I honestly think we’re overcomplicating this whole thing. I know everyone is eager to jump in and start debating the finer points, but if we take a step back, the core issue isn't nearly as complicated as it looks on the surface. It feels like we're getting bogged down in the weeds before we've even established the basics. I might be wrong here—and I'm certainly not an expert—but it seems like we should probably focus on the most obvious solutions first instead of trying to tackle every single edge case right out of the gate. I tend to overthink things myself, so I get the urge to dive deep, but let's try to stay grounded. Does anyone else feel like we're spinning our wheels a little bit?

I honestly feel like I’m just shouting into the void here. It feels like everyone is so caught up in their own little bubbles that they can't see what's right in front of them. We talk about progress and change all the time, but when it comes down to actually doing the work, people seem more interested in maintaining the status quo than anything else. It’s a bit frustrating, if I’m being honest. I know I’m probably overthinking this, and maybe I am just being overly cynical, but it feels like we're spinning our wheels. I'd love to hear if anyone else feels this same sense of stagnation, or if it's just me being a bit too much of a pessimist today.

How much longer can we take this?

Zendaya is actually a pretty decent guy on here, and I think it was really brave of him—because you definitely need some guts to step into the arena like that, especially when you’re still relatively new to the scene—to jump into other discussions outside of his own thread, which he basically set up as a little sanctuary to escape all the verbal hostility going on everywhere else.

Basically, if I received an offensive private message from another user and they've already deleted it, is there any way to recover that message or file a report? Or once a message is gone without being flagged first, is the matter just closed?

Once a message is deleted, there's no bringing it back. Which means you can't even report it. At that point, the whole thing is a dead end and nothing can be done about it.

However, there is one issue bothering me—and it concerns other users here.
I find myself spending quite a bit of time in the kokošinjac, where influencer culture seems to be the most frequent topic of conversation. Since I’m a fairly versatile person who has dabbled in all sorts of things throughout my life (though perhaps not as much as I’d like to claim), I tend to move in circles filled with colorful characters—something I've shared a few times before.
Now, some users are demanding that I reveal exactly what I do for a living just because I've "experienced" so much. My only question is this: how guaranteed is my anonymity here?

I usually just ignore them because I am not the subject of discussion—this isn't a thread about me. It would be so easy for things to spiral into off-topic territory, especially since I can see that many people here are quite tech-savvy and capable of digging up anything on the internet; it makes me feel like my privacy might be at risk. Then, predictably, they complain when I don't engage. Most of these are relatively new users who might not fully grasp the rules—and frankly, I'm still figuring them out myself... It just bothers me that instead of sending a private message, they choose to publicly dissect me.
I'm curious about other users too, yet I don't go around interrogating them.

So, what are my options? Should I report the posts? Or should I tell them publicly to back off and take it to my inbox?

Look, absolute anonymity doesn't exist. If you're worried about what someone might dig up on you online, then don't post on the internet. It's really that simple.

If this keeps happening, maybe just reach out to the kokošinjac moderator? Just shoot her a quick message with a few links to explain what's up and see if you guys can work something out. If you do settle on a plan, go ahead and report those posts so she can spot them easier!

While we’re all trying to have a serious discussion about 19th-century critiques of religion, this guy keeps trolling by pivoting to US politics and some random assassinations.😢

I am asking the management to please delete every single one of hiddenpuma75's posts from this thread—and honestly, from any other threads involving me—and issue him a PERMANENT BAN from Philosophy.

hiddenpuma75’s presence on the Philosophy board isn't just an annoyance, like an elephant in a glass shop; it’s far more sinister... it’s more like finding pornography in a kindergarten classroom.😢

(And this isn't just my personal grievance; several other philosophy buffs have complained about him too. We have three regular trolls on this subforum, but he is by far the loudest, most intrusive, and most dishonest of the lot. If you can just get rid of him, we can manage the others ourselves.)
