Here’s my take on what I know about them:
- way sharper perception (honestly, they put today's crowd to shame)
- a memory like an elephant
- just naturally gifted when it comes to acting, music, painting... basically, they were born artists 😁
- total bundles of energy—super hyperactive
- and get this—scientists have actually claimed that every single leftie who sat for an IQ test clocked in at over 140

What do you guys think? Let me hear your thoughts!

I honestly don't think any of this holds water.

Hmm, now this is an interesting topic to dive into.
Based on how things look, it’s certainly a possibility, but I don't think there's enough concrete evidence to back it up just yet. We can speculate all we want, but... "Acting talents, musicians, painters... basically, anything involving the arts" Could you actually name a few artists who fit that description? Like, people who are left-handed? "Hyperactive" Honestly, if you ask me, I'd say it's actually the exact opposite...

Do you have any actual research to back those claims up? 🤔

From what I understand, the whole left-handed phenomenon isn't exactly a settled science. In the specific studies I've come across, there's a notable difference in how language centers are organized compared to right-handers. It’s not just about them being on the opposite side of the brain; unlike right-handers, their language processing isn't always localized to one specific spot—it can shift 🤔 I'm sure there's plenty of more detailed material out there...

The differences you're pointing out feel a bit too much like "common sense" to be scientifically grounded. Even when differences do exist, they're usually nowhere near as extreme as the claim that everyone has a 140 IQ. Honestly, the whole thing sounds like an urban legend to me. I’d need to see something more concrete than just assumptions; surely this is a phenomenon that's been studied enough to yield some real data 🤷

Quincy:
angela1234 As stated by:
Here is my understanding of them:
A superior perception compared to today's generation.
Enhanced memory retention.
Acting, music, painting—it all falls under one umbrella: art. 😁
Hyperactive.
Researchers claim that every leftist who took an IQ test scored above 140.

Provide some commentary.
Please provide research to support these claims. Links will suffice.
Your personal experience with leftists is entirely irrelevant and unrepresentative of the broader movement.😁

Hey there! I just wanted to share a little bit about my kid. They're left-handed and honestly have an incredible knack for sports. They play handball, but they’ve also picked up medals in swimming, sprinting, and track and field. Seriously, this kid is constantly on the move from sunrise to sunset—it's hard for other kids to even keep up! In school, though, their grades are pretty much just average. I have friends who are lefties and they are insanely creative, but then again, I know some right-handed people who are just as artistic. Maybe there's some actual scientific link between being left-handed and certain traits, but if you ask me, I think everyone just has their own natural gift for something specific, regardless of which hand they write with.🙂

I don't buy the idea that they are more intelligent. I know several liberals, and just one of them could arguably be called smart, though even he isn't anything special. The rest are failures who barely scraped through high school before dropping out of college; you can tell from talking to them that intelligence isn't their strong suit. It seems like liberals become liberals because their brains are wired backward. Essentially, what we consider left-brain functions are right-brain for them, and vice versa.
As for those supposedly highly intelligent liberals, I think it's nothing more than a coincidence.

Well🙂

It really comes down to statistical tendencies. While there is a common perception that lefties lean toward the arts, that doesn't mean they are inherently superior artists or athletes by default. Personally, I find the whole "lefty" thing somewhat uninteresting because I’m constantly surrounded by them—I’m talking seven left-handed people in my immediate circle, no exaggeration 🙂—and only two actually show any musical talent, while their athletic abilities are strictly mediocre. One of them even took an IQ test and scored a 112.

The reason you notice left-handers is simply because they are a minority. Think of it this way: if you look at a group of thirty children and three of them happen to have blue eyes, who catches your attention first? Who stands out? The blue-eyed child. Or, imagine there is one single redhead in that same group of thirty. That redhead is the one who jumps out at you.
One could easily argue that redheaded children are somehow more "exotic" and assign all sorts of mystical traits to them, eventually "domesticating" the concept so that every redhead and every parent of a redhead feels like they possess something extraordinarily special. 🙂 Of course, it is perfectly natural for any parent to believe their child is unique. 🙂

That's not necessarily true. I was talking about things like the language center. In right-handed people, it's always on one specific side. In lefties, it might be on the opposite side, but it doesn't have to be. As far as I know, science hasn't actually settled that debate yet.

Hey everyone, I consider myself one of the leftists. I wouldn't necessarily claim we’re more intelligent, but maybe it's more about being open-minded toward different ideas. One thing I've noticed about people on the left—well, at least among my circle—is that we tend to have several books going at once. Some of us might lean more toward art, music, or film, though I suppose that really just depends on an individual's specific interests. Also, funny enough, whenever I hold a utensil in my right hand, food almost seems to lose its flavor or scent, but that's probably just because our brain centers are located on the opposite side of the right-handed folks...

That doesn't really hold up. Your taste buds and your sense of smell are located in the same area regardless of which hand you use, and those signals travel directly to the brain from there—not from your hands. Plus, if you're using a fork and knife together, you're engaging both sides anyway, whether you're right-handed or left-handed. 😉

Well, since I also happen to be a lefty, I suppose I should weigh in on this thread based on my own lived experience... 😁

- As for perception and memory—I'm inclined to agree (though, unfortunately, that's often a double-edged sword)
- Painting or sculpting? Not a chance; honestly, I couldn't care less about that sort of thing
- Music? Well, I attended a specialized music school in elementary school, but that was about it😁
- Architecture is something I find genuinely fascinating and attractive, though I’d probably attribute that more to hereditary traits than anything else😁
- Hyperactivity? I suppose you could frame it that way, if by "hyperactive" you mean having a hard time ever truly feeling at peace🙂
(I work in IT now, though it isn't my formal degree—I finished a degree at Square Enix, and before that, spent a year studying at MIT after graduating from a top-tier prep school—so, quite a varied path, really 😵 )
- I took an intelligence test a while back and the result was north of 140 (if I recall correctly, maybe 144)

But now we arrive at the real question... how much of any of this actually correlates to being a lefty, or being an INFJ according to the Myers-Briggs, or perhaps some other factor entirely? I'm honestly not sure. 😬

Yeah, true—it’s like every blonde is just inherently less bright than any brunette. Even if they're a fake blonde. I think the brain just knows. Seriously. ☕

We just hold our utensils opposite to our dominant hand. Taste buds stay put where they belong, but the brain is what sends out the impulses; there are actually studies on this stuff...😍

Could you share some links to those studies or explain it a bit more? I'd love to learn about it. Saying "the brain sends its own impulses" doesn't really give me much to go on...

The hand you use to write is really just a matter of habit, nothing more than that... if I truly wanted to, I suppose I could train myself to be left-handed, much like how any lefty could probably learn to use their right.
Though, I have to admit—Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and so many other legendary artists were lefties... yet here I am, a righty, and I still seem to have a knack for art.😍
So, I’m not buying into all those stories about lefties being inherently special; honestly, the only thing that makes you unique is the fact that you're a minority.😛

I don't know what to tell you. I’m just sitting here, staring at this screen, trying to make sense of everything while my coffee goes cold. It feels like we’re all just spinning our wheels in some endless cycle of nonsense. Sometimes I think I spend more time overthinking things than actually doing them. It's a bad habit. A real problem. Anyway, I'll try to get to the point eventually. Just bear with me. The user says:
Here is what I know about them:
A far better perception—at least compared to the crowd we're dealing with today.
Better memory retention.
Acting, music, painting... it all boils down to one thing: art. 😁
Hyperactive. Just restless. Always moving.
Researchers are making some rather bold claims lately. Apparently, according to their latest findings, every single leftist who sat for an IQ test clocked in with a score north of 140. Honestly, I find the whole premise a bit much, though I suppose it fits the current narrative perfectly. It’s all quite absurd, really.

Let's have a little discussion about this.
Let’s be blunt: we all know the deal. The left hemisphere handles the logic and the cold, hard reasoning, while the right side is where all that creative chaos lives. It’s basic stuff.
We don't need rigid rules. Everyone is wired differently, after all. However, it really isn't that difficult to account for those underlying connections that exist between us.🙄

That doesn't really track. I haven't noticed right-handed people losing their sense of smell or taste just because they used their left hand. What impulses are we talking about? 😵 🙂 🤷

I mean, anything is possible. It wouldn't be the first time a study turned up something completely counterintuitive, but I’d love to see the data first. 😁

I know a few lefties, and I guess they all have this thing in common where their artistic talent seems way more developed than the average person's.
