Hi there—please feel free to delete this if it’s against the rules, but I wanted to reach out. I'm 15 years old, and lately, I've been struggling with stuttering, a real lack of self-confidence, and some pretty rough sleep issues... plus, I tend to be way too withdrawn.
Since yesterday morning, I've had this bizarre sensation—almost like I'm in a coma or just completely disconnected from reality. It’s like nothing feels real, even though I know it is; it's such an unsettling feeling. When I first woke up, I actually thought I was in a coma! It's just a deeply uncomfortable state of being. If anyone here understands what might be going on, could you please let me know?

I could easily just tell him, "Look, kid, you're just going through a phase; get out of the house, hang with your friends, go hike some trails, or just find somewhere fun to blow off steam. Life is actually pretty incredible—especially when you're fifteen and feel like the whole world is yours for the taking..." 😬

🙄

Could you maybe try to give an even stupider answer to this topic? Just a little bit? Come on. Put some effort in, you can do better than this!

Nothing has actually started yet. You're just finally waking up to the fact that this whole thing is a joke—just a massive illusion where nothing in this world is even real.
It’s all just a game.

Can you explain what you mean by "nothing feels real, but at the same time, everything does"?

It’s been going on for quite a while now—two and a half years, actually—but these last three days have felt just... off. It’s hard to put into words, really—it’s like I’m stuck in a dream or something, almost like I’m not even standing on solid ground here in the States. There’s this heavy, restless energy in the air lately; everyone seems so much more on edge, snapping at one another and picking fights over nothing. It’s exhausting, honestly. And then, as if things couldn't get any more inconvenient, my TV decided to just give up the ghost this morning—total blackout. Just dead. As if that wasn't enough to deal with already! Now I've got the whole ordeal of shopping for a new one on my hands. Seriously, just what I needed.

I’ll be honest—I have absolutely no clue what you wrote there, mostly because my English isn't quite up to par yet! I ended up posting this in the Alternative sub because... well, I don't know, I just feel this pull toward magic? It's hard to say if it's a genuine calling or if I've just talked myself into believing it, but the feeling is definitely there. I even tried asking about it through Tarot and Astrology, but they wouldn't give me a reading since I'm still under 18.

Well, please, speak up if you don't understand. I wrote it in English, and the parts I've bolded translate roughly to this:

"Don’t feel like you’re ‘in’ your life" = You feel detached from your own existence—similar to how you mentioned earlier that it feels like you aren't even on Earth.
"Poor sleep" = Weak or non-existent sleep.
"Not feeling like you’re ‘in’ your own body; not aware of body movements, etc." = A sensation of being disconnected from your physical self; lacking awareness of bodily movements, and so on.

This has nothing to do with magic. In my view, it would be far more productive to move this thread over to the Psychology section; you'll find much more well-read individuals there with the actual experience required to assist you. Frankly, your symptoms sound like dissociation. Just copy the text you wrote here along with the link to this thread and post it there—that way people can see the context of the previous answers—and things should settle down.

Edit. I see now that you've edited your post. And yes, you did put it in the right spot—sort of. What you're describing is an internal issue, and those topics belong under Psychology. There, you'll get the help needed to truly grasp the root of the problem and receive some useful advice.

I’m with Adam Bennett23 on this one. You just wake up one day and suddenly you’re seeing everything through a different lens, and then everyone starts slapping the "depression" label on it.

If you’re fifteen, or even if you’re some kind of "gifted" kid, honestly, most of it feels pretty irrelevant because your whole perception of reality is shifting anyway. It's messy. I don't really have any profound wisdom to offer—and I'm not big on handing out advice on public forums—but I've been through something similar. If you want to talk about it, we can move the conversation to PM.

Not a chance. silvermason2 sounds like she’s trying to recruit you into some weird cult for "astral experiences."

Stick to whole foods, fruits, and veggies. Once you get some energy back, start doing physical work or try running and swimming—it helps ground you back in reality. Most importantly, shift your mindset; changing how you see things changes your entire outlook.
As for the stuttering, that usually crops up during periods of intense stress. You can look into seeing a doctor about it.

Yeah... sign that every single word...

You are young—and on top of that, you're withdrawn, you stutter, and you struggle with confidence—which suggests this likely stems from certain underlying issues. All of this probably culminated in a form of depression, which led to what I suspect is dissociation. I was actually reading about this just yesterday, and what you described—specifically the parts I've highlighted—strongly resembles dissociation.

Numbness implies that your vital life energy has been blocked or frozen. Generally, unless we can get the energy and vitality flowing again, we continue to bask in the numb state.

Difficulty communicating or “connecting” to emotions (also known as ‘normative male alexithymia’)
Hard time expressing angry feelings
“Fuzzy” quality to things, experiences, people, food, etc.
Low Energy, or constant fatigue
Don’t feel like you’re ‘in’ your life
Poor sleep

Feel irritable with others
Don’t want to associate with others
Generally don’t enjoy the activities you once did
Not feeling like you’re ‘in’ your own body; not aware of body movements, etc.

Yes, it looks like that to me. However, I am not in your shoes, and it would be difficult for me to know more based solely on such a brief description. Furthermore, I am no psychiatrist—I am only two years older than you.

Look, this is the Alternative subforum. I am not sure how many people here will be able to help you, so I suggest moving this thread over to the psychology subforum. Good luck.

And what would that even mean...? Being under some kind of magical influence?! C'mon... 🙄🙄
Or maybe they're claiming to be an "indigo child" or some sort of "crystal child"? 🤣😂

My dear young friend, please, go outside and get moving. Life is passing you by right now, and you're missing out on your prime years—those beautiful, easy days when you aren't weighed down by the heavy lifting of adulthood like a career, bills, mortgages, or managing a family...
Go sign up for a local sports league or hit the gym; you'll find that once you break out of this mental fog, you'll realize you were just imagining all of this... 😉

Thanks to everyone for the replies—honestly, you all might be onto something here... maybe I really am an indigo child, because everything just seems to line up so perfectly...
silvermason2, I sent you a DM, but would you also be interested if someone took a look at your tarot cards?

Just drop the New Age nonsense and the unprovable stuff. Stick to reality and leave the tarot cards behind.
Maybe you just have ADHD. Everything has a cause and an effect, even this whole thing you're describing.

Glad you gave him the heads up. Honestly, I'm a witch myself and was totally planning on performing some satanic ritual with him. Way to go.

Listen, kid,

I really want to help you out here, so I’m just gonna give you the best advice I’ve got. Regarding the stuttering—which I know can be incredibly awkward and frustrating—there’s actually a specialist over in Cleveland who works alongside his daughter, and they have a nearly 100% success rate with treating it. I can't recall his name off the top of my head, but honestly, just ask for him at the hospital front desk. I don't know where you're located, but if there's any way you can make the trip, go see him. He’ll get you sorted.
Just start somewhere—do a little bit every single day and you'll pull through. You're way too young to throw in the towel; you've got a whole life ahead of you, and trust me, it's going to be a good one.

Back when I was that age, my ultimate remedy for everything was just grabbing a video rental and finding a movie starring Jenna Jameson. These days, though, getting a hold of that kind of content is so much easier; you don't have to deal with that awkwardness of walking up to a counter at a local video store anymore. You just fire up your computer, head over to RedTube, and honestly, you'll figure out the rest pretty quickly once you get started. Give it a shot! 👍
