I remember this thread popping up back in December—or somewhere around there. I didn't catch every single post, but honestly? It feels like this whole thing boils down to the OP just looking for validation that they were never even in the running to succeed. It’s like getting sympathy from other users feeds into this perfect excuse to just... stay paralyzed. Like, why bother fighting if everything is pointless and the future is doomed, right? Any actual advice people try to give gets shut down automatically because it clashes with that victim mentality they've leaned into. Hey, if that's how you want to cope, fine—but why drag everyone else into it? Why start another thread where anyone who actually puts in the effort to help just gets hit with some "it's hopeless for me" or "thanks, but I'm not listening" nonsense? No one on this board can hand you a magic recipe to fix your life when you simply refuse to move an inch—and that's really the heart of the matter. You could start five more threads exactly like this, but they'll all end up in the exact same place.

So short, yet so incredibly spot on 🙂

I wouldn't say I see myself perfectly in your description back when I was 26, but I can definitely relate to parts of it. On one hand, I get where you're coming from—it’s easy to just say "get up and fight," claiming it's all mental, but life isn't always that black and white. I don't know if any of the advice you've picked up will actually help; some of it is solid, but much of it feels pretty irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. Right now, your problems feel massive, like a mountain standing in your way, leaving you wondering how or where to even start. But here's the catch: time doesn't stop. Life moves forward, and our parents are getting older; eventually, that safety net they provide is going to shrink. One day, you'll wake up and realize there's no one else to cover the bill for a new pair of Nikes, breakfast, or even your Wi-Fi, and you'll have to handle it yourself. Whether you end up working a blue-collar job or running a Fortune 500 company, the reality remains the same. Trust me, the struggles you're facing today will seem like nothing in a few years.

He won't work because he already knows he'll screw up the job, and failing at work will only drag him deeper into the abyss, right?

And for heaven's sake, please use a capital letter at the start of your sentences!!! No offense intended, but seriously.🎉🙂

If you had a sadistic psychopath for a father, you’d have run away from home just to dig trenches and live in a shack—and you’d be happy about it! You’d actually be shouting about how great life is, just as long as you didn't have to look at him. But hey, since you're all elderly fossils now, I guess you just lack any real motivation or survival instinct.
There’s nothing quite like the pure agony of taking off tight shoes.

Sounds like a charming young man. I just hope he finds someone to pull him through this soon. ☕

I can barely wrap my head around someone actually feeling this way. In the first thread he was whining about looks, and now he’s complaining about how everything is just fundamentally broken. Look, guys will put up with basically anything if a woman is hot—but that's not really a two-way street, especially if you're: a) unattractive, b) jobless, or c) just have a terrible personality. Sure, you can fix B and C, but this guy seems to hate absolutely everything... so, yeah.
