Honestly, I couldn't care less about any of this... my only priority right now is locating your most recent post π

Better the chat than Rikers Island

All this chatterβdoes it mean the TSIs are officially wrapped up, or are we still stuck waiting on paperwork from the clients at Bloomberg π

Weβre way too small-time for an academy like that.π
Honestly, we're pretty naive... still thinking we actually have to follow "articles and clauses." π

I'm getting the TSI started π’
I don't have the full stack of paperwork yet, but I'm moving forward with whatβs on my desk. No point in waiting around for π

I have to handle everything from production through to distribution..
I'll be able to get the TSI to you in two days next week.

Pro tip: before you go standing in a massive line, file a request so the registry can prepare your paperwork in "just" a few days.
Iβm moving this postβlink right hereβso I don't clog up the main thread, but it honestly eats at me how superficial our government is when it comes to implementation.
- The mandatory re-registration process and the way they handle itβexpensive and totally outdated.
- The IRS portalβlooks great on paper because you aren't wasting time in lines, sure, but the second you need to submit an IDD, the whole thing falls apart. It isn't available digitally, just like how the IP wasn't (fine, that was temporary).
- The digital Social Security interfaceβgreat, until you get an Error 88 correction; then you're stuck driving down to a local branch in person.
- The digital Treasury system for submitting TSI and GFβeven better, except if you happen to be a sole proprietor and hit an error, you're back to traveling to an office again.
The common denominator here? This service comes with a fee, even though it actually reduces the workload for those agency employees. It would be more logical to incentivize users who use the digital tools rather than penalizing them.

Theyβre doing all this just to get under our skin and empty our pockets. Mark my words, itβs not even strictly about the money; they actually seem to get a kick out of driving us crazy. Itβs like their own little hobby. π€£
I can tell, Raymond Martinez10, you've definitely got what it takes to be a moderator. π

Hey π
I have two questions regarding my Public Finance course π
Hereβs what I need:
1.) What was the local surcharge rate for Pittsburgh back in 2010?
2.) What was the tax-free daily per diem for a business trip to Istanbul in 2010?
I tried calling both the Pittsburgh and the NYC tax offices, but nobody's picking up.
Thanks for the help π

How do you actually say "corporation" versus "sole proprietorship" in English? I tried using "Trade" and "LTD" instead of LLC, but I don't think people really understood what I meant.
Does anyone happen to know? :/

Thanks... I'll try Googling it; that's how I found out about Inc... but I also need to include a term for a small business... though "enterprise" or "corporation" sounds much more significant than just a small business setup. :/
Finding the right word for a small business is pretty important to me. I tried using EUdict, and it suggested Trade. But I'm not entirely sure about that one. If anyone could confirm, I'd really appreciate it.

Maybe try "craft"...
I mean, if weβre defining a trade as something involving manual skill or hands-on work, then "craft" actually fits pretty well...
And I'm sure some English professor is going to jump in here to correct me... π
Anyway... I just looked up the official English name for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce:
U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Crafts

Maybe this isn't quite the right spot for this topicβhoping the admins can move it if it's out of place.
So, hereβs the situation: every accounting firm Iβve reached out to is asking for an absolute fortune, and frankly, I just can't swing it. I'm seriously considering shutting down my small business, though I'd hate to. Last year was a washβpersonal issues outside of work meant my revenue was basically non-existent. I had an accountant at first, but given how little business I was actually doing, I decided to try handling the books myself to save money. It hasn't exactly been a game-changer.
Does anyone know of a service that scales their fees based on transaction volume or total invoice amounts? This is more of a hobby for me, and once I pay the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and various taxes, thereβs nothing left over.

Is it just me, or has the coffee break become a thing of the past? It seems like everyone is just powering through their shifts now...π
