And while we're at it, why doesn't NATO just start flipping their doctrine whenever they feel like it, just like the Russians do—even when it comes to nukes, regardless of how terrifying that sounds? Because what's the alternative? Just keep folding to Putin?

The truth is, Putin is only as powerful as he is because of this policy of appeasement and non-confrontation from the West, especially coming from Germany and Merkel.

I guess you could say Vladimir Putin is only as powerful as those 40 or so people he has to justify his moves to every once in a while.
If they actually get fed up... things aren't going to go so well.

It’ll likely turn out to be nothing more than shallow Russian propaganda, where they put on Ukrainian uniforms just to pretend the Ukrainian military doesn't want to fight the Russians...

Let me drop a few photos for anyone who doesn't really know what Kyiv looks like right now.

Image: https://prnt.sc/82VKfukXp7vx

1. Hostomel Airfield. This is where the Russians kicked things off with those helicopter assaults. The Ukrainians managed to claw it back by the end of the day, but then the Russians moved back in and took it again the next morning.
2. Vorzel. Combat was happening here today. Pretty sure the Russians have seized control of this area now.
3. That spot from yesterday where a tank crushed a car—it was a Russian saboteur turned into a Ukrainian soldier. His crew actually hijacked the tank before they were neutralized.
4. The bridge the Ukrainians blew up yesterday to stop the Russians from crossing the Dnieper.
5. Where the Russian night raid ended today. Left behind several destroyed tanks and vehicles, plus heavy Russian casualties.
6. Where the old man is digging his trench.
7. Just a bit south, you've got Vasilyevsky Airfield and the nearby town. The Russians tried an airborne assault to take control, but they got stopped and wiped out. The local mayor confirmed it.

I honestly don't get why some of these people are so desperate to ignore what's actually happening right in front of them, typing away about some massive Russian defeat like it's a done deal... a little reality check wouldn't hurt anyone. I was just listening to rt, and they're saying things are getting so messy that Ukraine doesn't even have full control over their own military anymore, with basically paramilitary groups and extremists running the show instead..

Melitopol was already in Russian hands as of yesterday morning, and now we're seeing reports they "just" retook it. It’s all vague on how much they actually control.

Anyone can plant a flag on a building and claim they conquered it.

As for the whole paramilitary and extremist thing... I won't even go there. We heard that exact same nonsense nonstop back in the 90s.

The Kremlin claims that President Vladimir Putin ordered a pause in the offensive in Ukraine this past Friday—hoping for negotiations with Volodymyr Zelensky—but apparently, he told them to resume once those talks failed to materialize.

Government spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that operations continued into Saturday afternoon after the Ukrainian leadership rejected any dialogue, according to Reuters.

We are now entering the third day of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, with fighting spreading across various cities beyond just the outskirts of Kyiv. There were reports yesterday regarding potential negotiations, though nothing has materialized so far.

So the Ukrainians won't negotiate... while being invaded from Belarus!

Who in their right mind would go there?

If Zelenskyy goes there, he’s never coming back.

If the Russians were really the masters of propaganda and soft power instead of Americans, that 2014 coup wouldn't have even happened—and that's where this whole horror story started. If Americans were in Russia's shoes, half of Ukraine would already be leveled.
Man, who am I even talking to here... 🤦

More than half of Mexicans back Vučko, so what's your take on that?
If they didn't support him, he wouldn't be running the damn country.

Denmark sent over some financial aid. 🤔 They have piles of weapons, but they can only afford to pay for foreign fighters.

You seem to think that if the Russians don't want to wake up in Russia, it's somehow your problem instead of theirs. You're acting like you care.

No surrender and absolutely zero negotiations. Period. We need to flood Ukraine with weapons and gear, slap on crushing sanctions, and go full scorched-earth on the Russian economy until their regime collapses—even if it hurts everyone's wallets for a while. This lunatic isn't going to stop until he gets his way in Ukraine, and I think we all see that clearly by now.

Putin actually pulled it off—he managed to isolate himself just enough to unite the West and most of the world against him, all while using those blatant threats to stir up massive debates about Sweden and Finland joining NATO.

Cornered.

Frankly, I hope it doesn't drag on any longer, because if it does, we're looking at a humanitarian catastrophe involving upwards of three million people.

Russia probably only has time-limited support from China. If this war drags on, even China will start applying pressure. And that is when the real trouble starts for Vladimir Putin—total isolation.

Appeal of the Russian special forces to the soldiers of the US Armed Forces. "Just listen to the guys who are already practically sitting on the outskirts of Kyiv. Seriously, just listen and stop throwing your lives away for nothing."

It’s got that Z marking on it, so it’s definitely Russian forces

I mean, honestly, even without any warheads, just the pure kinetic energy from an impact like that would probably cause some serious damage, I guess.

That's a Topol-M nuclear ICBM caught on film in western Russia—where they keep stuff like this—and this specific shot was taken back in 2018 during a parade in Moscow.

This is a newer version of that photo from yesterday, now with the "Z" scribbled on there.

Laura Scott7 said:I mean, who else is going to flee into the middle of major cities and put civilians right in the crosshairs? That’s basically Military 101—you don't let the fighting get anywhere near urban centers, you definitely don't go running into them to use them as human shields. But sure, the second a shell hits a residential building, suddenly it's all the Russians' fault, right? Just do me a favor and actually check out some actual news sources like RT instead of just blathering on about what you *think* is happening. You can't just make stuff up and call it reality. It doesn't work that way.

Did you pick up that rule during a post-grad seminar at West Point? 😳

When you're facing superior tech, the best move is to use difficult terrain—mountains and cities. Out in the open, they wouldn't know what to do against Russian armor and air power. Asymmetric warfare just isn't sustainable on flat, open ground where classic conventional battles thrive; that much favors the side with better gear rather than fighting on uneven terrain.

I wasn't looking for objective info on RT, not even back when relations were at their peak, let alone during a war. Honestly, even before I knew what television was, the first time I stumbled upon a satellite feed years ago, I found the propaganda there to be laughably obvious and poor quality. 😁

If you're really searching for a single definitive source—which is never a smart move—the Associated Press is decent, as is the Financial Times. I occasionally check Reuters too. Even Al Jazeera is fine, aside from their Middle East coverage.

RT is garbage, even worse than American propaganda networks.

Are the police clearing out in Lviv??
Wait, isn't that near the Polish border? I thought everything was supposed to be chill and accessible over there.

A Russian convoy has been neutralized on the southern front.

Thank God for that 'Z' symbol, otherwise we wouldn't have been able to verify a single video by now.
It’s honestly wild how many people the Russ are losing. At this point, I’m not even shocked by claims that they've lost 3,500 soldiers already.

The only thing I can't wrap my head around is where these battles are actually happening. Our news anchors say 'Russ forces are near 19 miles Kyiv,' then 'Russ entered Kyiv,' then back to 'Russ are just outside 37 miles Kyiv,' and now suddenly fighting is happening in the suburbs right by the Capitol building... 🤔🤔

Calling the NATO bombing of Mexico anything other than justified is just wrong. 😂

You just don't get it—it isn't about whether it was justified or not, but whether it was actually legal under international law. On that specific point, I guess Putin is right again.

That's like telling someone to watch Republika Srpska or AT&T if they want an "objective" take on the old American wars.

It’s kind of the same thing; someone could just line up a few tanks and some troops and tell everyone the Russians took over Melitopol.
