Of course, exceptions just prove the rule.
It doesn't matterβ€”I wouldn't mind visiting this place by myself... though I'd definitely prefer being there with you......

Thanks. Honestly, a real cup of coffee sounds amazing right about nowβ€”not this digital stuff, but the actual kind. πŸ˜‰

Should I give you my address so you can have one delivered? You know damn well I could make that happenβ€”and I'm sure you wouldn't mind being taken care of in a reasonably short amount of time...

Meanwhile, I've been basically living on tea for days now to try and fight this bug

Well, it probably isn't just the flu :zabrinut:

Nah, no... if that's the case, then it's nothing but tea, honey, and more honey for me... 😍

No rest for the weary while this reconstruction drags on... except it feels like we're never actually getting to the finish line. πŸ˜‰

Work is supposed to be the salvation... just the one thing that pulls us through... but it feels like it’s perpetually out of reach...

Onward, I suppose...

I don't touch coffee, yet I still feel like I’ve been run over by a freight train. What liquid gold should I be sipping instead? Maybe some Earl Grey or something? 😁

Hey everyone. I was hoping someone could help me out with a quick question.

I need to settle up using one of those standard paper payment slipsβ€”you know, the kind where you fill in the sender, the recipient, account number, and all that stuff... basically the ones where you tear off the right side after you're done.

The money is going toward the City of Chicago municipal budget.

What I'm wondering is, how does the city actually verify if I paid too little or maybe even overpaid? Do they actually sit there and double-check the specific amounts, or do they just look at the account number and check if the cash hit the system by the deadline?

That’s a pretty vague question to ask.πŸ™‚ It really depends on what exactly you're paying for and what the underlying invoice looks like. If there's an outstanding balance, they're definitely going to look at the numbers...

Honestly, I don't get people who skip coffee. I’d be a total wreck without my morning cup. 🀷

Listen, big shot, they definitely audit and log every single payment. Every transaction and overpayment is right there on their radar. πŸ˜‰

I'm probably gonna end up paying a fine to one of those local code enforcement officersπŸ™‚
so I was just wondering how things actually work over at their "headquarters"...
like, do actual people even look at these payments? Is it just some automated system crunching numbers, checking if the confirmation number matches the receipt, or does someone actually verify the dollar amount too? And what kind of logic do they use to pick which cases get escalated to small claims court when someone misses a payment...

hey lili, quick question... do you think these folks at the DMV actually know how much I need to pay for this ticket? Like, specifically regarding that "notice number" thing they listed on the citation?

If you decide to underpay, you’re basically just leaving an open tab on your account. Their system will flag that outstanding balance the second they run their first collection report, so there’s really no escaping it. You can expect another stern notice in the mail, and if you keep ignoring them, they might even escalate it to a collections agency or legal action...

On the flip side, if you overpay, you’ll end up with a credit on your account. The problem is, they tend to act completely indifferent toward those credits, essentially ignoring the surplus as if it doesn't existβ€”at least until you realize what happened and have to go through the headache of requesting a refund yourself...

πŸ‘‹ Anyone finished their coffee yet? I’m still nursing mine from 7 AM. Just doing a little work mixed with some mindless scrolling here β˜•
So, do you guys actually have a plan for today, or are you just waiting for things to happen to you? Honestly, when I woke up this morning, I genuinely thought it was Friday. πŸ˜‚ What a letdown. 😲
