Man, what are you doing up this early?🤷
That’s just how it goes once you aren't in your prime anymore—you end up wandering around late at night and waking up at the crack of dawn.
Thanks mellowfox56, Raymond Martinez10, and lili for the warm welcome.🙂You guys are honestly the best.
Gosh, I don't even know where to start or which thread to jump into; you guys have a little bit of everything going on here.😕
Hey, could someone take a look at my question regarding my tax return and let me know what you think?
I just want to make sure my math is right.
Anyway, I'm just finishing up some overdue stats work. Honestly, the guy isn't sweating the fact that the deadline passed, so why should I?
Here's a little morning update for you all.☕
Morning!

Greetings, mellowfox56. A warm welcome to you as well. I have been closely following your advice even before deciding to join this forum myself. It is truly a relief to see you back in action...

I suppose I should finally join in on the welcome wagon... 👋

I tend to spend more time lurking and reading than actually contributing anything meaningful to the conversation, if I'm being honest...

Greetings to everyone...

Let her melt; after all the time she's spent wading through our endless nonsense, she's certainly earned a little breakdown.😍

I'm done talking about it. I'm just bitter because she walked out on me 🙂

Michelle Obama, don't you ever 🙂

Oh, come on, we all know you aren't being serious; it’s just that classic friendly friction that clears up before the coffee even gets cold 🙂😉

No, seriously, Lili actually means it, I know her style.
I mean, she can be a bit of a tough moderator (poor Dubo, he’s basically one step away from a red card, haha)
Just kidding! Honestly, this coffee is amazing—at least for a "forum newbie" like me, I definitely need this kind of vibe right now.
If my buddy Dubo keeps talking like that, I’m actually going to start believing him.
Oh my gosh, you guys have no idea how much your welcome warmed my heart.
It’s like... imagine you’re starving, just famished, and you run into a friend who says, "Hey, come over, my mom made an incredible feast."😛 We're talking layers of ham and cheese, hot soup, slow-roasted pork chops with potatoes, any salad you want, and then finishing off with chocolate lava cakes... yum.
Now, I shouldn't even talk about stuff like that, but I live for good food. I'm a total foodie through and through, even if I don't look it.😂
And hey, Dubo, I might have to give you a new nickname—D.D.—but I won't tell you what it stands for unless we talk privately (or via a couple of emails). Though, if you want, I could spill the tea to the whole group here, sort of like that old "grandma" joke.
I think I'll hang out with you all over virtual coffee for a bit while I browse through everything. I want to get a feel for the history here and figure out where to jump in without stepping on any toes—I really don't need any drama.
Anyway, I'm going to pop into one thread for a second, but I won't stay long.
Sending big hugs to everyone! I'm happy to be here. Wish me luck for tomorrow and Wednesday—I've got a doctor's appointment.🙂
Peace out!

Hope the appointment goes smoothly and everything turns out okay.

And hey, don't call me an old timer just yet—I'm also a proud grandpa, though I guess you might be a few steps ahead of me in the "senior" department... But my daughter is working hard on keeping me young so I can catch up!

Hey, where have you been hiding?

You know we need to touch base more often—it shouldn't be a surprise to "bump into" you here like this...

Well, I'm just chilling at home, as they’d say back in the Midwest.
Hopefully, I can at least join in on this coffee chat, even if I don't jump into other topics as much.
And wait, have I just missed you hanging around the forum lately, or am I totally tripping?
Is it freezing where you guys are? Here in New York City, the sun is out, but there's a serious bite in the air—honestly, I can't even bring myself to stick my head out the door.🙂Hopefully we'll be chatting more often than we have been.

I’m sitting here staring out the window at this gorgeous, biting sunlight streaming in. 😁
I actually ventured out for a walk a little while ago, nursing the optimistic hope that I might find somewhere cozy to grab a coffee out of the wind, but I ended up retreating back inside after barely thirty minutes; honestly, there is nowhere quite as inviting as being tucked away at home in the warmth. 🤣

How about you?

Honestly, I’m just bored out of my mind. I actually feel a little guilty for sitting through Laren’s selection last night since they’re re-running it today anyway. I decided to take another day off for myself—I've got plenty of food and treats on hand, so I’ll officially start budgeting again tomorrow. This is hands down the worst time of year for me, but honestly, getting sick actually helped me scale back, and I’m not even mad about it.
It’s true there's less cash flowing in, but you eventually learn how to stretch what you've got to make sure you're covered.

It's true, health is more important than anything else, though most of us only seem to realize that once we're actually feeling under the weather...

We’re all stuck in this same slump; even the busy restaurant season feels easier to handle than this particular stretch of the year...
and of course, they just had to mess with the federal tax codes right at this moment... absolute disaster...
