So, I’m not saying I’m 100% pregnant or anything since I don't even have a boyfriend right now, haha, but my cycle finally started on October 25th... so it was about a 21-day thing. I’ve actually been on birth control before, but I had to quit because of the blood pressure issues and the sugar spikes. Anyway, I decided to start back up again after my gynecologist over at the Mayo Clinic recommended it. The last time I had my blood work done—back in May with an endocrinologist—my LH, testosterone, and androsterone levels were all running pretty high. But honestly? I handled the Diane-35 super well.

Whenever I played Diana, I always seemed to land on that sixth day of downtime.
I really think it’s going to happen for you! 🙂

And he’s got a date tomorrow, too... honestly, I still have plenty of material left before Friday rolls around.

So, I figured I’d weigh in with my own situation. I was on Yasmin birth control for a while, but after all that drama surrounding them, I stopped. It’s been three months since then, and my period has come every month—usually a 30 to 34-day cycle. This month, I was expecting it around the 13th. However, I had unprotected sex on the 2nd and 3rd... My stomach is cramping, I’m feeling nauseous (haven't actually thrown up yet), and my temperature has been hovering between 98.6 and 99 degrees every day. Mood swings, too. And I’m eating way more than usual lately. I’m also hitting the bathroom every 3 or 4 hours, and I have to get up at least once a night to pee. Well, I took a test this morning, and it was negative. For the last 3 or 4 days, I've had this brown discharge, but I have no idea what's causing it. Should I just wait a few days to see if my period actually shows up? If it doesn't, should I try testing again or something? I don't know if it's just too early for a test to pick anything up, especially if I’m already 2 or 3 weeks along. I'm really looking for some advice here... I'm terrified of taking any medication in case I actually am pregnant. Thanks.

Greetings! I just have to say, I was on Cilest for several years—about five, actually—and without a single, solitary issue... I didn't even realize I was taking them, absolutely zero side effects... perfection!!! And then (stupid me), based on another gynecologist's recommendation, I started Yasmin... and it was a total catastrophe... I nearly died... absolutely terrifying... lately, it seems like every doctor is just prescribing those things... but clearly, they aren't all that great, if they're even reliable at all... please be careful, and good luck!!!

Hey, hey... okay, so some good news today! It finally arrived this morning! Honestly though, my stomach is absolutely killing me right now. Ugh. But hey, at least the main thing is that it’s here, you know? Everything's on track.

Ugh, I totally forgot to ask... when should I actually start my next round?
Today is day 7... or maybe tomorrow is day 8?

You start on the exact same day every single time... 🙂
So if you started drinking last time on a Friday, you're back at it today...

Wait, isn't today day 8? 🤔 If you start drinking on Monday, that means the last dose is Sunday, and then you take a break Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun...
People have already been debating this here...
But my instructions say the same thing—you start drinking on the exact same day every week.

Exactly!
There’s a seven-day break, and then you kick off the next pack on day eight. You always start the new box on that same day of the week.

Alright, so here's the plan... I'm starting tomorrow at 8:00 AM sharp. I'll be kicking things off with the pill that says Saturday on it,

So, I took my first pill on October 25th, and kept going until November 14th. Then I had a one-day break on the 15th, which lasted through to today... and then this morning, my period arrived. So, we're looking at day seven right now. Should I maybe start taking them again starting today on day seven?

It doesn't really matter. You just take them the same way every time... you get a 7-day break... because the whole cycle is 28 days (21 pills + 7 days off)
Since Oct 25th was a Saturday, that means you start tomorrow

For example, I usually start on a Wednesday. That makes my last pill on a Tuesday, and then I’m back at it again on Wednesday

I started experiencing these "strange states"—and honestly, even now, after a year and a half, I still can't find the right words to explain them to my doctors... but listen, after taking Yasmin for two and a half months, I genuinely felt like I was going to die... literally. Just these terrifying, bizarre sensations in my head... absolutely harrowing. I went from specialist to specialist, doctor after doctor, and nobody could figure out what was happening to me... until I finally reached my current physician. He discovered that I had actually fallen into this horrific, comatose state... blood vessels in the brain... it was pure nightmare fuel. And today—even though I'm still on medication after eighteen months—I feel like I'm slowly returning to some semblance of normalcy. I have to take several pills a day just to function and feel like myself again... It's a level of horror I wouldn't wish on anyone.
