Hey... I'm 14, and I know this probably sounds like some typical teenage drama, but honestly, it feels horrific and I’m totally lost on what to do.
Adults always brush this stuff off as nonsense, but when you're 14 and everyone around you has basically turned against you, it sucks—it really does. I'm about to start 8th grade, and during our school trip, one of my "friends" started flirting with this guy she knew I'd had a crush on for ages. I actually talked to her about it—we were honest with each other and thought we'd cleared the air—but then the rest of the girls in my class just went absolutely feral. They started screaming at me, calling me rude and stuck-up, saying they didn't want anything to do with me anymore. It got so bad that they actually burst into my room during the trip and started yelling threats... telling me they'd literally break my neck. I went to my teacher to report it, and we had this big group sit-down, but it was useless—some said they'd make up, while others flat-out refused to even look at me. I feel terrible because of everything they said, and the worst part is that it was the "popular" cliques leading the charge—they've basically turned the entire grade against me, even kids who weren't even involved in the fight. Now, I don't have a single friend left in that class, which is just devastating. My parents are amazing and support me, but that doesn't make it any easier when I walk into school and have to watch people gossip about me right to my face or roll their eyes every time I open my mouth. I know I should be grateful for my parents, my straight A's, and being healthy, but I still feel so pathetic knowing that nobody in my grade wants me around or respects me. And get this—I was literally tutoring those same people in Chemistry and Math just so they wouldn't fail the grade! Please, if anyone has even a shred of comfort or advice, let me know... I'm feeling so depressed that I genuinely dread going back to school this fall.

Honestly, the first thing that pops into my head—and I’m not just trying to give you those generic, sugary sweet words of comfort that everyone else is probably going to bark at you with—is that people just don't think about you as much as you imagine they do... they'll likely forget all of this by the time summer rolls around, and even by fall... and you'll find your way back to a more normal middle ground before you know it.

I find myself in complete agreement with the points made above; when those same classmates inevitably show up at your door around October begging for some kind of academic lifeline, just offer them a polite smile and a friendly nod. Their current behavior speaks volumes about their own lack of character and work ethic, and frankly, it says everything anyone needs to know about them. I’ve always been a firm believer in the idea that karma eventually settles all debts, so they'll get what's coming to them in due time. If nothing else, you can take solace in the fact that you won't have to endure their presence next year—unless, of course, you're all stuck attending the same high school together, which would be a bit of a tragedy.

Best of luck, and hang in there.😉

Look, what I’m saying comes from my own experience... I was just trying to be helpful, honestly, but I ended up making a massive mess of things. Half my class was basically threatening me with death or a beatdown and all that... xD. But then, after maybe three periods of school, nobody even remembered it happened, let alone a week or a month later...

And regarding that guy you mentioned—since you didn't go into detail, I'm not entirely sure—but I don't think being a straight-A student is actually why people "don't like" you before they start despising you. It sounds like typical high school jealousy. They're just waiting for any little excuse to turn on you... but still, I say just wait until school starts again. If you really see that things aren't improving at all by then, then maybe reach out...

I can't believe I'm even seeing this again—it's like some people just refuse to learn from history... seriously. Every single time this topic comes up, we get the same tired arguments and the same lack of common sense. It’s exhausting, honestly. You’d think after everything we've been through, we could have a rational conversation about this without someone losing their mind over nothing—but no. Just when you think we've moved past this kind of nonsense, here we go again... turns out some things never change. kaže:
Look, everything I’m saying comes from my own damn experience—and honestly, I was just trying to help everyone out, but I ended up making a massive mess of things. It was a total disaster. Half the class was literally threatening me with death and beatings... lol. But you know how it goes—after like three periods of school, nobody even cared anymore, let alone a week or a month later...

And regarding that whole situation with your boyfriend—since you aren't exactly giving me all the juicy details—I’m not convinced that being a straight-A student is actually why everyone "dislikes" you... I mean, people don't just hate you out of nowhere, they wait until they have an excuse to actually despise you. It's just classic, petty high school jealousy—everyone is just sitting there, waiting for a single trigger so they can justify their attitude toward you. But honestly? My advice remains the same—just hold out until the school year wraps up. If you see absolutely zero improvement by then, then you can decide your next move...

So, about this whole boyfriend situation—I’m not even sure if it’s worth bringing up, but honestly, everything just started spiraling after this. And let me be clear, it didn’t start *because* of him—it’s just that those girls have been constantly belittling me and looking down on me for a long time now. I’ve just been sitting there and taking it until now... But what I truly don't get is why they feel the need to stick their noses in. If the two of us—me and the girl I was talking to about him—already sorted things out and realized he isn't even worth the breath, then what exactly is their problem? Like, why do they even care...

It’s obvious they’re just pathologically jealous.
You should actually take it as a compliment. First off, you aren't dealing with those same deep-seated insecurities—assuming you aren't one of them—and second, it’s just proof of your actual worth.
Make them even more miserable by staying ahead.😉

Honestly, those girls are probably just acting out of pure jealousy; they were practically itching for an excuse to pick on you.

I have a feeling their attitude might shift once the fall semester rolls around, but in the meantime, just focus on hanging out with your friends from other grades over the summer break. Plus, you’ve only got one more year left before you move on, and then they can go find someone else to target.

I'm sure you have plenty of people to hang out with from your neighborhood or your extracurricular activities, and you'll likely meet even more people before school starts back up.

Don't let their drama get under your skin—just stay true to yourself and stop worrying about how little they actually know. You surely realize that getting good grades is what really matters from eighth grade, whereas the way these girls behave is something you'll forget in no time.

If people start making threats like that, you gotta defend yourself.☕ Just some totally entitled, spoiled brats.

Has this been going on for a while now, or did it just start cropping up during the field trip? I mean, both the threats themselves and how they’ve been making you feel...

Trust me, everyone your age feels exactly the same way! You just can't see it because everyone stays home and you guys aren't even hanging out together, right??

Also, what exactly do you mean by teenage drama?

What kind of "sucks" are we talking about here? Give me some details,

how would you want it to feel instead?

It can be pretty obnoxious when those "popular" girls start targeting you—but honestly, they aren’t perfect either. Most of them are just more insecure and pathetic than anyone else... I'm hoping things settle down by the fall. If they don't, just tell them straight up that their opinion doesn't matter since you already handled the actual issue with the person involved. Why are they even sticking their noses where they don't belong? Just a bunch of clueless cliques... and don't bother giving them free advice. They haven't earned it. 😉>

Look, I’m an adult, and honestly, I don't find this kind of thing funny at all. It’s straight-up workplace harassment. Trying to make a living in this country is hard enough without people pulling these kinds of stunts.😢

Every new generation seems to be getting more mindless—it's exhausting. I'm certain most of them don't even hate you; they're just following the popular kids. They haven't even formed their own personalities yet, but that isn't an excuse. And it's always the good ones who get hit the hardest. 👎 Just yesterday, I saw some idiot assault a kid who was genuinely one of the nicest guys around, but that's a different story. I'll keep my fingers crossed that this year passes quickly so you can leave those people behind. Personally, I don't stay in touch with a single soul from middle school.

Don't let a bunch of idiots who aren't even on your level ruin your life. Like the song says, "I walk through the city armed with nothing but a smile."

I'm with you on that... something definitely needs to change.
I went through something similar back when I was in high school. I didn't speak up then, and honestly? It left me pretty messed up mentally. It’s not too late for her to take action, but she really needs to do something soon...

If there’s no help available right now, then I suppose you just have to grit your teeth and try to make it through this next year. Once you hit high school, you’ll meet a whole new crowd, and things will start looking up, I promise.😉
Oh, sure, if you say so. Everything feels ten times heavier when you're only fourteen.

Honestly, my high school experience was even more brutal. It was easily the worst class I’ve ever been in. The constant bullying among everyone... it was just awful.

I feel you.
It might not be the case for everyone, but if you aren't mentally tough—or if you don't set some boundaries right on day one—high school just gets progressively more brutal.
In my opinion, just sitting around waiting for another year to pass isn't going to lead to anything good...

Middle school was a nightmare for me, yet high school turned out fine—and I didn't go in acting tough or anything. I wasn't exactly mentally bulletproof either; I just acted normally and ran into the same types of people. Once, some kids tried to mess with me, but I snapped immediately like a total maniac—though, looking back, it was mostly a bluff.
