I am fully aware that you likely intended it that way as well, but I felt an almost compulsive need to emphasize that there is a truly fundamental distinction at play here.

I suppose even that isn't quite "my cup of tea," if I'm being honest, yet I view such gestures among people who find them fitting with a certain degree of fondness. If it brings people joy, then fine... it is genuinely pleasant to see folks finding happiness in something that doesn't cause anyone else any harm...

So, let’s say you finally meet up in person with someone from an online forum—someone you actually care about a lot. Can you even imagine just jumping in for a hug the second you see them? Like, what if the vibes just click instantly and—bam—you’re hugging? 😁
But realistically, isn't that person still basically a stranger to you at that exact moment?

Personally, I can totally picture it happening. 🤷

Though, knowing me, I’d probably just stick to a handshake.

I honestly can't remember if I've even hit a total of 100 hugs in my entire life, let alone managed to squeeze in 4 before breakfast...

bas Quote🤣

I’ve been there too... curiosity just got the better of me... and I ended up falling flat on my face...😁

I always figured I was a liberal. Then I joined this forum and suddenly I'm some hardcore conservative. 😳

Yeah, I feel the same way...😁🙂

Regarding the topic, I have to admit I’m not really much of a hugger in general... but, when it comes to the one who is my everything😍, I am the complete opposite. Physical touch is so high on my list... honestly, I don't think I'd ever want to leave his embrace🙂

It’s Darkić in the original version, but I couldn't find an American version on YouTube 😬

If you’re sitting on a couch watching a movie and staying locked in an embrace for the entire runtime, does that count as just one single hug? 🤔
For hugs to actually yield health benefits, is it more important to focus on quality, frequency, or duration?
I am curious about the methodology used to arrive at those specific figures of 4, 8, or 12?
If someone manages to hug 16, 20, or 24 times a day, is it possible to eventually ascend to the rank of Queen of Space?
I am certainly not asking for a friend 😬

It really boils down to how much you've talked online. That said, I’m also leaning toward a more formal approach since meeting up is basically starting from square one.

I get the impulse, since someone behind a screen can become so dear to you, but still... when you're standing face-to-face, you're looking at a stranger. 😁

I'm not really a hugger in general, and I don't love being touched by people (except for my inner circle)... but I'd likely just end up shaking hands too. 😬

Those colder, more reserved types—the ones who carry this aura of distance and authority—aren't just going to go around hugging everyone they see. 😁
Then you’ve got the free spirits, the "go with the flow" crowd who are always upbeat and relaxed; they’re way more likely to get physical. Not always, obviously, but certainly easier than the first group. 🎉
Look, this is a massive generalization, and most people fall somewhere in the middle, but I think you get what I'm getting at. Personally, I’m cool with both vibes.

Ashley Vaughn79, regarding that second part of your post, I actually assumed the same thing about Byron. You know those people the Americans call "touchy-feely"? They’d definitely fall into that second category. And no, that's not you. Just to be clear, I don't mean that in a bad way. Honestly, I find it really beautiful to see people who have a small, hand-picked circle of people they share deep, unbreakable bonds with. 😍

Even if the date went perfectly? (Assuming there actually was a date)

There are all kinds of hugs out there, right? Those casual, friendly ones? Honestly, those have happened to me every single time I've met up with someone from a forum. And just to be clear, these weren't dates or anything—they were strictly pre-planned hangouts with people I'd already spent ages getting to know online. It didn't feel like meeting a stranger; it felt like seeing an old friend.

That really depends on who we're talking about.
If you’ve been chatting with another woman on here and the vibe is genuinely good—like, we’ve actually hit it off—then why wouldn't you just go for a Hug Day? No reason not to.
If the forum user is...
Huh, I don't know...
It feels a little silly to me—shaking hands with people I already have a decent relationship with.
It feels like we just walked into a corporate board meeting. 🤷.

I’d just play it by ear—no need to overthink things or prep everything in advance.
I guess you can see the hype for what it is—and exactly where a person stands in relation to it.

Exactly! It’s just one of those moments, nothing more.🙂

Look, I don't go around hugging strangers, casual acquaintances, or my classmates at NYU (okay, fine, maybe a couple of times😁), but friends, family, and the people close to me? Yeah, absolutely.

But today, I seriously needed a group hug. 🙂
Just hug each other, people. Show some love and actually enjoy being alive... 🙂

I suspect its value could be even higher—perhaps more than we’re currently giving it credit for. 😁
Just a minute later—and that’s a second hug. 😁

I’m not really the hugging type—that's more of a girl thing—but if I found myself out on a one-on-one drink, I suppose that kind of behavior would be perfectly fine.
What do you mean "strangers"? We've known each other long enough to call that out—we aren't exactly strangers at this point. 🤣

Regarding the topic, looks like I don't hug nearly enough. Not surprising, honestly—I live alone, and hugging random people on the street isn't really happening at this hour 🤔
I’d say any hug, regardless of how you categorize them, is a good hug 😁

Mishon's all set, anything else you need from me? 😒
