Honestly, watching them try to lecture everyone else is nothing short of hilarious. I bet Imbex could find a massive talent pool right here for recruiting the kind of bottom-tier journalism junkies they hire through those student internships.

As for the actual topic—nobody actually asked the Ukrainians what they wanted. Someone in Davos, Washington, London, or wherever else decided long ago that they'd be nothing more than cannon fodder, and that was that. Anyone thinking Zelenskyy is actually calling the shots in Ukraine is more naive than a wide-eyed tourist.

For the tiny minority that actually uses their brain and understands the gravity of what's happening: do yourselves a favor and pick up Zbigniew Brzezinski’s book, "The Grand Chessboard"—specifically the section on "Ukraine." Brzezinski might just be the chief architect behind that psychopathic neoconservative ideology that took hold when Bush Sr. was in office. Now, look, Russia isn't exactly a "flower," but they are being geostrategically encircled (and therefore attacked) in this mess—even if most people here are too blind to see it.

Thanks for this. I went looking for some background info since I wanted to see the bigger picture (I don't really watch TV), and I stumbled upon this piece from 2017.

JPMorgan Chase had to shutter its branches in the Czech Republic today, apparently because things hit a breaking point between panicked staff and depositors rushing to pull their money out.

It looks like we’re seeing the start of a full-blown run on Russian banks across Europe.

A combination of high-tech gear, smart tactics, and strategic advice from Turkey paved the way for Azerbaijan's victory in Nagorno-Karabakh. According to the editorial team at Radio Free Europe (RFE/RL), it took Azerbaijan a mere 43 days to reclaim its territory surrounding the breakaway Nagorno-Karabakh region—specifically those seven mountainous districts and foothills that were seized by Armenian separatists during that embarrassing period for Baku back in the early 1990s.

Analysts are pointing to three specific drivers behind why Azerbaijan was so overwhelmingly successful on the battlefield this time around: technology, tactical execution, and support from Turkey.

-Why is it that we listen to Western music?
-Why do we conduct our lives using Western currency?

Is it because everything that is truly progressive and high-quality originates from the West, and if it actually came from Russia or, say, China, would anyone even care?

Russia is carrying out an act of aggression against a friendly nation specifically because that country refused to play along with Putin's delusional dream of a new Soviet Union and started moving closer to the West. Russia essentially branded itself as the enemy.

It's also true that the USA has little interest in seeing a powerhouse European Union emerge.

Russia doesn't want a strong EU, and frankly, neither does the EU.

And then there's NATO—what is its actual purpose, and will it even bother to act?

The sheer power of Western propaganda... They realized long ago that it's all just Marketing.
Russia is lagging behind here. Even if they are on the side of justice, the world simply doesn't trust them...

Way to go.

I’m sure Americans will be among the few in Europe actually paying attention to Putin's threats, mostly because they couldn't care less...

Well, the Russians invented the Kalashnikov back in '47, didn't they?
And the USSR gave us the Rubik's Cube.
You can't claim monopoly forever.
Besides, Americans started Apple and Facebook in a garage.
The Germans and Japanese make the best cars... why else would they bother if it wasn't for Russian oil? Or would Putin tell you that?

Exactly. You really ought to fly over to Russia yourself and see what a little slice of paradise looks like... in every sense of the word.

It makes sense, though—they're right on the front lines after Ukraine. Still, 👍for them

Honestly, it would be in everyone's best interest if the Russians just stepped up and stopped Putin themselves while they still have the chance.

Americans tend to focus on their own history—plus, they realize it’s better to see the Russians broken in Ukraine than in their own backyard. So, this isn't surprising; in my view, this is exactly how all European nations should act: funnel weapons into Ukraine via Western channels. Putin isn't going to stop. He wants to trigger a global conflict—if you can't see that, you're clearly missing the point.

At the end of the day, even if he claims he doesn't want a world war—though I suspect he does—he launched an aggression against a sovereign state. Honestly, I couldn't care less about the excuses used to justify it. There is no justification—not Zelenskyy, not the US, not NATO, not the EU, not gas supplies, nor a warm winter. Absolutely nothing works except his own madness.

Look, you don't have to lug a missile with a 10,000+ km range around like it's some damn 105mm howitzer.

Let's be real—they aren't just taking those launchers out for a casual stroll unless there's an actual intention to use them. It's not like everyone in Russia is completely out of their minds, after all.

A parade? Now I have to go check what the Russians are celebrating soon. It isn't Victory Day over fascism, nor is it the October Revolution.

The Tsar Bomba, oil, and gas. 😬

But seriously... jokes aside.
It’s obvious someone didn't even bother reading the required books in school,
yet they think they're an expert on superpower geopolitics.
