Hi there... so, I ended up picking up two identical phones recently—one for myself and one for a close friend—but since I bought them both at once, things have become a bit of a muddle. Now that they’re sitting here in front of me, I’ve somehow managed to mix up the warranty paperwork, and I'm feeling a little lost trying to figure out which document belongs to which device. It turns out the serial number on the physical phone doesn't seem to match the one printed on the warranty sheet, so I'm stuck wondering how I can verify which is which?
The thing is, I actually need to return one of them because it’s malfunctioning,

So you're telling me the serial number on both phones doesn't even match what's printed on the warranty paperwork? If that's actually the case, we've got a real issue on our hands. Whichever one you hand over to them isn't going to cut it...

That is precisely my point... I'm being completely serious here 🤦🤦🤦...

Grab both phones along with their warranty papers, pull up the receipt that clearly shows the purchase date and the exact number of units you bought, and head straight to the store.
That’s my first move.
Let them sort out their own mess while you demand either a full refund or brand-new replacements with legitimate paperwork.
If they try to get cute or start making excuses, just mention you're filing a complaint with Consumer Reports and call it a day.

When did you buy them?
