. Anyway, I had a week off from the pills, and my period just wouldn't show up. Then on Tuesday, I got this tiny bit of spotting—just a little discharge that keeps coming and going. Now I’m supposed to start a new pack today, and honestly, it feels super weird. I’ve been on these for seven years. The cramps feel like my typical period pains, plus I had my usual pre-period migraine, though it dragged on a bit longer this time.

Anyone here taking folic acid along with birth control? Dealing with PCOS, so I got prescribed Yaz. Used Diane-35 a few years back—went through a few packs, helped my skin but man, the weight gain was real. Ended up with so much cellulite, so I had to look for something else. Was deciding between Triquilar or Yaz, but eventually went with 🙂.
Reading all this on their thread is low-key stressing me out lol. Everything was fine with my period before, but a few months ago my skin started breaking out, hair was thinning, and my cycles went from 35-50 days to skipping two whole months entirely -.-. Then they hit me with the PCOS diagnosis. Honestly, I never wanted to touch those pills again 😠

Yeah 🙂 I take a B-50 complex that includes folic acid.

Quick question regarding my medication—does it actually matter if I’m running about 15 to 20 minutes behind schedule with my pill?

Hey guys!
Need some advice from the pros here. I’ve been on Lindynette for about a year now, but I hit the road for a weekend trip yesterday and totally blanked on grabbing my pack. So yeah, I’m gonna miss two doses.
I’ve got 7 pills left in the blister pack. Last one was Thursday, and since I didn't realize I forgot them until yesterday evening, there wasn't any way for me to go pick some up.

Not sure what the smartest move is right now.
I was thinking maybe just take a seven-day break and then start back up normally. But I don't know—should I start a brand new pack after that, or finish these last seven and jump straight into a new pack without a gap?
And will I still get my period during this break even if it happens a week earlier than usual?

What about protection? I'm assuming I should probably use extra backup for at least a week or two, right?

Ugh, I'm so annoyed with myself. This has never happened before. 😵

So I'm on Adexa, you know, doing the whole 21 days on plus a week break thing, and then yesterday I totally blanked on my pill and didn't even realize until like 24 hours later... Since I don't have the manual handy here to see what the move is, I just went ahead and took two at once, one for yesterday and one for today... I'm supposed to take my last one tomorrow and get my period on Friday, so I'm just wondering if I've completely messed everything up and if my whole cycle is gonna be all wonky now...

Hey... just so you know, those instruction manuals are actually online in PDF format if you ever need them. 😬
Here, just in case you need it again:

I think you handled it the right way, though I haven't personally been in your shoes yet. You took the missed pill immediately (even if it meant two in one day), but you really should use some extra protection for the next week, just to be safe... 🙂

The part that's tripping me up is whether you still need to take that 7-day break or not. The manual says if there are fewer than 7 pills left in the pack (counting from the one you missed), you're supposed to start a brand new pack immediately after finishing this one, which basically means skipping your period... but hey, maybe double-check that with a doctor or someone who actually knows this stuff inside and out. 😉

Ugh, I was on the Adexa tabs too. And yeah, the exact same thing happened to me last night—total brain fog. I was positive I popped my pill around 9 PM, but now I’m looking at the blister pack and realizing I totally missed it. What do I even do? Can I just double up and take two right now?

Yeah, seriously. It’s the exact same thing that happened to the girl before you. 😉
Check the instructions, girl—read the actual manual! 🧐

Look, let’s be real for a second—everything about this whole situation just feels incredibly off. I’ve been sitting here staring at this for way too long, and honestly? It’s exhausting. People act like there’s some grand logic behind it all, but there isn't. There’s zero. It’s just noise. Just constant, grating noise designed to make you feel like you’re missing something when, in reality, there’s nothing actually there. I’m telling you, if you go looking for sense in this mess, you’re just wasting your breath. You’re just spinning your wheels in the mud while everyone else pretends they know exactly where the road is going. Newsflash: nobody knows. We’re all just stumbling around in the dark, pretending we have a flashlight. It’s a joke, really. A total, absolute circus. And frankly, I’m over it. I'm just completely done with the pretense. kaže:
Yeah, exactly. Just like that other forum regular who was here before you. Same old story. 😉
Listen, I’m only gonna say this once because I don't have the patience to repeat myself for the slow learners out there. Tips, ladies, tips! Seriously, if you aren't looking for advice, why are you even hanging around here? Get some intel, grab some pointers, just move! This isn't a social club for people waiting for things to happen to them—you gotta go out and get the goods. Move it! 🧐

So, how's the 24-hour stretch been since my last drink? Honestly, I went straight for that forgotten regular one like, thirty minutes later. Just a quick follow-up.

That’s perfect! Honestly, just double-check how many pills you have left in the pack—that way you’ll know if you need to take a break or just keep going—and you’re all set. 🙂

I think it says if there are fewer than 7 left in the pack, you don't take a break. I have 7 left, so I guess the 7-day break starts now.

Is it normal for my period to start on a different day after I've gone through three boxes of these?
To be more specific, I usually don't see it until the third day of my break, but this time it showed up on day one.

After 7 years, you probably should've taken a break by now, at least in my opinion. Go talk to your OBGYN. After 5 years on mine, my doctor told me to take a break, and I also had those weird discharge issues instead of a real period.2

From what I understand, they aren't even supposed to do those breaks anymore... it feels like it might actually do more harm than good, especially when you try to start back up on the pill after the hiatus, right?

Honestly, I have no clue. I stopped taking them ages ago, took a break, and haven't touched them in over 10 years. Can't even remember which ones I was on.
You should tell your doctor that you don't get actual periods, then he'll figure out what's next.
