Charles Ramos7 said:If I pay using a credit card, does that count as a cash advance or just a standard POS transaction? 🤔 If it's the latter, that’s actually a pretty sweet deal, even if it wasn't really meant for that purpose 😁

So, what’s the verdict here? What are we actually looking at? 😁

Charles Ramos7 said:$167 transferred 😂 when their limits are ridiculously low. They should fix those first... honestly, I registered too, but haven't sent a dime yet.

I actually transferred my $3.25. 😬

Just had a buddy send me 2x$333 via PayPal.

It’s basically just a straight shot of names and account numbers 😁 btw. A sender could even try setting up two accounts via $333 in a single day; the recipient will see both messages, but only one transaction actually goes through. The second one will just hit an error and might finally clear the next day.

I get it, but their terms of service are pretty vague about how they can just freeze anyone whenever they feel like it. Especially since you guys set up a limit that’s like, thirty times the average transaction amount... 😬

I’ll probably be the first one on the chopping block once I actually start getting serious about this work...😁

It’s honestly a great move seeing more and more apps like this popping up on the market.
I don't actually have an account with Chase, but personally, I rely on PayPal.

They do charge some minor fees when you're transferring money, but the real kicker is the flexibility—you can send funds from abroad just as easily as you can send them overseas. The transfers hit your account instantly; I mean, literally the second you hit send. Plus, you can withdraw cash at various gas stations, giving you actual hard cash right when you need it, which is exactly what the app is designed for.

I actually stumbled upon them because of sports betting; using PayPal makes it incredibly easy to fund my accounts at certain domestic betting sites.

It’s honestly about time we started seeing more apps like this hitting the market.
I don't actually bank with Chase, but personally, I swear by PayPal.

They charge some minor fees when you're moving money around, but the real kicker is the international flexibility—you can send funds from abroad or transfer them overseas without any massive headaches. The transfers hit your account instantly; I mean, literally the second you press send. Plus, you can actually withdraw physical cash at various gas stations, which gives you that actual liquid cash access the app's name implies.

I actually stumbled onto them because of sports betting; using PayPal makes it incredibly easy to fund my accounts at certain local bookies.

I’ve always wondered how these transactions are actually categorized when you send money from a credit card directly to a private account. Is it processed as a standard POS transaction—meaning no fees—or does it count as a cash advance? If it really functions like a POS sale, that’s a massive win, though I have my doubts. Is it possible this is just one of those loopholes the big banks haven't even realized they need to plug yet?

On a similar note, services like PayPal offer all sorts of ways to move money via credit, including transfers to personal accounts. However, I haven't quite had the chance to test whether they hit you with extra surcharges when you're essentially paying yourself. 🤣

Email doesn't work for private accounts, and even for some business ones, credit card payments are super limited—you can only use debit cards, and honestly, some accounts just won't take anything at all.

Are you absolutely certain it doesn't work for private accounts? I haven't actually tested it myself, but looking through the settings, it seems like it might 🤔

It says so right there in the terms, and honestly, I’ve actually tried it myself—not exactly recently, though, more like a few years back.
Where exactly is it showing you that it's possible?

It won't. You can only use the Email service to pay bills issued by businesses. Sending money to an individual's account isn't an option through this service.

When I try to set up a new transfer, the "purpose of payment" options are honestly hilarious—they all basically imply you're just sending money privately to someone.

But you're right, it actually won't work. I just tried it myself: once you type in your own Routing Number at the end and hit save, it throws an error saying "payment to the entered Routing Number is not permitted." What a bummer.

The purpose codes follow the ISO 20022 standard, so you have to stick to them exactly—no typos, no extra characters, nothing... just get it right or it won't work.

I’ve never really understood why some companies restrict or completely dodge using Email for payments. At first, I figured they were losing a cut because the payment processor takes a slice, but that’s not it—they actually get the full amount paid. 🤷

I’m not totally certain, but I’m guessing the USPS just made the call on their own—maybe some internal policy or a nudge from the card issuers—just to stop people from using credit cards for quick cash advances.
