I really want to believe this is something worth more than just a dozen people showing up for.

I’m just asking, honestly—trying to gauge if there's enough momentum here to even get a protest off the ground. I haven't seen any signs of a teacher's strike brewing over this yet, but maybe we could be the ones to kick things off? There are plenty of us out there.

Honestly, this reform is one of the few solid projects we've seen around here lately. 😬

But I'm not trying to start a panic where it doesn't belong. From what I hear, neither the new Secretary nor Microsoft want this thing stopped.

Ann, it looks like that stuff just slipped out during the Government presentation by mistake. Probably just because they were rushing through negotiations so fast...🤣 🤣

Why would they even publish something like that if there isn't at least a plan for a formal review of the reform?

Man, life is just one big joke sometimes... I don't think I'd actually make it out, but would a massive donation of rotten eggs count toward my contribution? 😠

My money's on an Illich diversion. 😈 Like, maybe nobody notices and it just slips through.

Just kidding... honestly, who knows. It looks sketchy to me too. I don't doubt they'll give the project a quick once-over, but at this point, I'm just banking on people actually using their heads. 🕺

The thing is, under current laws, school employees aren't actually allowed to go on strike over how reforms are being handled—the labor strike law basically limits strikes strictly to protecting material rights and wages.

Can someone drop a link? This is the first time I'm hearing about this.

Labor Law
STRIKES AND RESOLVING COLLECTIVE LABOR DISPUTES
Strikes and solidarity strikes

Article 205.
(1) Unions have the legal right to call for and carry out a strike to protect and promote the economic and social interests of their members—this also includes striking if wages, portions of pay, or benefits aren't paid out by the actual due date.

Okay, looking at this now, I realize I picked the wrong word. I really should have said "protest" instead of "strike."

I mean, I don't even see any sign of teachers planning a protest over the repeal of those reforms. Is that better?

Personally, I think parents are going to be a much bigger force for protesting because this is about their kids' future.

But look, I’m ready to show up too—both as an educator and as a parent.🎉

Even if I have to do it with a broken leg. 😬

The media coverage on this whole reform situation is honestly such a mess; it’s hard to tell what’s actually happening.

One minute the headlines are screaming that everything is being shut down, then they backtrack and say that's not true, and now we've got this update from Ilcic today:
He basically confirmed that the education overhaul and the development of the new curriculum aren't being halted—everything is still moving forward according to the original schedule—though he did mention they're planning to tweak certain sections.

At the end of the day, we really need to get a clear picture of the actual facts before we can make sense of any of this.😁

I mean, what kind of factor is he even in this whole thing right now?
officially speaking, I guess.
what role has he actually carved out for himself? 🤮

From what I can gather, there isn't any actual power sitting in the executive branch right now; they’re all just banking on this vague idea of what might happen 😁

But anyway, everyone is basically hitting a wall at the same time—both the winners and the losers—so you end up getting even less coverage from the news than usual, making it pretty much impossible to figure out what’s actually going down.

I caught a segment on NBC 3 last night, and honestly, I get the feeling they’re trying to stall the whole reform process... it feels like we're seeing those same old reformers from back in 2003 🤮

Paar seemed to lose his way a bit during the debate, though he stayed pretty stubborn about claiming that Jokic is pressuring the expert team to follow his lead 😢
He seems to think—probably based on his own past experiences—that if everyone doesn't think exactly alike, then the entire team is useless 🤣

And to top it off, he actually had the nerve to complain that since he’s leading the expert group, he doesn't have enough teaching experience, implying it's somehow insufficient compared to the other 400 participants involved in the reform 🤣

It really looks like they're just clearing the path to oust Jokic and slide in one of the President's buddies to take over.

At this rate, the entire curriculum overhaul is going straight down the drain. 😢

Why act surprised? Every time there’s a change in administration, everything the previous one started just hits a wall. 🙄
