I honestly don't even know why I'm starting this thread. It won't change anything... but I just need somewhere to vent. 😢

She left me for someone else. I've never loved anyone the way I loved her. It felt like we were meant to be... she was my first thought every morning and my last thought every night. She was basically my entire reason for being. 😢 Since I struggle with depression, I've lost all hope of ever being loved or living a normal life like everyone else. I have no friends left... no will to keep going.

Of course, everyone gets heartbroken after a breakup, but this keeps happening to me. I'm starting to wonder why I'm even here when I feel like a total failure. Nothing ever goes right, and everyone I care about eventually turns their back on me 😢 How do you find real love or actual friends????

Please, if anyone has any advice or just wants to comment... things are getting so dark that I've had thoughts of ending it all. I don't want to do that, though... not because of myself, but because of my parents and my family. 😢

Right, I also forgot to mention that even the antidepressants I was prescribed aren't doing anything at all... I feel like I might actually lose my mind😢

Look, just try to move on, and maybe out of pure spite, decide you’re done chasing relationships entirely—or at least find someone who actually knows your worth.
Honestly, I feel like I'm losing my mind too; every day feels like a broken record where nothing changes, and I’ve spent my whole life without a girlfriend or even a decent social circle. I’m pretty much a hermit, barely stepping foot outside once every couple of weeks, all while battling OCD, severe psychosis, and schizophrenia. It turns into this daily cycle of fighting with my parents until things escalate to the point where I’m thinking about ending it all—not them, obviously, but myself—because that's just how heavy things get. Imagine if you were carrying all that on top of what you're already dealing with.
So, give it a shot; there are plenty of other fish in the sea, and some are definitely better than what you left behind.

Good luck with everything! 🙂

Maybe try finding something fun to distract yourself from those heavy thoughts.

I mean, hitting the bars and having a wild night out definitely works for some people, but if that's just not your scene, maybe try picking up a hobby? Something hands-on might help you meet some new folks.

Things will get better, I really think so. Life is always worth living... I guess. Just look at how beautiful this world can be, and honestly, it’s kind of up to you how you choose to see it.

I’m running into the exact same issue—only my frustration levels are through the roof right now, and honestly, I feel like I'm about to snap at someone. 😠
Honestly, I feel like I’ve reached my absolute limit—it's as if I’m being cast as the villain in everyone's story lately, regardless of what I actually do! It feels like no matter how much I try to contribute positively, I somehow end up being blamed for everything or labeled as the "negative one"—which, if we're being perfectly honest, just isn't the case at all...

Honestly, I think the biggest screw-up is that you turned this girl into some kind of deity. You’re out here praying to her in the morning and then giving her your nightly prayers before bed like she's some divine being. Look, when you're with someone, you've gotta hold onto them like they could vanish at any second, but at the same time, you have to love them way more than they could ever love you!

Trust me, there are way better women out there for you. You're young, you're good-looking, you've got plenty of life left in you—you just need to let some time pass so you can finally get her out of your head.

Believe me! It’s all gonna work out!+

Here’s why:
Look, you have the entire world laid out in front of you. You've got every possible chance to move past this and eventually meet someone who actually carries more weight in your life than she ever did.
You’ve tasted real pain. That’s just how it works—it's all part of the school of hard knocks.
We’re currently looking out for a 24-year-old guy who’s fighting a losing battle against cancer. It’s brutal—they already had to amputate his leg, but the disease has spread everywhere, and there’s really no coming back from this. He looks like a walking skeleton, yet somehow, his eyes are still absolutely brimming with life. He lost both of his parents during the war, leaving him with nothing but his sister to lean on. Honestly, he’s probably the happiest man on the planet right now just because we managed to bypass all the red tape and get him the oxygen he needs after some bureaucratic nightmare denied his request. He isn't suffocating anymore, so he's happy. He’s only 24, hasn't truly tasted life yet, and he just wants a chance to live.
Just give thanks to God that you're healthy and still have your whole life ahead of you. Everything happens for a reason—if that girl was truly meant to be yours, you two would still be together.
Life is unpredictable, and you can find yourself staring down a massive pivot point in the blink of an eye.
Everything is going to work out. You just need to give yourself some breathing room and start living every single day like it’s your last. Get out of the house, get active, find a volunteer gig, or lend a hand to someone who’s struggling more than you are. Maybe even sign up for a class. It’s all about getting back out there—that’s how you meet new people who might actually become real friends.
You have total freedom to do whatever you want. Don't just sit there—actually make something of it!

If everyone possessed the strength of that young man, or if everyone received as much support for life as you are providing... no one would ever ask themselves "how to go on." We are all prone to despair, but the truth is that every hardship encountered on life's path is merely a challenge to overcome so that one may proceed even stronger...

There is always love to be found—my father used to say that quite often. But health? It is worth fighting for, though when it comes to one's own self, I believe in protecting my own wellbeing rather than lamenting over someone who clearly did not value me.

Look, honey, the thing is, we all have that strength tucked away inside us. The issue is simply that we refuse to embrace anything different or unconventional.
That power is truly within us; we're born with it. I've proven that to myself more times than I can count. Take yourself, for example—if someone had sat you down a few years ago and laid out everything you were about to endure, telling you that you’d handle it with grace and fight through it, what would your honest reaction be? I asked myself that exact question once, and my answer was: "Me? No freaking way! I'd rather die than go through that." And then what happened? What actually happened was that after six months of pure desperation and rejection—after hitting rock bottom—I finally accepted it, faced it head-on, and survived without losing my mind, which is the most important part. Sure, I still feel the fallout; my heart and soul ache when I look back, but I'm alive and I'm moving forward. I can see "better" on the horizon... it just takes time to let the pieces fall into place.

When Queen Victoria was born, her father, Edward August—who was desperately hoping for a son so he could secure the succession to the throne—remarked:
"Sometimes the paths of God's providence are the best...", and history eventually proved just how much Victoria achieved.

Reading this thread, I was reminded of a song by a well-known local group, the Rijeka-Kastav vocal instrumental ensemble "shell."

The lyrics go something like this:

Kill yourself, kill them all
why bother living without her.
Poison yourself, hang yourself
since you can see everything is ruined.
She’s sleeping with someone richer than you
and while she’s with him, it just creates this ache in your soul.
How can that pain ever pass?
Just cut it off and take some pills.

Not bad 😂
But the logic in those lyrics is totally tripping me up. First he says to kill himself, then he says to kill everyone else.😕 How can you kill the rich guy if you're already dead? And then there's that part about cutting it off yourself—how do you do that when you're already a corpse? 👍

A good buzz fixes everything. Trust me, I know.👍

"Just take your time and live every single day to the fullest, like it's your last."
But honestly, what's the point? In a hundred years, nobody is even going to remember we were here—it'll be like we never existed. I still kind of feel like this whole thing is just one big joke. Humans aren't eternal; we don't get to wake up, work, talk, and rest forever. We’re all just passing through before we die, and because of that, there are plenty of days where I just... can't bring myself to do anything. What's the purpose,
Most people seem to be racing against the clock to experience everything while they're young, but that's just not me. I'm more of a homebody, I guess—a bit stuck in my ways—and the years just keep ticking by regardless.

I know if everyone thought this way, we'd all end up in a pretty dark place, but I mean, what can you really accomplish in a single day? Especially when you're feeling down—which, let's be honest, is basically my everyday reality... so, very little,

Look, it’s not the end of the world. My grandmother used to say that you shouldn't assume every setback is a permanent loss; you never know what you might have dodged. You're young, healthy, and you've got your whole life ahead of you. Just open your front door, get out of the house, and hang out with your friends. And for heaven's sake, don't rush straight into a rebound. That’s just looking for a distraction, not actual love. Who knows? Maybe the real thing is closer than you think.
You'll need some time to heal. Trust me, there is light at the end of the tunnel...😉

Humans aren't immortal; we don't get an infinite loop of rising, working, talking, and resting before eventually checking out. We’re just passing through. That’s why half the time I can't find the motivation to do anything,
while most people are sprinting through life trying to squeeze every drop out of their youth. I'm just not built that way—I'm stuck in my ways, and the years are just slipping by.

I know if everyone thought like this, the world would basically collapse, but honestly, what can a person actually accomplish in a single day, especially when you're feeling low? And for me, that's pretty much a daily occurrence... so, very little.

That's exactly why you need to make the most of being here right now. Since you won't be around in a century, you have to seize your moment in the sun.
Life only holds the meaning you decide to give it.
You have the chance to build something meaningful and die feeling satisfied.
It's either that, or live a miserable existence only to die the same way... I don't know, but the first option sounds a lot more appealing to me.
And who says you have to sprint or fit into some specific mold? Spice up your life however you see fit. That's the whole beauty of existing.

Honestly, I don't really have any advice to offer you, I guess. I mean, I’ve had a few girlfriends walk away from me once they realized I wasn't quite as charming or impressive in person as I seemed when they were first looking at me through rose-colored glasses. I’ve kind of gotten used to it, actually—it almost surprises me if someone doesn't leave me pretty quickly, though I usually end up getting dumped eventually once they realize I'm just sitting there surprised that they haven't left yet.

Your girlfriend shouldn't be your entire reason for living. That’s exactly why she left you. You need to find more purpose in life than just one person.
