It’s great that someone actually brought up morality in this thread. Some people have it—others... well, they clearly don't.
To me, morality is basically just having a conscience in your day-to-day life. Conscience is a uniquely human thing; animals don't really have it. It’s that internal cognitive process where we check if our perception matches reality—basically, asking ourselves if our judgment is sound and if our actions actually fit the situation at hand. It involves replaying the scene in your head, processing all the circumstances. You've got "pre-emptive" conscience, where you weigh good against evil before you act, and then there's the "after-the-fact" version, where you realize what you've done once the dust settles.
If you actually have a conscience, you aren't going to hurt people, lie through your teeth, commit sexual assault, or kill. And even if you do—which is a stretch—you’re going to feel the weight of it afterward (that nagging guilt).
Our conscience tells us that as humans, we’re all essentially equal and should be working together to make life on this planet better for everyone.
The issue is that a certain segment of the population has become completely numb to their own conscience.
They don't even react to blatant wrongdoing anymore; they seem to have forgotten the whole "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" rule.
It’s honestly depressing that humanity suffers because of a handful of lunatics who lack both morality and a conscience—people who seize power and then turn into total monsters. They just layer lie upon lie and theft upon theft to cover their tracks.
