Ollie, why didn't you just call someone higher up her chain of command??? I’m completely unapologetic when dealing with government bureaucrats; I know my rights. I make sure to get all my facts straight first, and then I let them have it when they try to give me the runaround, bouncing me from one desk to another... not to mention how incredibly awkward that whole situation gets...

Down at the main street in Chicago... every third vendor is shouting about discounts for pregnant women—they'll give them a deal, then toss in some extra treats for the duo, too.

So why don't I ever get the biggest croissant? That’s what I actually want... Every single time I walk into the bakery to ask for an apple turnover, they tell me they're out. Usually, they're out of croissants, too... yet when I send my husband, he comes back with both the turnover AND the croissant.

Because I started tearing up right then and there, and I wasn't about to give her the satisfaction of seeing it.

Ugh, well at least your guy knows how to shop. I'll send mine out for cherry pie, and he brings back some dry-as-hell pastry with cherries that look like scabs, gross. And obviously, I ended up getting mad and crying over it, which is just one more thing that's driving me nuts during this pregnancy—just crying at everything. 🙂I guess my man needs God to help him deal with me.

I mean, come on, you could have at least given her a little smack with those things. Like, "sorry, my hands are shaking because I'm pregnant"...
@rustyrider20: why are you feeling bad for me? I'm practically begging for scraps at the playground every other day just to get anything, whereas you probably look all sweet and charming while I just look like a massive pregnant woman

I regret that I didn't.

And when I'm feeling this weak, everything is a struggle—first I have to haul myself to the subway, then catch the bus, then trek uphill from the stop to my house... I can manage 4 pounds, but anything over that and I'm done. Add this heatwave to the mix? Forget it. It used to be that people would actually take pity on me and hand me something extra just to help me put some weight on.

Frank Morales6 said:I had such a horrible experience that I spent almost the entire day in tears.
I went down to the DMV 12 miles out in the heat, with temperatures climbing north of 90 degrees, just to deregister my car. The woman behind the counter flat-out refused to take my license plates because she claimed they looked dusty, essentially telling me to get lost and go home to wash them first.
To make matters worse, she started making snide comments, acting like I thought being pregnant entitled me to some kind of special treatment.
She even implied she didn't want to touch the plates because she was afraid of catching some kind of disease from them.
Obviously, I wasn't about to turn around and head home, so I told her I’d just wipe them down with a wet wipe if she really thought they were that dirty—they weren't, honestly, my husband had just cleaned them.
Then she threatened to call her colleagues over unless I stepped outside immediately.
So, I walked out, wiped them down, and suddenly they were "clean enough" for her.
Honestly, part of me regrets not letting her call those colleagues, because since it was just the two of us, how could I ever prove what she said to me?
The main reason I actually stepped outside was because I felt the tears starting to well up, and I refused to give her—or anyone else there—the satisfaction of seeing me break down.
But it doesn't matter; I'm waiting for my chance, and I won't forget her face.
What irritated me most was finding out later that she actually has two kids of her own.
It just goes to show you what kind of women we can be.

Too bad you didn't call her manager...

I've noticed that whenever I board a subway car, everyone moves away from me—like they're trying to make sure they don't accidentally bump into me, you know how people get when they're shoving around.
I don't mind it, I just wonder if I'm really that huge or something.😁

A cashier at Publix put all my items in the cart for me—I honestly couldn't believe it.

Honestly, there’s one more thing that drives me absolutely crazy... my husband. The second he realizes I’m actually bothered by something, he decides it's the perfect time to just push all my buttons. I actually ended up breaking down in tears right in the middle of a Target aisle because of his obsession with buying sneakers. He’s impossible—this pair isn't quite right, that pair is too much, he finds some tiny flaw in every single shoe. And there I was, feeling completely miserable, dealing with some stomach issues and feeling overheated, just wanting to get home, but he wouldn't budge... he kept insisting we look at more. Then, he finally tries on a pair that looks great, says they feel amazing and fit perfectly, but then follows it up with, "they look kind of cheap." Like, how on earth can his Reeboks look "cheap"??? That was the breaking point for me. I grabbed my box of Adidas and stormed out of the store. It’s infuriating how easily he can throw me off balance... and then he has the nerve to ask why I'm crying!! It's because he knows exactly how to wind me up, especially when my hormones are already making everything ten times harder!

Honestly, man—nobody gives me anything special either. As for discounts? Forget about it. Not even a dream.
Though, I have to say, when I was visiting family out in the Midwest a few days ago, almost every elderly lady at the local market would tuck an extra little something into my bag.😍😍😍

Just send him shopping alone... see how fast he grabs the first pair of kicks he sees in the very first store. Usually, when he travels to Chicago for work, he just picks something up there. Personally, I much prefer shopping solo—no one rushing you, no drama, just peace.

And what's even crazier is that there's nothing to even see yet, and most women don't even mention anything during this phase. But whatever, news travels fast in small towns. And anyone who sees me out on the street based on our conversations just stares at my gut.
They're probably just checking to see if anything is popping out yet.
😠

Also, my dad is getting on my nerves... I mean, obviously he's not going to want a grandkid while I'm still driving a beat-up old Ford Fiesta 😕

But hey, at least they aren't asking when we're having a baby, just when the kid is finally going to start moving.😁

I've heard this twice now and I'm over it😲😲 So I nicely explained that my baby has been active from the start...

And my father-in-law keeps bugging me because he keeps repeating how some woman (who had her kid like 10-12 years ago, not sure) told him he should tell me not to go to the FBI ultrasounds so often 😵 And I've had to listen to that same line a few times now...

Look, I have zero intention of explaining the safety or risks of ultrasounds to anyone—just let me live in peace...

Oh, and the constant comments about how I'm "definitely" having a boy—that's been happening since day one. WTF? You guys act like you know, but even the doctors at the ultrasound can't tell 😂Once the baby is born, you'll all hear it—it'll be obvious. That's my baby!

I think my hormones finally decided to kick in over the last couple of days for the first time in this pregnancy 😂

My grandmother pulled the same stunt a few times, claiming she had vomited before a baby was actually revived. I explained to her that the heart starts beating around six weeks, but she just kept insisting on her version. Eventually, I realized there's no point in arguing with her about it.

That’s probably just one of those old-school labels... I actually heard a neighbor say something similar once. 🤷 But honestly, the real question is: did the baby actually survive?😠😠

Since we’re on the topic of mothers-in-law—mine is actually fine, but she made one comment that drove me absolutely insane: she kept insisting I was having a boy just because she "felt it in her gut." When the ultrasound confirmed it was a girl (which is what I was actually hoping for 🙂), she just doubled down. She claimed the scan was probably wrong because her "intuition" is better than an ultrasound or two doctors combined. Even now, after every single checkup, she’s still like, "Is it still a girl?" As if the baby is going to change gender just to satisfy her! We’re at 30 weeks now, so it would be pretty obvious if they were wrong, but she won't let it go... even my mom thinks she's being ridiculous 😂

About two weeks ago, this pregnant woman came in asking for something we normally don't give out—strictly against policy—but I went ahead and did it for her. I told my coworker: she’s pregnant, she can have whatever she wants.
It felt damn good.

And that total nightmare behind the counter? She was absolutely disgusting. You should have exposed her in the local papers. What a pig.
But hey, karma always catches up. Everything comes back around eventually.

I have a question, and since I wasn't sure which thread was appropriate, I'll just drop it here.
Is it actually okay for a pregnant woman to attend a funeral? I've heard some old wives' tales suggesting that many pregnant women end up getting sick or vomiting after attending one.😕

That’s complete nonsense.
