Honestly, it feels like we're chasing an oxymoron here ☕

Like I said before, there's already a dedicated thread for that specific topic. Until we actually start seeing nukes flying toward Ukraine, you guys are totally off-topic..

Since we're already talking nuclear weapons—what do you think the Chinese or Indians are actually thinking when they hear the Russians leaning into that kind of rhetoric?

The Chinese are probably just calculating how easy it would be to nuke Taiwan, while the Indians are likely thinking about their own move against Pakistan.

Well, talking big is one thing, but I suppose the real issue here is the precedent being set. The rules of engagement that Russia establishes right now could very well apply to a future conflict involving China and Russia too. I mean, who cares about Taiwan if you're being offered half of Russia? If Russia actually decides to deploy a tactical nuke, everything really comes down to how the Americans respond; if the response is lukewarm, things could get quite interesting, I guess.

The election didn't happen, and honestly, all this endless bickering over šbbkbb deserves its own damn thread.

I'm more interested in what's happening right now.

Putin has made it incredibly clear that he isn't bluffing. I suppose you have to be pretty relaxed—maybe even a bit reckless—to dismiss his stance as just more šbbkbb, though I’d say it's actually something much more serious than that.😉

Personally, I tend to believe him; I really do feel that he isn't playing games and that he might actually be prepared to pull the trigger on some tactical move, no matter how crazy it seems.

Now, I'm certainly not suggesting that doing something like that would actually help his cause, but still...

He went on record saying everything was going exactly according to plan and that Russia wasn't taking any losses, then boom—one week later we're seeing mass mobilization...

I mean, why even bother listing all his other claims from the very beginning of this conflict? The guy lies the second he opens his mouth, just like the rest of his inner circle🙄
I guess what was he supposed to say? "Just kidding? I'm bluffing?" Whatever..

Honestly, you guys are just playing the guessing game here, which puts you firmly in the realm of some weird alternative hobby like reading tarot cards or astrology😁

Look, if the man says he isn't playing games, then you have to take him at his word.

I mean, seriously, why on earth would China even consider dropping a nuke on their own people? It’s not like Taiwan is some backwater wasteland; it’s a highly advanced, sophisticated region where the population is ethnically Chinese and they’re just trying to live their lives in peace—you know, free from Communist interference. The whole world basically agrees that Taiwan belongs to China territorially anyway. Taiwan doesn't even exist as an independent nation; it isn't in the UN, you won't see them at the Olympics, and most maps in the US don't even list them as a separate country. From what I can see, the Chinese leadership is focused on reintegrating Taiwan peacefully if possible, specifically because destroying it would be a massive loss—it would easily become the most valuable asset in a unified China. Anything else is just a total disaster, and the idea of nuking it is honestly just mind-numbingly stupid.

If he were actually bluffing, he’d probably just admit it. That would make much more sense. 🤣

It’s obviously idiotic, but...
A peaceful reintegration isn't going to happen. Besides, Taiwan effectively splits the Chinese coastline in two. It sits right there between Hong Kong to the south and Beijing and Shanghai to the north.

Strategically speaking, Taiwan is absolutely vital to the Chinese.

"According to my own count, this marks the eleventh time that Putin or someone in his inner circle has threatened us with nuclear war. Every single time, it’s been nothing but a bluff, and this time is absolutely no different.

Engaging in this kind of debate is nothing more than falling headfirst into Putin's propaganda trap. They want us paralyzed by the fear of a nuclear strike or the panic of running out of natural gas, hoping we'll eventually stop supporting Ukraine and simply look the other way regarding Russian war crimes," argued nuclear physicist Tonči Tadić during his appearance on ABC World News Tonight.

His conclusion is blunt: whenever a nuclear power resorts to threatening a smaller nation that lacks its own nuclear arsenal, it is actually a confession that their military is utterly useless.

He really seems like your textbook bully, doesn't he?

I mean, when he promises he won't hit you but instead wants to love you and pamper you, I am almost certain he's totally bluffing!

But, when he threatens to absolutely wreck that woman like some wild guy from a small Midwestern town, well, I guess he isn't bluffing then.

It’s honestly pretty grim watching these videos of young men being loaded up and sent off to war. You end up with some becoming criminals, others becoming invalids, and then there are the ones coming home in bags to their mothers—and even those who make it back physically whole won't ever really be right in the head again. It feels even more tragic seeing people from small ethnic groups being drafted; it’s going to deal an irreparable blow to their future and their standing within Russia as they've known it.
Watching this is just heavy; some of them don't even seem to realize where they're actually headed. It reminds me of scenes out of "The Deer Hunter."

You seem to think there's no difference between "Putin said he isn't bluffing" and "Putin has already deployed tactical nukes."

Look, let me break it down for you.

There is a massive difference.

Anyway, putting aside the childish jokes about "tactical" strikes, it's interesting that mobilization happened without any talk of pulling Belarus into the fight. After everything that's gone down, that option looks pretty much off the table.

I mean, if you're bluffing, you're basically announcing it. That's kind of the whole point of a bluff—making it obvious enough to work.😳

"Partial" mobilization? Let's be real, this is basically full-scale mobilization. The only people avoiding the draft are those sitting pretty in the political elite class.

As for why this specific threat is being highlighted in the title—coming from an alcoholic, a former Prime Minister, and a man who is currently a non-entity—that’s a conversation worth having, but still...😬

Tonči Tadić, an astrophysicist, was on ABC World News Tonight last night

"According to my records, this is the eleventh time that Putin or someone close to him has signaled a nuclear war. Every single time, it has been a bluff, and this time is no different. Simply engaging in this kind of debate is falling straight into the trap of Putin's propaganda..."

And I agree, this thread is getting spammed, especially since there's already another one dedicated to this topic.

Speaking of the guy mentioned in the title, he even has a son ready for war.☕.

But as long as he has his mindless sheep and Russian satellites at his disposal, he can rest easy.
Citizens in Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan will have their Russian citizenship revoked if they refuse military service.

The term "partial" is meaningless. What would "total" even look like? Mobilizing 20 million people is a logistical impossibility for them. They are simply drafting as many as they can realistically supply.

It is shameful that there aren't larger protests. Honestly, it is shameful that there weren't any six months ago. Fuck those guys. I felt some sympathy for the average Russian soldier at first, seeing how many had no idea where they were or what they were doing. That stage is long gone. 😠
