Carol Price4 said:Jessica Grant56, here’s the breakdown in plain English:

1) You can clock in for anywhere from 1 to 4 hours a day—whatever works for you.

2) Here’s how the minimum pay scales out— $503 gross1 (which is half the $3,017 minimum if you're doing 4 hours a day)...$251 if you go with 2 hours...$126 or if it's just 1 hour...

3) Taxes and contributions—they're handled just like any other employee's.

4) Income tax—it's calculated based on the base amount (gross1 minus 20% for social security) after taking your standard deduction into account $0.00 !

So, am I really going to pin all of this on Linić just because I decided to retire early? I’m not quite old enough for that—and I’m definitely not crazy yet, though... well, you know how it goes—and honestly, I have no clue what to do next. What am I supposed to do, forge my birth certificate? It feels like these people are so corrupt; they give you a little bit here, then come back and take everything there. Who exactly is benefiting from this when they're already sixty-seven? That’s probably why they let it happen in the first place. It’s just disgusting to see these unscrupulous, high-paid government bureaucrats pulling moves like this. Honestly, at this point, I might as well start stealing. Better late than never, right?

Go ahead and preach if you want, but when the government keeps making such nonsensical decisions, it feels like they’re practically nudging people toward those "U.S. Chamber of Commerce" style shortcuts just to survive. It’s pretty obvious to me that the bureaucrats sitting on $200,000 salaries can't begin to fathom what it's like to scrape by on $35,000—but honestly, I've had it up to here with these "geniuses" passing such idiotic laws. Sure, maybe someone can work a bit longer now, but what happens when they hit 65, or even 67? I almost wish *they* were the ones forced to stay on the job until they're 67!

And since the prisons are already overflowing anyway—and let's face it, once you're in, the food and a bed are provided regardless—I’m starting to think there might be some logic in taking those "U.S. Chamber of Commerce" risks just to actually enjoy life before you get caught, or before you have to seek forgiveness... It’s a sad thing to have to shift your entire worldview at this stage of life, but in this beautiful, wonderful, totally looted country we live in, you feel like you just have to adapt. All I really want is to work hard, pay my massive taxes and fees, and just have some peace... but apparently, they won't let me.

Goodness, there are quite a few night owls lurking around here tonight......🤣

It is hardly surprising that coffee becomes a constant companion at this hour.

Perhaps we should grab a cup together...... though a pastry would be a welcome addition as well.🙂

Listen, ladies, just as a precaution—maybe take a quick look at your measurements, specifically around the hips and..., well, you know what I mean—and then MAYBE you can think about diving into those cookies and sweets. But honestly, looking at everyone I've seen around here lately, I feel like I should give you a heads-up that those numbers might have crept up a little. So, please, be careful with what you're doing on this forum. It’s not like it's Christmas every single day!!

Seriously, what is even happening here?
I am losing my freaking mind.
I click, I submit, I try everything in my power,
but this damn Java keeps glitching out on me.

My nerves are absolutely shot at this point.
I’m yelling, I’m swearing—I just can't deal.
On top of all the new updates they dumped on us this summer,
now I’ve got to wrestle with Intrastat too.

Everything is hitting me at once and driving me insane.
It feels like a total death trap,
just one massive pile of garbage after another.
But honestly? The thing that's really getting under my skin is Joe.

Kudos to them... !!!!
Good grief, I’m starting to feel the panic myself...
which is precisely why I handed off all the Intrastat responsibilities to my freight forwarder 🤣

Hey everyone,
I'm a beginner and I've run into a bit of a snag with recording exchange rate gains and losses. It's not that I don't know how to enter them, it's more that I haven't been doing it all year, even though I've had monthly USD payments coming in from outgoing invoices. Can I just catch up and record everything now? Since I need to close out the fiscal year, I'd appreciate your take on the best way to handle this. Also, could someone clarify one thing: when I receive a foreign currency payment, I use the Federal Reserve rate for that day, which creates the exchange differences based on the invoice amount. But here's my question: when we actually exchange the currency, the bank credits our USD account using their own selling rate. When I'm looking at the bank statement, should I still be using the Federal Reserve rate? My accounting software keeps asking for a specific rate (popcorn).
Thanks for the help,

🙂

Yes, you can retroactively record all of that now, but ensure your accounting periods align correctly; for instance, make sure any differences from May are assigned to a specific May ledger...

When I receive a wire transfer, I record it using my bank's specific rate (they usually include the conversion details in the transaction description), and I follow the same logic for currency exchanges.
I calculate foreign vendor accounts using the rates from JCPenney.
At the end of the period, everything is reconciled and exchange differences are calculated. Any remaining balance on an account (such as an unpaid amount) sitting there on December 31st must be adjusted according to the Federal Reserve.

Honestly, whenever I scroll through these menus of yours... man, it makes me want to dive right in. I actually have one of those stability balls in my office for Pilates, and you wouldn't believe the looks I get from clients. Every time someone walks in and sees me sitting on it, they give me this little smirk, thinking, "Wow, look at her, she’s probably just eating and lounging all day." They assume I'm just sitting here snacking or smoking in the heat while my cellulite settles in! Then I pick up the phone to take a call, and I feel like I'm staring down a heart attack or a stroke waiting to happen. At least if I were full of good kebabs, I'd have some fuel to work with! That’s why I’m totally on board with this whole show business idea. I even have a vision for it—just a bit of initial investment needed. But first, I really need to figure out how to structure everything so I can eventually hand the reins over to someone else to run, then just collect the returns. Haha.☕🙂
