Alright then, looks like I'm starting day 8 tomorrow. Thanks for all the tips, everyone, seriously appreciate it.

Hi ladies! I’m jumping into this thread for the very first time. I’ve been lurking and reading your posts for a while, but I finally ran into a little hiccup myself.
So, here’s the deal: I’m currently on my fifth pack of Yasmin. Everything has been absolutely perfect up until now—zero issues at all! For the last four months, I’ve consistently gotten my period about two or three days into my break. It was totally predictable.
But now, things have changed. I’m on my fifth pack with four pills left to go, and three days ago, I started feeling these intense cramps—exactly like my usual PMS. Then, I noticed some spotting. It was very minimal and kind of brownish. That lasted for two days, but then today, the actual bleeding started—bright red and much heavier.

Is it actually possible to have my period before I’ve even finished the pack? Or did something go wrong? Has anyone else dealt with something similar? I would honestly appreciate any insight you can share, because I’m traveling right now and won't be able to make it to a doctor anytime soon.

Thanks so much in advance!

Let me correct myself—my period is starting again, and the pressure on my ovaries is intense. They are really hurting right now.

It’s possible it might be some kind of inflammation. 🤷
I actually had that same thing happen this month—that brownish discharge before the pack was finished. My doctor mentioned it’s just the body reacting to the hormones in the pill. That said, I’m only on my first month of Logest, so I doubt it’s a sudden reaction for you since you've been on yours for a while.
If I were in your shoes, I wouldn't panic too much. The main thing is to watch those ovarian pains; if they persist, that's when you should pay closer attention. Just see if it happens again next month...

Yeah, I dealt with that same messy discharge during my first pack too, though without any pain, and it hasn't happened since! You might be onto something about a possible infection. I guess I'll just wait and see how things go over the next few days. Thanks so much for the reply!

I haven't been able to find an answer to this anywhere, so I was wondering if anyone might know.
How long does it actually take for hormones to level out and stabilize after stopping birth control, just so I can get bloodwork done for a new prescription? Is it really three months, like they suggest when you're taking a break?

Hey
I have a question
I was having issues with my period, and I’m hoping they’ve cleared up, but my gynecologist recommended Diane for a maximum of six months. Apparently, my hormone levels aren't quite where they should be. It's nothing life-threatening, but she told me to start taking them because my iron is low, and she mentioned a risk that I might struggle to have kids someday if I don't ovulate properly
My dermatologist agreed with the plan too, which has me stressed out—now that my skin has finally cleared up, I'm terrified it's going to go crazy again
I mean, I assume these doctors know whether I need the pill or not, but I'm not exactly thrilled about the situation, so I wanted to see what you all think

Hey everyone, just wanted to pick your brains about Diane-35. Anyone here actually used them? I’ve been dealing with PCOS and decided to switch to birth control for protection, so my doctor put me on Diane. He wants to wait until after this next period before starting them so we can monitor how I react. Honestly, I’d rather know what I'm getting into before I pop the first pill, so I'm looking for some real experiences. On the plus side, they supposedly help with breast growth—which isn't a bad thing since mine are pretty small—but I'm mostly worried about weight gain or breakouts. My skin is usually flawless, though my back is a total disaster area right now, so I'm terrified of ruining my face.

It’s probably for the best I didn’t read your posts earlier, because I was getting way too worked up...

So, here’s the deal: I’ve been on Yasmin for months now and everything is fine, EXCEPT my libido is absolutely non-existent and things are feeling pretty dry down there. I think I’m done with this pack; I’m not doing this anymore. I'm heading over to see my doctor to look for something else... So, what new options should I be looking into?? Give me some recommendations from ladies who haven't gone through childbirth... 😕 🤷

I had the exact same experience on Yasmin. I’ve since switched to my second pack of Logest, and I think I’m finally starting to notice a slight improvement. We'll see how things progress from here.

Personally, I used Celestol... absolutely perfect. Took it for about five years... and honestly, I never even felt like I was taking anything at all... good luck out there...🙂

Hey ladies, I’ve got a quick question for the group. I’ve been on Yasmin for two months now. After my first pack, my period showed up early on the morning of the 4th. But now that I'm finishing the second pack, it was supposed to arrive this morning, and... nothing. Still waiting. Is this totally normal when you're just starting out, or should I be worried that something is off with me?

It’s perfectly normal. I’ve been taking them for a few years now, so I’ve learned they don't always arrive right on schedule—sometimes they show up a day early or a day late.

I recall hearing somewhere that it can actually take up to five or six months for the body to feel completely "cleared out," though I suppose it’s best to just ask your gynecologist, as they would be the ones to truly know.

But, if your intention is simply to continue with a different brand of pills, I don't think you need to wait nearly that long; usually, a standard CBC (complete blood count) should suffice, and if those results look healthy, you should be fine to proceed with the medication.

I ended up taking Diane-35 for about three years, though I made sure to take a break for six months to a year every so often. To be honest, I absolutely loathed those pills... 😠 They didn't help my mood or my libido at all; instead, they just wreaked havoc on my body. I originally started them to combat acne and excess hair growth, but the side effects were brutal—while on them, I gained significant weight, and the moment I stopped, all my original issues came back even worse, including more breakouts and even more hair growth. On top of that, I lost weight so rapidly once I quit that my mother was genuinely worried I might be getting sick. 😲
After that experience, I switched over to Yasmin and have been on it for the last three or four years, and honestly, it has been wonderful; I haven't gained any weight or dealt with any other issues. 👍
So, if I may offer a bit of advice, I would suggest seeing how you react to Diane first. If it doesn't sit well with you, definitely ask about alternatives with lower hormone doses.
Generally speaking, Diane is typically prescribed for polycystic ovary syndrome or for women managing hormonal imbalances and acne.

Thanks, I know all that. I was only planning on using them for six months, just like I was told.
The instructions say they're specifically for elevated androgen levels, but my slightly high androstenedione along with LSH and FSH feels off too. One of those should be double the other, yet mine is actually lower.
My only real fear is that since my skin has cleared up over the last month—and I haven't even started Diane yet—that once I stop taking them, everything will just flare up again and get worse.
But I guess you can't really know until you try.😢 All I have left is hope.😁

ugh, freaking annoyed. just realized I actually started my Yamin on day seven this month instead of day eight 🙄
No clue how I missed that. Just caught it because I noticed my last pill is tomorrow, but it was supposed to be tomorrow night.
Did I seriously screw up big time? 🙂

I was planning on starting my new box of Logesta today, but I didn't actually pick it up until now. I headed over to the 24-hour pharmacy since it's Sunday, but they were out of stock.
Is it really a massive deal if I just start tomorrow instead?😠

He's doing it today, I did it yesterday 😂 😠

Anyone actually smart enough to weigh in on this? Or maybe someone who’s been through this exact mess before? 🤔

Ugh, here’s another one with issues—I started right on schedule, but then I spent the entire night dealing with some major stomach trouble, so it feels like I didn't even take my 😢 I thought about taking another dose this morning just to make up for it, but I still felt super nauseous so I didn't
Now they're saying I need to be extra careful with protection for the next 7 days and everything should be fine. Honestly though, I think I'll be playing it safe until I finish this whole pack...
Sorry, just had to vent...

I don't think missing a day is a big deal; if I remember correctly, the Triquilar instructions say you can actually shorten the break if you want to shift your period by a day
