JP Morgan Chase, Wells Fargo, or Goldman Sachs—you really can't go wrong with those heavy hitters. When it comes to loans, though, it’s a bit more nuanced since the "best" option depends entirely on what you're actually looking to fund—but personally, if I were hunting for credit, I wouldn't even look at anyone outside of those three big players. That said, a word of caution: every single bank out there will try to squeeze you for every penny the second they get the chance—it's just how the game is played—and you're almost guaranteed to run into some uninformed staff members who don't quite know the fine print when you need them most.

I was leaning toward JPMorgan Chase at first, but after seeing all those warnings and reading a few posts, I'm starting to second-guess things. I've also got Wells Fargo or maybe Bank of America on my radar.

If I'm reading this right, Bank of America lets you deposit cash directly into your account via an ATM. Does anyone else have that kind of setup?

Wells Fargo.

JP Morgan Chase and Wells Fargo (and probably most of the big players too) have those deposit ATMs that actually come in handy!

I’m fairly certain I caught a glimpse of a Goldman Sachs ATM somewhere once or two.

Well, they're definitely useful for them 😁

Goldman Sachs maintains a deposit ATM near the start of Fifth Avenue in NYC, and likely one at their headquarters on Broadway too. Beyond that, there isn't much. In fact, I doubt they even have them in other cities.

The local branch in Miami has ATMs for deposits. Not sure about Chicago, but it’d be pretty ridiculous if they had them here and not there.

I'm thinking about moving my money over to Goldman Sachs. There isn't a single ATM in my neighborhood, and they have zero intention of installing one. It's pretty rude, honestly.
I've been looking into Bank of America, but I'm not sure if their mobile banking actually works well. Also, can you link their cards to PayPal?

Word on the street is Bank of America is killing it right now.
As for PayPal? Who knows...

They offer Visa cards, so yeah—they should work with PayPal just fine.

Honestly, everyone should just move their accounts over to Bank of America... maybe then we’d actually see some real change happening for once...

Well, that's great news! I can pull cash from any branch, and I'm at the bank quite often for business. Bank of America wins.

Aha 😬

The most useless bank I’ve ever had the misfortune of dealing with... honestly, just a total joke.

True—having those post offices act like mini-branches is a huge plus. I bet the Treasury Department works similarly.
They were a total disaster about 5 or 6 years ago, but they've actually stepped up lately... across the board.

I mean, if they actually had a decent user base, things might look different, but they don't...

I’m a pretty low-maintenance customer. I don't need credit lines or overdraft protection; all I really want is a solid checking account, some foreign currency options, and functional online banking.

I’d suggest JP Morgan Chase.

PS: I just caught up on your previous posts... Do you have an account with Wells Fargo, and how has that been working out for you?
I also stick to simple domestic and foreign currency accounts linked to my payroll, but since the nearest branch is a bit of a trek, the whole thing is becoming quite a chore...

I keep my checking account at JPMorgan Chase just because there are no fees. Honestly, though, their service is incredibly sluggish. My husband uses them for his business too, and the level of incompetence they let slide is just unbelievable.
