Who exactly is this "Board of Elections"? It’s interesting how much airtime they've managed to grab in the news lately.

We are calling upon the citizens of America to participate in referendums!

American activists and well-meaning citizens have decided to put an end to political overreach and the reckless looting of the people. The Board of Elections has been established and is launching a

REFERENDUM UPRISING

Please, stay informed, get involved, and share this manifesto—there is a media blackout happening at every level. Please have your Social Security number ready to ensure more accurate processing of the citizen signature books.

SIGNATURE COLLECTION BEGINS ON FEBRUARY 13, 2013.

Please state whether you believe there is a need for a referendum on the following questions: Are you FOR or AGAINST

A. Reversing the privatization and other transfers of non-personal property from 1990 to the present day?

B. The sell-off of America's assets, real estate, and natural resources?

C. America joining the European Union?

D. A ban on the production and sale of GMO in America?

Someone should probably remind them—if anyone is actually listening—that we already held a referendum regarding joining the European Union. 😍😍

What does GMO even have to do with this 🤦

In theory, I'd be all for it, but after this whole mess regarding GMOs and getting everything lined up for the European Union, there's just no way...

This is a necessary move and a genuine attempt to pull America out of the hellscape we’re currently living in. If anyone honestly believes they can change reality just by whining on forums or social media, they are dead wrong. And what exactly is this committee? It’s clearly laid out in their own article—it’s just a group of awake, driven people who stopped crying about problems and started looking for actual solutions. They aren't superheroes; they're just regular Americans who actually give a damn. You can find everything regarding the luck factor and their activist services online; it’s all completely transparent. Why is it so hard for some people to grasp that organized groups of thinkers exist? Basically, various associations and plenty of individuals teamed up, formed this committee, and got to work. It’s really that simple.
Secondly, under the law, a referendum can be revisited when it concerns joining the European Union, which is exactly why these signatures are being collected. Back during the last referendum, the voter turnout was laughably low, which just shows how little people cared—they were totally checked out. At that time, nobody fully understood the implications of joining the European Union, but today, the facts are clear. These four questions are vital for the economic stability of the US and for a decent quality of life for every single citizen in this country. If you prefer the status quo, feel free to keep supporting the fire sale of our forests, our water, our real estate, and everything else we own. Go ahead and fight to keep your spot living next to a dumpster.
Even the longest journey starts with a single step. You have to fight for what matters; nothing good ever just falls into your lap...

Yeah.
Out of nowhere,
then suddenly they're all over the headlines! 😁

The whole thing just reeks of an inside job.

I’m a huge fan of this initiative, so I wanted to weigh in on what everyone else has been saying:

Who exactly is this "electoral college" group?

I’ve always figured that a board is actually made up of people who want to get things done instead of just sitting around complaining at a bar. I doubt they’d turn away anyone genuinely enthusiastic about helping out, but hey, there's no harm in reaching out and checking, right? 😉.
It’s pretty wild how much airtime they managed to grab in the media.

It’s pretty wild how they managed to grab that kind of media coverage. Honestly, it’s a massive win for them—it shows they aren't just sitting on good ideas, but they actually have the muscle to get people talking.

Someone needs to remind them that we already held a referendum on joining the European Union.

I bet they’ve already been told—just like they were told that opposing viewpoints don't stand a chance at getting even an ounce of media coverage. And honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if they also heard that Ms. Pusić threatened to cut off retirees' benefits if we didn't join the European Union.

What does GMO have to do with any of this?

The whole GMO debate ties directly back to the upcoming referendum because, at the end of the day, we should be the ones deciding what goes on our dinner tables and what we feed our kids. It shouldn't be a given that someone else makes those calls for us. Honestly, wouldn't it be nice if we actually had a say in the basics—like the air we breathe, the food we eat, and the water we drink? Just a thought, though. I know that's up for debate. 😉.

I’d be on board with them in principle, but after that whole mess over GMOs and the push to align everything with European Union standards? There's just no way.

Sure, GMOs are fantastic—as long as you’re on the payroll at Monsanto or companies just like them. Joining the European Union will basically wrap up the whole overhaul; whatever little bit of autonomy we have left will be stripped away by our dear partners across the Atlantic, finally freeing us from the burden of actually owning anything ourselves. We’ll finally be liberated from everything we worked so hard to build. It’s our own debt to carry!

They’re acting like they actually belong to our group, as if they're one of us.

It’s the perfect excuse to just sit around doing absolutely nothing instead of actually making a move. We just keep whining at the local bar: "I'm against *them*," while anyone who claims they aren't part of "them" is just a closeted member of the group trying to play it safe. So, what do we do? We just signal the bartender and order another round.

The election board... but wait, who actually picked them in the first place?

That’s a great point. Imagine someone collapses on a sidewalk in downtown Chicago because of a sudden heart attack, and a random bystander jumps in to perform CPR and saves their life. Once that person finally comes to, they might actually look at their rescuer and ask, "Wait, who exactly gave you permission to step in and save me?" 🤣
Your logic is honestly flawless: we vote for the people who are going to ruin us, and then if someone actually steps up to try and fix things, we turn around and ask, "Who gave you permission to lead?"

So, what? You want all those bought-up apartments to go back to being public housing?

Or are you just terrified of the very real possibility that they'll "liberate" our privately owned homes through some creative new tax hikes?

Hey everyone—and if you don't mind, let's try having a little faith in the people who aren't riding our coattails. I'm talking about the folks actually spending their own hard-earned money on activism just to save whatever's left of this country.

I’m throwing an idea out there: let's hold a national referendum to hike up salaries and pensions by 300%.

By the time we actually get to that date, they'll have bled us completely dry, so don't hold your breath for any kind of referendum...

This feels like a bit of a setup... honestly, I'd much rather see them pass laws that actually allow referendums to decide the really big, essential issues. But let's be real: that idea is such a long shot for both the Democratic Party and the Republican Party that I find it hard to believe Congress would ever pass something like that as long as those two parties are calling all the shots...

It’s all the same old song and dance,
they just want to pick off whatever's left of the voting population 😁
that loyal little army of party voters they've got on tap,
who always show up to the polls like clockwork—
while everyone else needs to stay as scattered and disorganized as possible.😁

If it means doing favors for the big corporations,
it’s a total walk in the park.😁

But that’s exactly why this movement was started! How else do you think things are ever going to change? By hitting a "like" button on Facebook? It’s common sense that the people should decide the major issues—that we should be consulted on them. If the government refuses to ask us anything and won't even keep us informed, isn't it better if the people take it upon themselves to ask? That’s a right we have under the law.

Do you have any idea how many signatures you actually need to collect to trigger a legal referendum, and how tight the deadline is???
In my opinion, there is zero chance this initiative succeeds, regardless of how noble its intentions might be.
The only way to truly ensure citizens have more power through referendums is to elect a party during the general elections that is actually committed to changing those laws. But since it's neither the Republican Party nor The underdog, I'm staying skeptical. Public initiatives like this one usually run into a brick wall because the establishment will do everything in its power to sideline them—whether that's through media blackout, counter-campaigns, or just trolls flooding the forums.
It's a great idea in theory, but it's a long shot, at least for now.

I know exactly how many signatures are required and the timeframe involved; I assume that's why they're looking for volunteers in the first place. It’s pretty obvious, isn't it?
Whether it succeeds or fails is something we can only find out by actually trying. Writing someone off as a failure before they even begin is just as ridiculous as saying a kid is destined to be a certain way the moment they're born. If you want to make a difference, step up and help. If not, then just sit back and watch...

So, the referendum wasn't "fair," was it? And now, you expect the very same people who organized that "unfair" vote through sheer coercion to simply scrap it and organize a brand new one... 🙏
And all this while the exact same crowd remains firmly in power. 😁

Wouldn't it be better if we had a referendum every single week on any issue of national importance? Maybe even hold elections for US Congress every week, too. Just so even the slightest shift in public opinion could actually shape our government and policy.

We didn't hold a national vote on joining NATO, so why on earth would we need a referendum now?
Everything valuable has already been sold off, leaving us with nothing. What exactly is the point of a referendum?

Are we voting on tearing up our treaty with Vatican City?
A referendum to scrap those congressional pensions and special perks?
Or maybe one to abolish political privileges altogether?
How about a vote on actually enforcing laws against incompetence?

Which referendum are we even talking about, gentlemen?
