securing exclusive hegemony over their own hemisphere 👍
We all remember how legitimate regimes were toppled and dictators were propped up in the USA
whenever it served the interests throughout the 20th century, right?
I’d argue that Russians, Americans, the Chinese, and every other aspiring
regional or global hegemon suffer from the "same syndrome."

Yeah, I see the US is starting to gear up for an intervention in Venezuela. Or maybe Cuba.
Nicaragua has completely drifted toward China's orbit lately. When is the US going to move in on them? 😬

The US often plays dirty, sure—but I highly doubt anyone would actually prefer living under Russian or Chinese rule just to avoid it.

Keith Williams3 said:Who exactly is this "we" you're talking about?

It's not like we're Sweden or anything.

The truth is, we were basically tricked into joining NATO without even getting a say through a referendum.
I don't love being part of NATO, but there are two silver linings here.

We aren't bordering Russia, and we aren't the USA either. If things ever actually go nuclear, we probably won't be the primary target.

At worst, it would just be our soldiers stationed on the Russian border who pay the price.

a nuclear war simulation between Russia and the USA, based on research from experts at Princeton.
Europe would just turn to ash, and the USA would be toast too—we're talking 85 million dead. But nope, according to this, it's just some soldiers. Ridiculous.

Honestly, I’m pretty sure this is just some old photo being recirculated. I don't really see the point in moving ICBMs around like that; the whole reason they use mobile launchers is to keep them from getting caught in a first strike by the enemy. There is just so much fake news flying around the internet lately.
It's probably nothing more than a little show of force.

Just so we're all on the same page here, the guy is Žid and his whole thing is just playing nice with the USA, and let's be real, the USA has never actually wanted to see Europe become a powerhouse, much less see Europe getting along with Russia.

John Ross7 said:Hold on a second, is someone actually calling for NATO to jump straight into this war? 😲
If that happens, we can all just head straight for the bunkers, because we're talking about a WW3 of absolutely terrifying proportions.

Nah, man, that’s not even the end of it—it's basically the end of civilization as we know it. That first volley of ICBMs is going to level every major city out West along with all the military bases, and as the strikes keep coming, they'll hit the smaller towns too. I mean, maybe we're small enough that we'll dodge it, but I wouldn't count on it.

Every war involves an information war too.
All sides involved in a conflict use it to varying degrees of success.
In this era of social media, the sheer volume of it has exploded,
so there’s really no reason to take every single
unverified Twitter profile and its posts as gospel truth.

Zelenskyy used to be a comedian, right? He's a complete outsider in the political world... honestly, he's totally screwed over Ukraine and looks like he's well on his way to dragging the whole country back to the Stone Age. It’s just such a tragedy seeing a nation of 43 million people go through this.

If that isn't enough to convince any sane person of who Putin really is and how Russians actually think... then I don't know what is.
So now people wonder why everyone flocks to Europe and absolutely nobody wants to set foot in Russia... unless you're one of those overpaid pro athletes treated like gods everywhere they go.

I've seen a ton of people on here scratching their heads wondering why Putin is doing what he's doing, what actually drives him, or what his end game really looks like.

If you ask me, I think he’s basically become obsessed with Dugin and turned his writings into some kind of personal mantra:

Foundations of Geopolitics

🙂 He’s already checked a few things off his little to-do list, and now he's moved right on to this specific chapter involving Ukraine.

Ukraine should be annexed by Russia because "Ukraine as a state Has no geopolitical meaning, no particular cultural import or universal significance, no geographic uniqueness, no ethnic exclusiveness, its certain territorial ambitions represents an enormous danger for All of Eurasia and , without resolving The Ukrainian

Based on how he's talking lately, it looks like the next chapter on the list is ☕Finland.

Why isn't anyone even talking about this?

He won the majority in basically every single region.

So, this is what wartime propaganda actually looks like...

Does anyone here actually follow Russian media outlets or their social media feeds? I'm curious if they really go this far in demonizing Ukraine and Ukrainians.

I'd much rather get disintegrated in an instant than slowly die from radiation sickness while freezing to death in a nuclear winter.

Micek123456 said:Now the media is suddenly spinning narratives about him losing his grip.
It’s funny how that topic never seems to surface when American presidents initiate wars.🤣 🤣

POTUS is clearly suffering from cognitive decline, and it’s been an ongoing issue for quite some time. It isn't his fault personally, but those in his inner circle really should have advised against a run for office. The man simply lacks the mental capacity required for the job anymore. Replacing him with a Vice President is hardly a solution—so I can only pray that Biden manages to finish his term standing upright. Those currently managing his affairs are going to have their hands full.

On another note, I didn't expect this kind of erratic behavior from Putin, even if I find his political maneuvers quite narrow-minded given the resources at his disposal; I generally consider him an intelligent man. There was logic behind his previous moves—perhaps Syria wasn't necessary, but there was a rationale there. This current dragging out of the conflict in Ukraine has lost all sense of purpose. If he intends to seize that nation, he should assemble a legitimate force and commit fully to the struggle. What we see now is indecision at its worst. The only thing more frustrating than that is the reaction from the Ukrainian citizens, acting as if none of this affects them. There are reasons for that apathy—much like why people stay home during elections in certain parts of the States—rooted in history, economics, and social fractures—but resistance to an aggressor is both possible and mandatory.
When you fail to resist, you essentially give the aggressor a green light to do whatever they please. They are feeling the consequences of that passivity regarding Crimea right now.

If that simulation were run today, the death toll would be 100 times higher, we're talking billions dead in the first week alone, mostly because China, India, Paristan, and all those other places would probably go ahead and settle their own beefs using the exact same methods.
