It doesn't have to be... all that matters is that the powers of attorney and the cards are taken. Honestly, even a random passerby could walk off with them if they aren't careful.🙂

But we don't have other clients involved here; that card is strictly for our own firm. Are you telling me someone can just walk out with nothing but the card?

Well, you'll need the card, a signed power of attorney, and—for some reason—they actually asked me for a copy of the director's ID since I'm just an employee rather than an authorized officer, plus a copy of the company's articles of incorporation from the Secretary of State's office. I suppose it might be wise to bring the corporate seal just in case, though I'm not entirely sure why they'd need it. 😉
Of course, you'll also need to make sure the card is properly installed first; there are detailed instructions on the Deloitte installation disc, so it shouldn't be overly complicated.

It probably just comes down to which local Police Department you're dealing with—it’s hit or miss. Just a few days ago, I brought on a new client, and my colleague headed down there with the corporate card and three copies of the power of attorney, and everything went off without a hitch.
Truth be told, when I drafted a power of attorney for my own company, the process was identical to doing one for someone else.
Essentially, the company official—whether it's the CEO or a sole proprietor—is granting authority to an individual (like an employee of their firm or another entity) to handle all the IRS electronic filing services.

If it's just for your own company, there's no need to visit the IRS in person.
You just need to submit an electronic business request through the official portal.
Once you get the confirmation email, you should be good to go...

Raymond Martinez10 said:Believe it or not, I filed an IRS refund claim and it went through without a single follow-up question. I've got another refund coming next month, so I'll let you know how it goes.
For another client, I had a VAT carryover to N/A, and that went through too—though, naturally, they required the Central Hub docs.
In these situations, I’m convinced the "key to success" is just having a good relationship with the clerk.

Like I said—yesterday, the refund hit my account. No extra questions, no formal requests, no bank statements... nothing. 🙄

The clerk involved definitely deserves credit for making that happen...

No—and if I actually went down there to visit this week, it would be a total mess.😉

A classic cheesecake or maybe some Black Forest cake would be very appropriate...😉

Has anyone here actually attempted to file an e-tax ID form when you're looking at a negative income tax calculation from your final paycheck? I just tried to pull it off, but the system won't let me... guess I'm stuck doing things the old-fashioned way with actual paper forms...

I should be dealing with this any day now—I'll let you know once I do.
Since I handle all my payroll through online banking, I kept getting hit with error messages. Turns out, my "brilliant" software was actually generating transfer files with negative balances 🙂

So, I sent over two IDs today with negative tax and surtax amounts—and yep, they went through just fine...

Since you're pulling transfers with a negative balance, maybe the system pulled that negative amount for the II.7 section—you know, the Income Tax and Surtax part—when that should really be sitting at zero...

Could be 👍 I'll double-check that... thanks a lot.

Same thing happened to me. I don't think it was actually about the negative number; honestly, it felt more like the file just corrupted during the transfer process... I went back today, regenerated the XML using the exact same ID form, and it cleared on the first try...

Since we set up and received my FINRA card back in December, I was just wondering when we might realistically expect the first round of bills to arrive?

Is it actually possible that you can't file IP cards through the IRS?

Nah, you definitely can't do them through the IRS website 🙂 gotta head down to the local tax office just like always...

It’s ridiculous. They passed this law mandating online filings, yet they haven't even built the software to actually make it work. My digital ID won't even clear if there's a negative balance on my account, despite having my cards ready. So now, I’m stuck physically driving down to the IRS office just to hand over my requests and vouchers manually.
And what’s the deal with that two-year contract with FINRA?
